ManaMinori 4,145 March 11, 2016 Share March 11, 2016 He made an appearance in Fiendship is magic. But his guards look like G1 Jewel eyed ponies. Jwewel eyed race confirmed to exist in gen 4? Also, since orion is the name of constellation, what relationship might King Orion have had with Luna, if any? Steve Piranha 29,420 March 13, 2016 Share March 13, 2016 Not sure about either. Certainly, those ponies are from a G1 toyline, but since show canon contradicts comic canon, I wouldn´t confirm their existense from there. Though, with the existence of ponies apart from earth, pegasi, unicorns and alicorns exist, namely crystal, bat, and a weird pegasus with rabbit-like ears.... I think (those are in one of the Daring Doo books), it´s possible they existed in another land in show canon too Sig by Discords
AlbaTross 1,586 April 11, 2016 Share April 11, 2016 Well, given that there are three mane pony races in Equestria currently, plus Alicorns, and the Crystal Ponies resurfaced after being gone for 1000 years, not to mention what appears to be a different pony race in Saddle Arabia, it is reasonable to infer that there were likely more pony races in the past, and that's just the pony races. There are clearly other sentient races both in Equestria and abroad. What that all implies is that, much like Earth's history (and pre-history), Equestria's history isn't all rainbows and butterflies, and King Orion and his alternate race of Pegasus Ponies doesn't seem too out of place. Given that it's B canon it's technically canon and is really just a matter of whether you choose to accept it as part of the canon you follow. That said, I don't think there's evidence of any relation between King Orion and Princess Luna.
