Autistic friends and my experiences w/ them

Imma head this by saying that this will a bit of a vent. Feel free to add in because I want to understand the subject more. I will also not be in any way politically correct or sensitive to this, this is a vent after all.

I have this friend on Skype w/ autism. We don't talk too, too much lately. And frankly I've been frustrated w/ him. I've been considering removing him from my contacts. Every time I login I see a slew updates from him full of either super insane all caps exclamations or depressed comments how nobody ever likes him. He changes his username to something random every 3 days (the current one is "(yadda cuz privacy yadda) THE UNLOVED". I've been researching autism and I know that emotions can hit them harder and that they take it more seriously. But you know when someone is a super downer and it just ends up either getting you sad or pissed off? I try to sympathize w/ him, but when his entire feed is just moaning it's hard. A shudder for the day when a GF leaves him.

I know I need to be more supportive. I understand why he feels that way. It's just getting harder to deal with such a constant downer.

yeah so that's my offensive little rant. It's ok if you want to take this down mods >_>

Laughter. That's me.

I see it not only as the aspect of a good friend, but also a virtue for life!

To let the world roll over me and my friends (psst that's you)  and enjoy every moment is my life goal.

So let me make you laugh... Let me make you smile... Let me brighten your day... You may be all the better for it

Hey there @@QuantumPony,

This thread has little potential to spark a discussion and would be better suited to a Blog or Status update. Please remember when posting a thread in Beyond Equestria that the goal is to have a subject which encourages discussion and allows an ease of access for others to join in and share their opinions on, and that threads of an anecdotal nature would be better suited to elsewhere.

Locked,

"Always watching - Always lurking."
