The Mane Six's ages my take on it

So I thought I would get to the bottom of this and find a way to figure out the Mane Six ages. So this is what I did. 

 

1. Lauren Faust was the creator of the mane six

 

2. The Cutie Marks are figurative for hitting puberty.

 

3. The average age of hitting puberty for little girls in the 1980s was 12.5 years of age.

 

4. Lauren Faust in 13 years would be around 1987 (unless she hit puberty if she was 12 or 14 she would still be hitting it in the 80s). 

 

5. Lauren Faust would base the ponies puberty off of herself so about 12.5 years of age. She has always been planning on making her own adventures with her own ponies as a child.

 

6. The mane five were 12.5 years old when they got their cutie marks. Pinkie Pie would be 1 year younger than Fluttershy so the mane five are 1 year older than Pinkie Pie. Or it could be that Fluttershy is 1 year older than the mane five. Why I think the mane five are all the same age besides Pinkie Pie or Fluttershy is because characters in a show are usually put at the same age or similar enough.

 

7. Spike would be just born when the mane five got their cutie marks. He was just a day old.

 

8. Spike has been Twilight's intern for what seems to be some time. I'll ignore this because he might have broken into being one in just a few months. Twilight does not treat Spike like her child in fact she expects him to not just be responsible for himself but for her work the very way people treat interns.

 

9. Spike has the maturity of 16 years old (hangs out with the teenage dragons and is much more mature than the CMC) and he's Twilight's intern. The youngest interns are about 16 years old. 

 

10. So if the mane five were 12.5 years old and Spike was born and is now 16 years old you add 12.5 and 16 together which ends up 28.5 years old or 27.5 years old if Fluttershy is one year older than the mane five. 

 

11a. The mane five were 28.5 years old when Twilight arrived to Ponyville. Pinkie Pie was 27.5 years old.

 

11b. The mane five were 27.5 years old when Twilight arrived to Ponyville. Fluttershy was 28.5 years old.

 

12a. One year has passed in Equestria because they did mention that the Galloping Gala happens once a year and there is now two Galloping Gala that occurred. The mane five are now 29.5 years old and Pinkie Pie is 28.5 years old.

 

12b. One year has passed in Equestria because they did mention that the Galloping Gala happens once a year and there is now two Galloping Gala that occurred. The mane five are now 28.5 years old and Fluttershy is 29.5 years old.

 

13. Twilight becoming the Princess of Friendship could be similar to a graduate student getting her PhD. In a way Twilight is a Professor in Friendship. At the age of 28.5-29.5 years it's not surprising. It makes sense that Twilight would have her own intern (Spike) if she was a graduate student. Rarity owns her own business and even has a part of it at Canterlot so being about 28.5-29.5 years old seems fair. Spike would be about 17 years old now. The CMC is about 13.5 years old. Of course not sure about the CMC since I would have to take the average puberty age of girls and boys of the 1980s since the boys in their classes had already hit puberty but this is about mane six ages so not going to stress on that.

Man this hurt my brain a little bit, but comes out the same as what most people would say the age are, though I prefer to think the mane 6 as early 20's and CMC as tweens

they have to be at least old enough to own their own bissnues and live on their own

I would guess that they're all around the young adult age, like their early 20s.

A very interesting take on the ages of the mane cast. I've never seen anyone compare getting a cutie mark to the age at which a girl begins puberty.

 

I like most people will go with the simpler idea that the mane 6 are in their early 20's, while Spike and the CMC are in their late tween early teenage years  -_-.
