Colored Art - Tips and Critique Needed

This is the first time i colored a picture I drew, and the first time i have used colored pencils. I would very much appreciate it if you could hand me tips on shading and better ways to use them.

 

I also like general criticism on my art, but I still love simple compliments

First I have to say that this drawing is wonderfully adorable! Your colouring is smooth and well done, but the outlines are sometimes thick or too thin(on the cheek, for example). But damn, those eyes are way too cute.
