"Yeah. You too," said Rain quietly.

As soon as Shadow was gone there was a sudden flash and the filly sat there.

"Hey Rain," she said cutely.

"Zlo," nodded Rain. "What're you doing here?"

"Oh, not much. Just hanging out, I suppose. I see you're having a little drama there."

Rain shrugged. "I don't really know what's going on..."

Shadow started to mope around town rather sadly. Clocks rammed himself into his shoulder playful-like. "Yo wassup?" he said "Nothing..." It was obvious that aces was following from behind. "So da guy who killed me years ago still lives" Aces said.

midnight smiled and sank his fangs into clouds neck, she gasped for a moment then smiled tilting her head and letting him, she wasnt scared, and had been preparing herself for this for awhile, since that night in the tent with midnight.

 

as soon as midnight was done, he hugged her tight as she started to fall unconsious, "see you soon, midnight moon..." she giggled at her own joke before unconsiousness took her.

Zlo closed her eyes and suddenly her body shifted into a pretty teenaged mare. Rain watched mopily.

*Oh come on,* said Zlo with a mocking frown. *Is he really worth that much?*

Rain just stared at the wall in silence.

"It's da mare isn't it?" Clocks asked with a grin. Shadow didn't say anything "I get her deal already, she seems quite self destructive really"

Zlo sat next to Rain. *Look, the offer's still open,* she said with a wicked grin.

Rain shook her head slowly. "I can't just die and leave him here...that's not fair to him. Not to mention he probably wouldn't be very happy with you."

Zlo shrugged with a chuckle. *Nothing I can't handle...*

Rain just shook her head again and continued to look at the wall.

The Egotist recalled the address on the napkin and looked down at Ponyville. He landed next to a street sign and examined it. If the instructions had been correct, the warehouse was just down this street.

 

A large building caught his eye as he walked and he made a B-line for it.

 

When he got to the door, he sighed. It was locked. Not willing to give up, he turned around and kicked it down.

 

I'll pay for that later, the Egotist thought.

 

He stepped into the warehouse and flicked on a light. A smile crossed his face as he took in the contents.

The Egotist placed the mask gently on his face. The mask lit up and a familiar interface filled his vision. He reattached his wings, which he had upgraded to fold completely into his back, and attached a bracelet to his right forehoof.

 

The Egotist pointed the gem set in the bracelet at the wall and a thin laser shot from it. The bracelet didn't have as many gadgets as his gauntlets had, but the single laser would help immensely, both for combat and utility purposes.

 

"Computer," the Egotist said. "I need you to run a scan for me."

 

Numbers flashed across the interface of his mask as the computer responded in the Egotists mind.

 

Yes sir, what do you need?

 

"I need you to find someone for me," the Egotist said as he carefully pulled a small container from underneath his mane. He removed the lid and extracted a single hair.

 

"I need you to find the previous owner of this hair."

"Why are you talking to me, Clocks" Shadow said rather gruffly. "Well becus ima good guy, obviously" He responded with a sarcastic grin

Zlo sighed.

*There are plenty of other fish in the sea, Rain,* she said impatiently. Rain shook her head again.

"I don't want to date anyone else...I just don't see us working.":

Shadow sighed "No, really, i want to know" he said.

 

Clocks shrugged "I dunnos, i gots nutin bettah ta do anyways, jus felt like talkin ta ya"

Cloud awoke a couple of hours later, she didnt feel very diffrent, "midnight?" she coughed, her throat was dry,

midnight looked up, he had zoned out for most of the time, staring blankly at the book he carried with him, "hello you." he smiled and lightly nuzzled her neck, "how are you feeling?" he helped her sit up slowly, she had been laying still for almost half a day.

 

"hmm, not much diffrent, d-did it work?" she was worried that it hadnt,

midnight smiled, "open your mouth."

she opened them and then he looked her in the eyes, "well, you have two well grown fangs, and your eyes are not a beautiful shade of reddish tourquoise."

 

she smiled and kissed him deeply, "hehe, so it worked?"

midnight nodded, "hmmm, now.....come on, lets go pay a visit to the hospital, get you something to drink."

Zlo sighed and then stood, starting to pace.

*You're so stubborn!* she snorted in annoyance.

"Why don't we go to da bar and have a drink? Buddy ol' pal?" Clocks asked with a grin. Shadow merely shook his head "Nope"

Zlo sighed. *When is he coming back?*

Rain shrugged. "I don't know...he just said he was going out for a bit."

Zlo cocked her head. *Sounds fishy to me...he can't even trust you enough to tell you what he's doing.*

"Well I didn't," argued Rain, but Zlo just shook her head sadly.

*You're too trusting, Rain.* She leaned in her face. *Remember that cute mare? Star Berry, was it?*

Rain paled slightly but shook her head. "Shadow wouldn't. That's not like him."

Zlo crowed triumphantly. *Oh, I wouldn't be so sure...*

"Please mein, i needs somepony ta talk to sometime, you already know how borin Acey can get" He pleaded. Shadow merely shook his head again, "I just wanted to take a walk, i'm sorry" he said as he was about to end his walk and head back home.

[Mephala 2,633]

Zlo looked at Rain. *C'mon, Rain, don't be stupid...what else can he be doing?*

Rain shook her head. "Stop, Zlo," she said quietly, but Zlo just snickered.

"Fine" Clocks said after a few seconds "I got to head back, Rain will probably get bored alone" he said as he split off the path and started back towards home. Clocks sighed. "Alright, see ya around den"

Zlo looked focused for a moment, then beamed. *Oh, he's coming back!* she said gleefully. Rain stared at the door awkwardly, waiting.

Shadow flew down to the house and reached the door, he opened the door "I'm home" he said simply with a chuckle as he walked inside.

Rain glanced up and Zlo vanished.

"Oh, hi. How was your walk?" she asked, trying to keep level tones.

 

(Gotta go. Night.)

"It was okay, Clocks wouldn't leave me alone though..." he explained

midnight and cloud trotted along the empty streets of nighttime ponyville, "come on, we just need to grab a bag or two of blood for you,"

cloud frowned, "isnt that stealing?"

midnight nodded, "yes, yes it is, but its better then killing a pony for their blood, right?"

cloud smiled and kissed his cheek, "yes, oh, and by the way i finished that painting of you and me, so itll be dry in a day or so."

midnight smiled and pushed the door open, finding the front desk empty, "must be doing something else, just wait here and ill be right back."

While Midnight was walking down the hallway, something was laying on the ground of the hallway. It was the mare from the front desk, drained of her blood, seemingly dead.

midnight frowned, and looked at the mare, he slowly approached her, looking back at cloud, "come here."

cloud gasped, "i-is she.....dead?"

midnight put his hoof to her throat, "seems to be, yet i can still feel something in there....."

Omega walked out of a room whistling. He had a blood bag in hoof. He noticed Midnight and Cloud "Well, well, well, What brings you here?" he asked as he stuck a popsicle stick in the bag, used his magic to freeze the blood, then rip the frozen blood from the plastic bag, making a frozen blood treat. "Care for a bloodsicle?" he asked with a wicked grin.
