Candy nods and smiles "Same here" she says as she sees their husbands come up from the basement, she crosses her arms and shakes her head "You're as slow as ever Chocolate, it took Gentle and I no time to recognize each other" she teases but laughs and then giggles as Chocolate scoops her up and twirls around a little.

 

He then kisses the tip of her muzzle "hush up darling" he says with a chuckle and eyes the ham "Mm that's smelling good, your mother's recipe?" he asks, to which she nods.

Gentle and Quick chuckle as they watched Chocolate spin around with Candy. They both imagined each one of them as when they were young colts and fillies. "Seeing this just brings back so many memories. Those were just wondrous times, don't you agree?" She looked up as Quick and their eyes met. With a smile, Quick nods. "They truly were. I'm just glad we're all together again. Now we can make more memories and our children can be happy." He tightened the embrace around his wife.

 

Candy giggled as she lightly elbowed Quick in the stomach. "I still can't believe you two didn't recognize each other. How's that even possible?" Quick shrugs and pouts. "Hey don't look at me. Both of us completely forgot and memory isn't great with old age. I'm just glad I remembered my best buddy now instead of not at all." Gentle shook her head. "Oh please. You're not even middle aged, so you have no room to complain mister." Both Quick and Gentle laughed as she leaned up to kiss Quick on the cheek.

 

Dynamo stirred in his sleep and he began to open his eyes.He sat up slowly and yawned as he tried to figure out how he got on the couch. He looked down and noticed he fell asleep next to Starling and Orange. He smelled the air and concluded that dinner was just about ready. He leaned down and nuzzled his little sister, while he kissed his fiancee on the cheek. "Hey, come on you two sleepyheads. It's time to wake up. Dinner is ready." He said softly with a smile.

Orange and Starling both wake up with equally adorably cute yawns and blinking of their eyes. Candy melts at the sight "Be still my heart, even at her age, Orange is still so adorably cute" she says softly as she goes to pick up her youngest daughter, who was now refusing to let go of her older brother and sister and her plushies. "Come on sweetie, I'm sure Orange and Dynamo won't mind if you sit in between them"

 

Chocolate smiles "Of course she is darling, she takes after you after all" he says, kissing his wife on the cheek as he pulls out the high chair for Candy to put Starling in, he then gets out her favorite sippy cup.

Dynamo watched as Candy took Starling and led her into the kitchen. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and stretched. He took Orange's hand into his and they walked into the kitchen to join the others. As they walked into the kitchen, they each took their respective seats and got ready to eat. "Hey this is the pork roast you make mom. What's the reasoning?" He asked as Gentle smiled at her son. "Well sweetheart, this dinner was the one my parents made me for my wedding proposal with you father. The other dinner is the same for your Aunt Candy and Uncle Chocolate's proposal dinner. We thought since you two are getting married, we wanted to make the occasion special." Dynamo smiled and got out of his chair to his mom and Aunt.

 

He gave them each a tight hug and nuzzled them. "Thank you this is really thoughtful." Gentle returned the embrace and nuzzled her son. "Your welcome and it's no problem. We love you, Orange and Starling. This is our way of showing that the love you two share is special and that you will always be together." Dynamo nodded as he went to retake his seat. As they all got their food and drinks, Dynamo took a bite and sighed happily. "This is really good and very tasty."

Candy smiles and sits down after Chocolate pulls a chair out for her "Thank you Dynamo, and your mother is right, We thought to make this special occasion even more special, and now that your fathers have finally rekindled their age old friendship, it's even more and more special" she says as she then closes her eyes a little.

 

Chocolate smiles as he brushes Orange's mane out of her face "There you go sweetie, don't want your lovely mane getting dirty now, do we?" he asks as she fills up her sippy cup with some sparkling strawberry cider.

Dynamo's eyes widened in surprise at the news of his father and uncle. "You and Uncle Chocolate were friends as well dad?" Quick smiled and nodded. "That's right, Dynamo. Chocolate and I were best friends growing up. You could even say we were like brothers. We even met your mother and Aunt the exact same time. So, in a way, it's like we are all connected somehow."

 

Dynamo stared in awe at the recent developments and grinned. He then looked over to Orange and smiled at her. He blushed at the way her hair was parted by Chocolate. "I guess this means we were even connected by our dads. This is really cool." He smiled happily as he took another bite of his dinner.

 

Gentle nodded before taking on a serious look at the young couple. "While that is true, Candy and I have come to an agreement about the two of you being married. Isn't that right, my dear friend?" She asked as she looked over to Candy and winked at her.

Candy tilts her head to feign innocence "My dear Gentle Step, I assure you that I have no idea what you are talking about" she says, winking at her subtly and giggling as she then looks at the spread on the table.

 

Orange giggles and takes her sippy cup from her father, hugging him, then nods  "I think it's pretty awesome" she giggles again

 

Chocolate smiles then looks at Dynamo "Now son, are you as much a lightweight as your father is? If not, I'm sure you can celebrate with at least one glass of champagne"

Dynamo folded his arms and closed his eyes to weigh his options. After contemplating, he opened his eyes to look at Chocolate. "I'm not much of a drinker because I'm just like my dad. My mom told me my limit is one so can I have just a little of champagne?" He asked as he took a drink of his soda.

 

Gentle nodded at Candy before continuing. "Now don't get me wrong, nopony is in trouble. I just want to make a ground rule or two. For one thing, I don't want to be a grandmare any time soon." What she said caused Dynamo to spit take on the floor and cough. After getting his coughing under control he took a paper towel and cleaned the floor. apologizing as he did so. "It's okay dear. I'm just glad you took it better than I thought. I honestly thought you would have passed out or something close to that." She giggled as Dynamo gave her a deadpanned look. Shaking her head she continued. "The reason I say that is, you two are still in the Academy. I just don't want one or the two of you to drop out after all the hard work you've done so far. I would wait until after you graduate. Does anypony have any objection to that?" She asked as she looked at the other adults to see what they thought.

 

Quick nodded. "I would have to agree with you mother on this one, son. While it would be nice having grandchildren, I think it would be best to wait until after graduating for that to happen."

Orange blushes deeply but also couldn't help but giggle at Dynamo's reaction. At Gentle's question, she shakes her head to signify that she didn't have any objections and she smiles as she sips on her sparkling strawberry cider.

 

Both Chocolate and Candy nod "No objections from us either, I think it is a good plan to wait until after graduation, " he says and pours a small amount of champagne for Dynamo "Here you go son, I'd give Orange some, but she's quite happy with the non alcoholic stuff"

 

Orange nods in agreement, she didn't really see the appeal of alcohol.

Dynamo nod agreement at what his mother had told him. "I understand mom and I don't mind waiting. I want to finish school first anyway. That way I can spend the rest of my life with Orange by my side." He said as he takes the drink from Chocolate and nods in appreciation. "Thank you Uncle Chocolate. Like I said, I'm not much of a drinker, but my mom always tells me I can have some. It's only this one time because it's a special occasion." Dynamo took a sip of his champagne and grimaced a bit, but managed to swallow his drink.

 

Gentle smiled and sighed in relief. "Thank you everypony. I was afraid there would be some mixed reactions and/or answers, but thankfully we all have come into agreement. The only other thing I can think of is where they would go for their honeymoon. I would say the same thing on them going after graduation. It would be a sort of graduation gift for the two of them. However, is there any place you two would like to go on your honeymoon?" Dynamo looked at Orange and shrugged his shoulders. "Honestly, I don't really care where we go. All that matters to me is that Orange is with me and that she's happy. That's all I really want." He smiled and blushed at his fiancee.

Candy and Chocolate both nod "It's no problem dear" she says as she begins to cut up a little bit of the ham and pork for Starling "Only little bits Starling, that's all you can have right now, but you can have more of the fruit salad for dinner" she coos to her

 

Starling nods and hugs her mother

 

Chocolate sighs softly "She's so sweet and loving, who on Equestria would abandon such a cute little filly?" he asks to apparently no one

Quick's ears perked at what Chocolate had said. He looked over to his best friend while shrugging his shoulders. "It's a complete mystery. Sometimes I wish we could find out who it was and ask why. Then I realize that it doesn't matter because she's found one great big happy family." Gentle nodded and looked at the small bat filly. "She's truly a lucky little filly. I couldn't think of a better family for her to live with than us or even Night."

 

After finishing dinner, everypony placed their plates and utensils into the kitchen sink. They all moved into the living room and sat down to relax. Dynamo laid down on the couch and rested his head on Orange's lap. "I think I ate too much food." Dynamo began to rub his belly in a circular motion.

 

Gentle giggled and shook her head. "It's not surprising with all the food you piled onto your plate." Dynamo sighed as he looked at his mom while raising a finger slightly in the air. "It was totally worth it though. Dinner was amazing."

Candy nods as she picks up the little filly who was yawning "I don't want to find out, I don't know what I'd do to them" she says, nuzzling the filly. "Time for bed sweetie" she says

 

Starling nods sleepily and reaches out for Dynamo and Orange, "I'll tuck you in sweetie, and they'll be up shortly to say goodnight" she says as she carries her up to the spare room, "Oh um Gentle? Do you..have a cot I could use?"

 

Orange smiles down at Dynamo and runs her hand through his hair.

 

Just as Chocolate is about to help do the dishes, he hears the doors and answers it "Oh a letter for me and Candy from the orphange? Thank you" he says, paying miss Hooves then opens the letter, his eyes widen.

Noticing that Starling was being put to bed, Gentle turned towards Dynamo and Orange. "I guess it's about time for bed for the both of you as well." Dynamo shook his head, but a yawn escaped from his lips. Quick chuckled to himself. "I guess having some of that ham made you tired son. That's what happens, especially when it comes to having turkey. Plus it's been a long day and we've got to pack tomorrow."

 

Gentle nodded at Candy. "Don't worry, dear. I have a guest room for you and Chocolate to use."

 

Dynamo smiled and closed his eyes, as the feeling of Orange running her fingers through his mane felt good. He opened his eyes as a thought occurred to him. "Hey mom? Where is Orange going to sleep?" A small smirk appeared on Gentle's lips as she giggled. "Oh, don't worry dear. I've got that taken care of, but I need to make sure of something first." 

 

Quick noticed Chocolate answering the door and receiving a letter. "What does the letter say, Chocolate? Is everything okay?" He asked with concern for his friend.

Orange was fast asleep, curled up and sucking on her mane a little as she curled around one of Starling's plushies. "smells like little sister" she says softly in her sleep.

 

Candy nods "Alright thank you dear, you always were the more organized of us three" she giggles

 

Chocolate nods "The mare who owns and runs the orphanage did some research, Starling wasn't abandoned, but she's an orphan, in the literal sense. There was a fire and her home was engulfed, she was the only one to escape as she was playing outside and her mother and father had gone in to try and find her kittens...It would also seem that she has a few..disabilities"

Gentle smiled and nodded. "Your welcome and it's no problem. I always had a habit of being organized. Sometimes a bit too organized." She giggled, but then had a somewhat serious look on her muzzle. "I do have a question. Since there's a spare room for you, Chocolate and Starling, what do you say about Orange being in Dynamo's room? Would that be okay? After all, they are getting married and are going to share a room."

 

Hearing this caused Dynamo to blush, but he smiled softly as he looked at the sleeping form of his fiancee.

 

Quick becomes shocked at the news on the little bat filly. "So...she did have a family? Did they say what caused the fire? Also what kind of disabilities does she have?" He asked becoming more and more curious by the minute.

Candy smiles "I think that would be alright, I trust Dynamo" she says softly and nods as she cradles her baby girl in her arms. "My precious little one" she says softly

 

Chocolate nods as he reads the letter "Autism, well that explains that, possible PTSD, and..oh, the fire was caused by faulty wiring"

Quick nodded and sighed in relief. "It's good to hear it wasn't caused intentionally by an individual. I can see how Orange and Starling can get along very well based on Autism. I can also guess the fire would cause Starling to have PTSD. That still doesn't change anything. She'll always be my favorite little niece." He said placing a hand on Chocolate's shoulder.

 

Gentle smiled. "Thank you Candy. I felt it would be okay, but I wanted to run it by you and Chocolate. Speaking of which, what do you think Chocolate? Would it be okay for Orange to share a room with Dynamo since they're getting married?" She asked, giving him the puppy dog eyes as her lip quivered.

 

Quicked chuckled and shook his head at Chocolate. "You're in trouble now, buddy. No one can stand up to Gentle when she does that. That's why I can never win in an argument with her."

Chocolate sighs and rolls his eyes "So that's where Candy learned to do it, thanks Gentle" he says somewhat sarcastically but laughs at the same time. "I don't have a problem with it at all, Dynamo is a very trustworthy colt, and besides, I think we'd have a hard time separating Orange from him from now on" he chuckles, and then nods at Quick "and our favorite little batfilly" he then thinks "She's going to need a tutor though, I don't think she should go to a mainstream school"

Gentle giggles as she raises her hand to high five Candy. "That's true. Those two will always be together. I don't think there will be anypony to separate them at this point. I don't know why, but I have this feeling. I think their love will last forever. It's just like how it happened for me and Quick. I also even remember saying it to you and Candy. Even after years pass and they move on from the world, I think their love will be reborn and be found again in new love. True love like this is rare and difficult to find and hold onto." She places a hand over her heart and smiled softly at the young couple.

 

Quick sits on the arm on the couch and takes one of Gentle's hands into his own. "I remember you telling me that and look at us now. Married after all this time, having our son, and the events that led up until now. If that's not true love sweetheart, then I don't know what is. I love you Gentle." He leaned in and gave her a loving kiss. Gentle reciprocates the action and leans into her husband. "I love you too dear. I always will." Quick scratched his chin as he closed his eyes in thought. "Well, I would say Dynamo could tutor her as well. Depending on the school she goes to in Manehatten, she could have a tutor there. It's a bit early to tell, but at least there are options open for us." He opened his eyes as he addressed Chocolate.

 

Dynamo sits up from Orange's lap and walks over to his parents, aunt and uncle. "I think I'm going to head off to bed. I love you mom and dad. I love you Aunt Candy and Uncle chocolate. Thank you for everything." He gave each of them a hug before walking back to Orange and picking her up bridal style. He then headed upstairs and into his room. He then placed her gently on his bed before heading over the light switch to turn off the lights. He also opened the door a bit in case Starling needed them. He then got on the bed and brought Orange over so that her head was resting on his chest. He wrapped his arms around her as he pulled the blanket over them. "Good night, Orange. I love you." He kissed her forehead before letting sleep consume him with a smile on his face.

Candy nods "It sure seems that way doesn't it darling?" she asks and leans into her husband;s embrace "I'm pretty sure we were about the same age as Dynamo and Orange when we first met" she says in thought and hugs Dynamo goodnight, giggling as he picks Orange up bridal style. "Just like how Chocolate used to pick me up when we were younger" she giggles.

 

Chocolate nods "You're right, this sure does look like the type of love that the four of us share" he says, hugging his wife lovingly then hugs Dynamo "Goodnight son, you sleep well alright?" he says and goes back to hugging Candy and nods "I guess we will see, maybe Night knows somepony who could teach her" he says in thought and kisses his wife on the cheek. "Still, the whole faulty wires seems a bit of..a cop out, I know somepony who cloud look further into it"

 

Orange giggles as she is picked up bridal style by Dynamo, she simply just nuzzles into his chest as he carries her to bed, waving goodnight to her parents and aunt and uncle.

 

Once Dynamo and Orange had gone to bed, Chocolate looks to Candy and she nods. She goes over to Quick and Gentle "Quick, Gentle, there is something the two of us would like to discuss with you"

Gentle watched as he son carried Orange up to bed and sighed happily. Quick gave Dynamo the thumbs up, knowing his son did a good job. Gentle's ears perked as she heard Candy. "You know when you think about it, I think they were the same age when we all met." As Quick nodded at Gentle's thought he put a finger to his chin in thought. "You think it could have been somepony who made the faulty wiring? I was going to throw that possibility away since it didn't seem likely. Also that's true. Hearing that Night is a generous type of pony could help Starling out if she needs help." Gentle twiddled her thumbs around in nervousness. "What if...what if it was that circus group Luna was talking about." Seeing her husband gain a confused look on her face, she continued. "That's right dear. You left when Luna was explaining it to everypony. There's this circus organization and they take children and keep them locked away. I know it seems a bit out there, but you can't be too sure." Seeing Candy and Chocolate look serious made Gentle and Quick feel nervous. "What is it, Candy?" Quick nodded as he stared at Chocolate. "Yeah, is something wrong Chcolate?"

"First of all" Chocolate says "You could be right about the circus thing, I'll get Roxy onto it, she'll be able to find out"  he then holds Candy's hands and smiles at them "Nothing is wrong mate, but..this whole thing with Starling, it got us thinking, if anything were to happen to us, we want Orange and Starling to be able to have loving parents, so.." he looks to Candy

 

"We would like to ask if you'd be their legal guardians"

Both Gentle and Quick sighed in relief that nothing was wrong. Their worried look turned into a confused, yet hopeful look. "I'm not entirely sure who this Roxy is, but I trust them." Quick said before they listened to their request. Hearing that they were to be the legal guardians of Orange and Starling brought them to tears. They looked at each other before wiping their tears as they each had a smile on their face. The nodded before looking back at Candy and Chocolate. "You know the answer would be yes. I would love to be the guardians of the two of them. Only on one condition..." She felt Quick take her hand in his.

 

"If anything were to happen to Gentle and I, would you Dynamo's legal guardians."

Candy squeals and hugs Gentle while Chocolate simply nods "Sentimental old fool, don't get mushy on me now" he says softly with a chuckle then nods as does Candy "Of course, we'd be honored to be his legal guardians, but let us hope that nothing happens to any of us" he says and picks up his champagne glass and sips on what was left "Mmm, I suppose we have a little more time before we hit the hay, how about a board game or something pal? Like old times?"
