Apparently, it got featured on Equestria Daily... I have no idea who submitted it, but thanks! Really didn't think it was anywhere good enough to get there but *shrugs*. It is in the Music of the Day #670

Well I ended up finishing this in just under 9 hours, I kinda like how it turned out, but then there are some parts I think are a little "off"

Its up on SoundCloud anyway if anyone wants a listen

Oh- its Drum & Bass by the way.

I absolutely loved it! My only critique is that I would have liked to hear more of the music that played in the beginning(your adaptation of the violin part from the original version). Other than that it's outstanding!

9.7/10

I've been gone from this world for what seems like millennia, Looking for nothing short of a miracle, I only ever wanted to come home, Please won't you let me go? When I have nowhere left I can run away, Will you lie to me, tell me I'll be okay? Close my eyes and lay me in my tomb. Then pull the trigger and send me home.

Thank you so much! but a 9.7/10?! I don't think so XD

I was planning on using the Violin section a lot more, and I actually had a lot more of it in my original mix but I took most of it out since it affected the dynamics of the mix quite a bit. Though I wanted it to be a little more bass and synth focused rather than traditional instruments. Maybe I'll use more in another mix if I decide to do one though!

Thanks for your comment too :3

Ok.

It's a decent listen.

Those strings sound a little too digital. It is best to use more natural accented arco strings leading up to the filter sweep-out. Look into strings from Garritan sounds or other soundbanks instead of using those digital strings. In terms of what they're playing, I'd actually double up and use two string lines, moving the melody you had an octave up, and adding a lower voice using staccato accented arco strings.

In addtion, I would only bring in kick, when the percussion starts. Extend that intro out more. You only had it running for 4 bars before the kick and snare came in. Have four bars of solo kick and strings, then at the 5th, add the snare. By the 7th bar, initiate the sweep out leading straight into the 8th bar drop-prep. In your case, the drop could be a doward arpeggiating hard and bright plucked lead you had, or even a distorted plucked lead slide. Slides are actually more effective leading into the drop, because if your listener is listening from a powerful speaker, the drop slide can live up to it's full potential.

Following the drop, I wouldn't have that low harsh plucked lead repeating notes according to the root of the progression. That plucked lead sounded amazing though, but it could use some arpeggiated runs. I would also add a low phat sounding type of saw running on the actual bassline just to keep melodic integrity.

The square wave you had running was a little drowned out by the plucked lead. Turn it up a little more in your mix.

Your vocals could use some boost in the mix, as they are quite low.

In terms of mixing, your low plucked lead could benefit with added depth. Beef it up with some low end, instead of drowning it out with a low-end sine wave.

All in all, it's a good remix, but it could use quite a bit of work. I'm here if you need any help with any terms you didn't understand.
