Atropa laughed.

"Ah, well, I skip school so much, that they just don't even care that much anymore.. Do you wanna skip with me?"

She pointed to her car.

"I can drive."

She wiggled her eyebrows at Jake, and then stuck her tongue out.

God, why are you acting like this, you freak? Quit it, he'll think you have a crush- c-crush on him....

Atropa frowned.

Jake chuckled at how she was acting, but when she frowned, he became concerned. He didn't show it however, he smiled and nodded "Sounds fun, where do you wanna go?"

Mike sat in the classroom, looking down. On his lap was his phone. he had his math books in front of him, the books were closed. He obviously didn't care about school.

Suddenly the principle appeared. "Going somewhere?" His face boomed with disapproval. "Skip again and I will expel you Atropa. God knows I've only been keeping you around because my daughter has hope for you. But I'm sick of your bullshit. I've already called a tow truck on your car, all vehicles on school property need a pre-approved permit by me." He was clearly in a bad mood. "And you!" He turned to Jake, "you start skipping any classes and I'll have you out of here and working at McDonalds for the rest of your pathetic life." He was red faced as fuming as he grabbed Atropa and brought her into the school with him.

Hayley was following close behind. She approached Jake. "Hey! I was surprised we you duct out on me yesterday randomly. Maybe I took too long in the washroom. So sorry for that. I just want to make sure we're on good terms? I'm sorry if I said anything that offended you, or anything. I was only trying to help. Oh look at me making excuses for myself. Silly Hayley." Hayley knocked herself a few times on the head. "Don't mind my dad, he didn't get the best sleep last night. But you shouldn't skip regardless. We really want you to pass this year!" Hayley smiled at Jake.

Jake was upset to see Atropa taken away to her own classes, he was really hoping to spend a day with her. He turned to look at Hayley with a raised eyebrow, he gave a slight smile and shook his head "How are you always so bubbly?" he aske her. The source of her happiness was always a mystery to him.

"What's not to be happy about?" Hayley sat down next to Jake. "This day is a precious gift. Everyday is. Life is so fragile, yet look at us here, talking to eachother. It's amazing if you think about it. We're so lucky. The world is full of corruption, poverty and nasty things, we're really lucky. We've got the world at the palm of our hands, we have the power to be and do anything." Her speech was almost inspirational. Hayley smiled and grabbed Jake's hands in her own. "If I can make at least one person smile everyday, than life will always have meaning and purpose." Hayley's face was shinning with determination. She let go of Jake's hands and reached into her backpack. She pulled out a large bouquet of red roses. "I was saving up for a new toy, but I decided to buy this instead. It's for Atropa. She was in the hospital the other day. did you know that? Poor thing, I knew she looked sick. I'm going to give them to her. I want to see her smile again."

<wow... This girl is so corny> thought Jake as she rambled. When he heard Atropa had been in the hospital, he immediately became worried and asked Hayley immediately "What happened?"

Then, suddenly Mike came running by with 3 policemen behind him. "Hi" He said as he ran by Jake and Hayley. He still had his butterfly knife in his hand, ready to attack if nessecary. He ran in to the other end of the hallway witch appeared to be a dead end. Luckily for him it had a window at the end.

As he stood there watching the cops nearing him, he jumped out of the window. He fell down on a car. He landed in the windshield. As he was losing blood from his arms, legs and back he kept running away from the cops.

"Her mother called the school this morning saying, she might be late since she wasn't feeling so well, and was in the hospital yesterday." Hayley had a look of concern on her face. "She looked okay to me this morning though. I'm glad she's feeling better!" Hayley was smiling again.

Suddenly Mike and two Police officers dashed by. Hayley noticed the knife, "hey! weapons are not allowed on school property." The officer's tipped their hats at Hayley, "good morning miss Kaiser." "Morning officers!"

Hayley went back at sat next to Jake, "I can help you with your school work if you want Jake."

Mike got caught. 2 officers dragged him in the police van. The third one was injured, he got a knife in his arm.Mike was all bloody and almost unconscious he was yelling words no one could understand. The officers closed the doors and the van drove away. Almost everyone at school looked when they took down Mike.

Jake couldnt help but feel worried about Atropa. He was definitely going to ask her when he saw her again. When offered help, Jake replied, "Well... Uhh... Atropa was assigned to help me out... and well... I was hoping shed help me out because... I..." <because I want to hang out with her again.>. Jake looked down, blushing pretty deeply at the thought.

Hayley smiled sweetly as she put her hand on Jake's shoulder, "I get it it. She could really use a friend like you. Thank you, uh actually. You should give her these flowers instead. They'd probably mean a lot more coming from you." Hayley spoke in a normal tone for once. She was really touched. As she handed Jake the flowers she ignored his polite refusal and walked to class.

*There was a rustling in the tree above Jake. He looked up just in time to see a body falling off a branch and land right in front of him.*

"Aw, fuck!"

*Sasha sat up. She rubbed her sleepy eyes abd re-adjusted her headphones. She then turned and saw Jake looking at her.*

"Sup kiddo?"

*She said in a normal voice, as if she hadnt just fallen out of a tree.*

At the police station Mike has been released. he walked home. As he walked to his home he saw Jake and Sasha. "Hey bro, and lady." He said "I'm released from the police station. it appears thet i can go home. Do you think Hayley has something to do with that? I just stabbed a poliece officer in the arm, and now they just let me go."

Jake greeted the two. He was confused by Mikes story, but he shook it away. He said his goodbyes and headed to class.

*Sasha got up and walked into the building and then into the principal's office to sign in. It was required that she sign in everyday so it is confirmed that she was in attendance. She saw Haley siiting at her desk in the office.*

"Hey Haley-bear. Hows it going?"

"Good morning Sasha! Wow you look fantastic today! I love your shirt." Hayley smiled brightly, "come to sign-in as usual?" Sasha nodded. Hayley handed her the sign-in sheet, where Sasha had to sign next to her name. "We really need a more efficient way of doing this, eh?" Hayley laughed kindly.

*Sasha said. It seemed like everyone in the school knew that Sasha had the hots for Hayley, except for Hayley herself. and Sasha was fine with that.*

"Heads up there is a bullying assembly today around 1pm and it goes to the end of the day. They didn't tell the students because they don't want them to get away with a skip." Hayley smiled as she took back the sign-in sheet.

*Sasha said. Then she remembered something and took a ten dollar bill from her pocket.*

"Here is the Hamilton I owe you. Thanks for the lend, I just cant seem to convince my mom to buy me albums anymore."

*Sasha handed Hayley the money and walked out of the office with a wink.*

Atropa was dragged into the principals office, and sent on her way to her classes. On the way out, she saw Haley holding Jake's hands, and he was blushing.

Rage and jealousy flared in her chest.

I knew I shouldn't care about him. He's just as bad as the rest...

Atropa stomped out of the office, and to her first class.

It was English, and she sat in the back, like usual.

She turned her music up and put her hood on, laying her head down on her desk.

A minute later, someone came by and took her hood off, pulling the earphones out in the process.

"What the fuck man?!"

Atropa yelled, glaring at whoever did it.

But then she saw who it was- and her heart dropped.

It was Brenden.

"Woah, bitchy. What's up your ass?"

Atropa looked down at her desk.

"Come on baby. Don't be that way. I'm just kidding. And I was kidding yesterday too, with all that shit. Of course we can get back together."

Atropa smiled.

"R-really?"

"No." Brenden laughed and sat down behind her.

Atropa looked down and bought her lip, trying not to cry.

Brenden pulled on Atropa's hair, and whispered in her ear;

"If you don't meet me in the bathroom at lunch, I'll tell everyone about your little problem."

He made a cutting motion on his arm, and laughed.

Atropa nodded, and pulled her hood back on, hiding her eyes, which were filling with tears.

Her heart had dropped so low, she thought maybe her stomach acid was eating it away by now.

Jake walked to class rather slowly, he passed by the class, he noticed that Atropa looked like she was about to cry. He noticed Brenden, her ex, anger flared in him that he never felt before as he saw him whisper something to her. He got a sudden idea, he walked into the classroom, "Sorry to interrupt, but the principle wishes to see Atropa" he may not have gotten the best grades, but he was known as the most honest student in the school, so the teacher happily obliged and let Atropa leave with Jake.

Atropa didn't look at Jake.

She wouldn't.

She couldn't.

She was still crying, and she hated herself for it.

"W-Why does he want to see me n-now?"

She asked, clenching her fists and biting her lip.

She felt like she was falling apart.

Jake placed his hands on her shoulders, concern in his eyes and voice, "Atropa... what's wrong? Please tell me..." he didn't want to see her so hurt like this, it caused his own heart to drop.

Atropa took a deep breath, glared up at Jake, and pushed him away.

"Nothing, I'm fine. I have to go."

She walked quickly to the front of the school, where she stopped and turned back.

She felt bad, she knew Jake was just trying to help.

But then again, she didn't need his sympathy or help.

He was with Hayley anyway, right?

Atropa pulled her phone out, called a few "friends"

and left the school.
