Nel did his best to mimic Dancers movements but was mesmerized by how well her body flowed to the beat. The pair bowed at the end of the song and left the stage with smiles.

Steady grinned with joy and followed Red as they left through the back. "I'm here for you if you need me Red alright?"

"Thank you," Red said. The two walked on for a little while until they got to a tent in the park. "This must be him," Red said, "He usually just sleeps in his tent on a good night like this."

 

Red scraped his hoof on the side of the tent. "Um, Father?" he asked.

 

"Red?" Sand replied, "Just a minute. I'll be right out." Sand emerged from the tent with a smile on his face. "I know I say we need to talk sometime, but why this late an hour? And who's thisin' here?"

 

"Well, this is Steady Beat," Red replied.

 

"Well, hiya there Steady," Sand said.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Chrystal." Steady smiled and shook his hoof.

She grinned at him, "Maybe next time, you get a little less lost in the eyes of your dance partner, hmm?" she nudged him playfully*

"Now, what ya'll doin' wakin' me up this late?" Sand Crystal asked.

"Well, Steady said that she saw you at the concert I was playing at, and I wanted to explain. You see --"

Sand lifted a hoof to stop him. "I don't want yer explainin' 'round here. Yer fightin' for what you want."

"But..." Red can't find the words.

"Jus don't be makin' too much noise. You can get in trouble 'round these parts."

Red looks at Steady. "I guess you were right," he whispers.

 

"Nice to meet you Mr. Chrystal." Steady smiled and shook his hoof.

Red smiled sheepishly. "Well, I guess I'll see you later, father."

"Actually, if you could stay put for a while, I want to talk to you man-to-man."

Red looked at Steady. "I guess my father want's to talk privately. Is that okay?" he asked.

"Sure thing Red, I'll be waiting over there." Steady smiled again and walked over to a small bench across the path.

"So, what is it?" Red asked.

"I'm wonderin' what yer thinkin' of this Steady mare," Sand answered.

"Why do you ask me?"

"I'm a thinkin' that you two look good."

"Well, it's possible."

"Possible? Son, for one time be sure on somethin' that ain't music."

Red sighed. "I think she's waiting for me."

"Jus remember what I say here. Yer a stubborn boy, and be a stubborn for this."

"Okay. Thank you father. I would like to talk to you more soon. Good bye for now."

"Ya'll have a good night, and don't be gettin' into too much trouble."

 

Red trotted over to Steady. "Okay ready to go."

"Mind if I ask what you were talking about?" Steady followed Red closely down the street.

"Oh, just fatherly teachings and everything."

"hm... So what do you want to do now? We don't have to go back to the concert."

"I guess we could head back to my place for a little bit."

"That sounds *yawn* nice." Steady leaned on Red as they headed towards the hotel.

 

"Do you feel any better after talking to him?"

"Yes," Red said leaning back on Steady, "I do."

"I'm happy if you're happy." She smiled and nuzzled his neck. "Maybe we can visit him sometime soon."
