After Chrysalis was banished from Equestria, we thought her rebellion was finally over. But that was only the beginning of a much bigger war. Because her defeat created only more hatred and jealousy towards the Equestrian empire and especially their royals. The changeling queen was desperate, she needed to feed her children, it was her duty. And they were so loyal to her, she needed to take action before their hunger took over and they started to turn on her.

Changeling spies were spread across Equestria, disguised as ponies who looked like they would be loved by the Equestrian ponies. In every city, a few were placed, preparing for the day they took over. Only Canterlot and the crystal empire were off limits, too high security. Ponyville was a risk too, now that the princess of friendship and her elemental friends had settled down in a gigantic crystal castle. They succeeded though. The changeling took over half Equestria, mostly south while the kingdom struggled to defend the other half.

Among those was Lyssa Tzeentch, an infamous thief who had nothing else to do in the time war then earn a few bits on other ponies suffering, not that she liked it. But that was the only way she knew how to make a living. That is what her family taught her. Take care of yourself just like the rest of the world does. Lyssa's family was part of the reason why Equestria fell so quickly. They supported Chrysalis in secret, being used as spies and a permanent source of love. Half of her family members has changeling blood, unsurprisingly. But Lyssa didn't want to be on their side, despite the displeasure she caused her father, earning her his usual disappointed expression, a thing she would like to forget yet was the only thing she saw at moments like these.

Where was she exactly? She was protecting a client inside Canterlot. She got a letter from one of her sources, unable to refuse the job when the numbers dangled in front of her eyes. Must be a royal then she thought. She was sharpening her blade while she sat at the window, looking at the soft snowflakes slowly falling onto the already thick layer of snow beneath her. The whole city was covered in the white powder. She was glad she was inside, protecting this important unicorn blueface or whatever his name was. She wouldn't be able to survive out there, wearing nothing but a cloak and a scarf. She shivered at the thought of being out there, freezing to death.

She got up from her seat, throwing down her knife in the table next to her.

''I'm bored. I'm going to take a look around the house for a bit.'' she said to the nervous stallion seated across the room, pretending to read a book.

''Can you please stop throwing your knifes in my table? That cost me a fortune.'' The stallion said angry.

''Whatever you say mister.'' Lyssa said as she pulled out her knife, leaving another mark next to the other 7 scratches. ''Don't get murdered.'' she said cheery as she left the main room and wandered around the halls.

War. The bane of all civillians life. The money machine for the uninvolved. And the adrenaline rush of the century for a stallion like me. Thought Deathmark as he looked at the contract he has accepted. He was supposed to murder the royal prince, called blue something, it wouldn't really matter what his name is, if he is laying dead in 20 minutes right? He took out his fake royal guard badge, and attached it on his cloak. He entered the gates, and was halted by a guard inside the city. From the look of his helmet, he was a sergant "HEY YOU. WHO ARE YOU?! I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT ARMOR ON A GUARD BEFORE" Shouted the suspicious guard "I'm the Princes body guard sir, hired from outside" Explained Deathmark, hoping that it was a convincing lie. Fortunately for him, the guard didn't know that the bodyguard already was inside the castle. "Very well, my apologies" Said the guard and left. Figuring that it would be easier to straight up fly towards the balcony where the prince lived, he spread his wings and took flight. He instantly spotted the prince sitting by a table, drinking some liquor. So Deathmark drew his bow, took out an arrow and aimed straight for the heart, he drew the string back and inhaled

So Deathmark drew his bow, took out an arrow and aimed straight for the heart, he drew the string back and inhaled

''If you were planning on a sneak attack, I suggest you flap your wings just a little bit louder.'' Lyssa said as she dropped down next to the unfamiliar stallion who had just drawn his bow and was ready to release the sharp arrow pointed at the unknowing target inside. ''I wouldn't do that if I were you.'' The small mare said as she pulled out her blade out of the belt that laid across her shoulder.

She studied the stallion's face and appearance quickly as she took a step closer, saving the imagine of him in her mind in case this wasn't the last time she would see him. She had a feeling it wouldn't be. He had a stern look yet cheery, light and agile body, silver shiny coat with a dark and purple mane, interesting look for sure. And that's the impression she got before looking at his armor.

She waited for his response as her mind trailed off more, capturing the stallion like a photograph.

''He did what?'' Lyssa asked confused as she glanced through the window over to the now asleep stallion at the table. She turned backt to the stallion, who was now laying on the ground. ''Get up, I have a better idea.'' She said as she slowly open the window, crawling back inside carefully, not wanting to wake him. ''We take his money, which is definitely more than he was going to pay me and let Chrysalis deal with him. No need to kill him. You'll get your share, don't worry. Sound good?''

Because I am not going to protect this feather brain traitor. Not after I promised I wouldn't support the queen. Not after that embarrassing speech I gave to father.

''Unless you are like those assassins with codes and stuff. Then I'll have no choice but to stop you.'' She said as she turned back to face the stallion, looking him dead serious in the eyes.

Deathmark looked surprised at the mare "You believe me? Why? I have never met you, and besides, i'm send to kill your contract. You have every right, to kill me right now" He got up and took out his bow. He aimed for the prince's leg, and shot an arrow. Before she could jump him, he raised his hooves in defense "Don't worry! I have merely shot him with some sleeping poison. He'll be out in 20 hours more" He whent inside the room "So where was this money you spoke of?"

''I never said I believed you. But the chance of blue what's his name being who you say he is, is very likely. Otherwise he wouldn't be needing such high security and a contract with me.'' Lyssa said as her eyes followed the arrow into the traitor's leg. ''Let's tie him up first, the money comes later. We don't want him running of when he wakes up.'' she said as she walked over to her saddle bag, pulling out a long piece of rope that she handed (hoofded) over to the mystery stallion. ''You know how to tie a rope right?''

Deathmark looked at the rope in his hoof, and smiled confidentely "Would have been some hard jobs without those babies" He quickly tied him up, and put him away in the closet. He yanked out his arrown from his leg, and put it away into the quiver. He stuck his hoof out to her "You may call me Deathmark. What's your name miss?"

@@Love Doctor Blaze,

''Nice to meet you Deathmark. My name is Lyssa. Lyssa Tzeentch.'' she said as she shook his hoof quickly before moving on to the more important business: money. She opened the doors towards the hallway, grabbing her saddle back with her. ''Let's go. We don't have much time before the household staff makes their usual round.'' she said as she moved quickly through the corridors. The halls were decorated with high value paintings, some by Pony Picasso, silver and golden statues of the old war heroes and the occasional house plant. It would definitely earn her a few bits, but no time. The money inside the vault came first.

''In here.'' Lyssa said as she went through a door to a room filled with more expensive art and a lot, just an immense amount of books. The room was filled all around and up high to the sealing with books. ''Books, best weapon in the world.'' the small mare mumbled to herself. ''This room amazes me every time.'' she said, this time out loud. ''But, no time for that. Money should be around.... here!'' she pointed at a statue against the wall and at the drag marks in front of it on the carpet. It looked like the statue had moved. ''I heard him move something when he was in here. It's most definitely that.''

Despite her size, Lyssa could easily move the statue from its spot, revealing a small hole behind it. ''Seriously? Not even a lock?'' she said confused as she started loading up her saddle bags. ''You're free to take what you want as well.'' she said, looking back over her shoulder to the strange named stallion.

Deathmark nodded. He stuck out his wing, and started pushing the money into his saddlebags. He couldn't fit too much, since they where small, and not designed to carry lots of loot. He could hear the castle guards closing in. They must have discovered the prince. He busted up a window and looked over at Lyssa "Hold on to me! We're taking the window. Despite us being able to easily take on these guards, we don't really want to be busted for betraying our contractors"

''Agreed.'' Lyssa nodded as she grabbed the last bit of money, shoving it into her bag. She quickly moved back the statue and ran towards the window. The voices of the guards were coming closer, echoing through the hallways. "They'll probably think it's still me though. Suddenly disappearing like that.'' she said as she grabbed hold of her new mysterious friend. ''Are you sure you can carry this much weight?''

He was about to land, but unfortunately, an archer wouldn't let them leave unharmed. He drew back his arrow, and shot at the two thieves. Lyssa fell face down in the thick layer of snow, next to Deathmark. She stood up quickly, shaking her head and ruffing up her mane with her hoof to get the snow off. She then relocated the archer who had shot them down, seeing him reloading with another arrow. ''Flying feathers.'' she mumbled to herself as she grabbed one of her smaller knifes out of her belt. ''Stay here and stay down, I'll be right back.'' she said before she ran towards the wall of the castle and climbed her way up to the guard, holding the small knife between her teeth.

A sound of ruffling and puffing could be heard, sword clashing and a very loud scream before Lyssa dropped herself back to the ground. ''He won't be a problem, for now. Let's go. Can you walk? Where did you get hit?'' she said worried as she made her way over to the injured stallion.

He didn't answer when she said she would be right back. He held his hoof over his wing, in an attempt to stop the bleeding. He was snapped out of his thoughts, when she appeared next to him, and asked if he was alright "To tell you the truth, getting shot in the wing is a real pain, so no. But we got no time for my bitching" He pulled out a cloth "On three i want you to pull out the arrow, and i'll quickly bandage it up, alright?" Without waiting for an answer he counted "1...2...3 !"

Deathmark stayed low in the bushes. Making sure he wouldn't get noticed by the patrols flying over the tree tops. Despite him usually being pro at sneaking, he was having a hard time adapting to the balance tip. He heard a guard land near him, so Deathmark took out his bow, and aimed at the guard blocking his path. The arrow traveled without a sound and hit him right in the heart. The guard couldn't scream as he gurgled up blood, and collapsed. Deathmark pulled out the arrow "Rest in peace brother, may Celestia bless your soul" Muttered Deathmark and moved on. He was soon out of the forest, he only needed 80 meters or so, he could tell from the sun shining towards him ahead. He was now used to the balance tip, and could walk straight without faceplanting, so with the help of his knifes, he climbed up a tree to scout out the remaining enemies.

There was 3 archers, hiding behind logs and 2 spearguards checking bushes. Seeing he had no other choice, Deathmark took out his bow yet again, and this time 3 arrow. He aimed at the archers, and released. Hitting two in the vitals and the last one in the shoulder "Damn, my aim was off" He jumped down from the tree, and glided towards the spearguards. He gritted his teeth in pain as he glided lower and lower. The guards heard him and spun around with smirks. They thrusted towards him, but he folded his wings the last second, and rolled under the thrusts. He stabbed the first one in the heart, and took cover behind the last one as an arrow flew towards them. The arrow hit the guard straight in the face, and he collapsed dead.

Deathmark looked up with a smirk at the horrified archer "Nice shot lad. It's like we are on the same side" The archer backed off "S-stay back!" He fired an arrow at Deathmark, to which he responded by creating a shockwave with his good wing, making the arrow drop down. He then picked up the arrow and took out his bow "Sucks when you are an earthpony archer, eh?" With those words, he fired the arrow and watched as it impaled his throat. Once he was dead, Deathmark winced in pain and held a hoof to his back. He might have avoided the lethal thrusts from the spearguards, but they still got him good. He took out a map "Now... Where was that inn?"

Meanwhile Lyssa was able to distract a few guards away from Deathmark before losing them again in only 2 minutes by disappearing in the shadows. She watched them search for a bit before they finally turned around to go back where they came from, hopefully not giving her new friend too much trouble. She quickly made her way to the inn, which was the only 3 minutes away from where she was now. She climbed on a rooftop, seeing that it was the fastest way to get from point A to B. Plus the cold snowing was really getting to her. If she stayed out any longer, she couldn't take it anymore.

''Should have gotten those socks when I got the chance'', she mumbled to herself while she jumped from room to room before she finally arrived at the grimmest street of Canterlot. She made her way down with a help of some crates stacked against the wall. The haystack in inn was filled up with ponies, seeing it was the only place inside the slums with some heating. And if that wasn't enough, the alcohol would be able to keep you warm.

Lyssa pushed her way through the crowd as she made her way inside. There was a lot of chatter and cheers going around. All types of ponies who had done something wrong in the eyes of the law. But most of them were desperate anyway. The royals just let us rot in holes filled with rats and a new form of the back death. They don't care about us, not since the war started.

The small mare jumped on one of the bar stools and ordered herself a cider. It wasn't long before she was recognized by an old friend and started a friendly chat. In her mind though, she worried about Deathmark making it. She jut left him there by himself. Even though he seemed like a stallion who could save himself, she still felt guilty.
