"Nel, I'm so sorry I hurt you so much..." Nel closed his eyes and whispered in her ear.

 

"It's okay Steady, I should have said something earlier." They both smiled and continued to dance.

 

Bass simple chuckled to himself and continued to play.

Red and the mre talked a little bit while eating. She could see Red was feeling down still, so she tried to find a way to remedy that.

 

(Cue Jaws theme.)

"I've always felt that way around you." Steady's cheeks went red but they couldn't be seen by Nel."

Red stops talking and looks into the distance. The scarlet mare leaneds toward him to sneak him a kiss, but she was interrupted by the barkeep entering the hall. Red thought of getting a drink, but he decided to wait until after the performance. He didn't want to make that mistake again.

 

"You know, I'm really having a good time. It reminds me of when we were little. This feeling in my heart..."

 

"I've always felt that way around you." Steady's cheeks went red but they couldn't be seen by Nel."

Once the song was over the two looked at each other again. They both smiled and nuzzled each other one more time.

 

"Hey Bass, I think I'll catch up with you later."

 

"Sure thing, I'll be here." Bass waved as the pair left.

The rest of the group shuffles in, and Red and the mare, who revealed her name to be Scarlet Star (I'm making stuff up as I go. XD), decide to go backstage. The band this time is quite a bit smaller. As it turned out, they were doing disco music. Scarlet and two other mares got ready, stood behind three retro microphones, and, as the curtain rose, started to sing.

 

 

Once the song was over the two looked at each other again. They both smiled and nuzzled each other one more time.

 

"Hey Bass, I think I'll catch up with you later."

 

"Sure thing, I'll be here." Bass waved as the pair left.

Once they had reached the town again Nel led Steady to a stretch of various shops. They walked down the street with Steady leaning against Nel, their tails intertwined with each other.

It seemed like the show ended as soon as it started, as Red puts his trumpet back in it's case. He then sat down by the bar and ordered a drink. Then a familiar mare came by and sat by him, ordering the same thing. Red and Scarlet talked a little bit more over their drinks.

"Nel, I'm really glad we were able to just relax tonight. It's been so long since we've done something fun!" Steady pulled herself in front of Nel.

Soon one drink turns to two, then three, and soon Red loses count entirely. When he was done he could hardly stand up. Scarlet, who only had a drink and a half, decides to help him walk home.

"I know Steady, I've missed the times when it was just by ourselves. Nopony to keep us apart." Nel inched closer to Steady

Red and Scarlet made it to Red's room. They waved their goodbyes and Red crashed into his bed and fell asleep instantly.

"I know, but I promise to try to find more time for us to spend alone like this." Steady spoke softly as she moved her head closer to Nel's.

 

Nel closed is eyes and as their lips became only inches apart. Steady was about to do the same but hesitated. Noticing the pause Nel opened his eyes.

 

"I-Im sorry Nel I just-"Steady was silenced when Nel rested a hoof gently on her lips.

 

"It alright Steady, you dont have to rush it."

Red woke up in the morning with bloodshot eyes, faded coat, a pounding headache, and nausa. He laid on his bed and waited for the room to stop spinning.

 

(Found a brony at Engineering camp.)

Steady woke up slowly and trudged into the bathroom.

Red decided it was safe to stand up. He got out of bed and left his room to find something for his headache.
