After gathering his bearings Dynamo sat up in his chair once more. He heard what Candy had told him and nodded in understanding. He brushed some of Orange's hair out of her face and smiled at her. "It's okay sweetheart. It's like I said that it's no worries. It was an accident and I can never be mad at you. Now come on, where's that smile that I love so much." He said as he began to tickle Orange. After seeing her smile from the tickle torture he grinned happily. "There it is. Everything is going to be okay. I love you Orange." He leaned in and kissed her cheek.

 

Gentle smiled at Candy and was happy that she was able to reconnect with her friends. She placed her hand over the phone again as she shot a glance at Candy and Orange. "Orange dear, how long is summer break for you two? Also based on that, how long do you want to stay down in Manehatten, Candy?"

Orange blushes and nuzzles  him "O-okay" she says then looks to Gentle "Uhm, I believe summer is about four months long" (I have no idea how long summer holidays are in America) she says and looks to her mother with a soft smile.

 

Candy smiles "Two weeks?" she asks then nods "Yes, two weeks sounds nice, that way Orange, Starling and Dynamo can meet and spend some quality time with aunt Night and cousin" she says with a soft smile.

Dynamo nuzzled Orange back and smiled lovingly at her. Gentle was tapping her finger in the air as if she were using an invisible calculator. "Four months of summer plus two weeks of vacation, huh? That sounds like it could work." She said in a mumbled tone. She looked at the mother and daughter in front of her before smiling. "That sounds perfect. That'll give the children enough time to interact and have fun exploring Manehatten." She took her hand off of the speaker part of the phone to resume her chat with Night. "Sorry about that Night. Just making sure there's no last minute changes in the plan. The children get out of school for summer break at the end of next Friday. We can visit the start of that weekend and spend two weeks in Manehatten. Would that work?" She asked as she explained the finalized version of the plan.

Night smiles "two weeks sounds absolutely perfect, and  I simply cannot wait to see you and your darling families, little Lilly is looking forward to it too" he says with a smile "Oh, some more business has come up, give my love to Candy will you? kisses!" she says kissing the receiver and hanging up. 

 

orange giggles and then takes Dynamo's hand "I wanna show you my plushies" she says with a giggle and takes him up to her room.

 

Chocolate smiles "It is really nice to see my little one so happy"

Gentle grinned as the preparations were set. "Excellent and I can't wait for all of our families to meet. It'll feel just like old times. I can't wait to see little Lily." She said with a giggle. "I understand. We'll call to let you know when we are leaving next week and will do. Hugs and kisses. See you soon." She said as she kissed into the receiver and hung up. She sighed as she put her phone away before looking at Candy. "Well the plans have been set. By the end of next week, both families are going on vacation!" She said as she pumped a fist in the air and smiled while closing her eyes.

 

Dynamo smiled as Orange grabbed his hand. "Okay. I can't wait to see your plushies." He said as she lead him up to her room.

 

"Sounds like she's going to be even more happy when every one of our families meet." Quick said as he looked over to Chocolate. 

 

Gentle opened her eyes in realization from what Orange had said. "Since Orange is showing Dynamo her plushies, want to give little Starling her surprise?" She said to candy with a wink

Candy smiles "excellent, and it will be just like old times" she says with a soft sigh and helps Starling out of her highchair, "aaw look at her, all tuckered out, should we call Dynamo and Orange down for the gifts?" she asks with a soft smile.

 

Chocolate smiles "It'll be wonderful, and i think that's a good idea" he says as he goes up to Orange's room and knocks on the door "Orange, Dynamo, we're going to give Starling her gifts, wanna come downstairs?" he asks softly

 

Orange giggles "yes please daddy"

Gentle notices Starling looking a little tired and smiled at how cute she was being. "I guess it's gotten really late. It has been a long and emotional day after all. I guess after we give her the gifts we should probably go." She said after giving it much thought.

 

Dynamo's eyes widened a bit in surprise at the plan. "I almost forgot about that. Guess we should head down. Shall we?" He said as he offered his hand to Orange. The young couple walked downstairs and headed into the living room to join their parents and sister. "I really liked your plushies and you've got a pretty good collection. I've got a collection myself from the conventions I've been to. Maybe I can show you sometime." He said as he took a seat on the couch.

Candy nods "It's been an absolute pleasure seeing you again darling, and I am so very happy that I did" she says as she smiles at Orange, Dynamo and Chocolate arriving back to the living room "Starling, sweetie, wake up, we have a surprise for you" she says gently

 

Starling yawns "W-what is it mummy?" she asks and looks to everypony and crawls out of Candy's arms to Gentle "huggle?" she asks cutely, holding up her arms.

 

"I'll go get them" she says as she ducks out into her room and arrives with the wrapped up plushies behind her back "close your eyes"

 

"O-okay mummy" she says as she does so

Gentle watched as Starling crawled to her and held her arms up. "Of course sweetheart. Oh, you are just adorable. It was so nice getting to meet you." She said as she wrapped Starling up in a hug and nuzzled the little filly.

 

Gentle saw Candy leave and return with the gifts behind her back. As Candy walked up to them and pulled the gifts from behind her back, she placed them where Starling could see them. "Okay sweetheart, you can open your eyes now." She said as the young filly began opening her eyes at the gifts.

She squeals happily as she unwraps the wolf and pups one first "T-they're so cute!" she says happily and hugs them all, then her eyes move to the rather large one, she gently places the wolf and her pups down and goes to unwrap it "UNIKITTY!" she squeals and giggles happily, hugging it lovingly.

 

Candy smiles and hugs her "they're all welcome to your new family gifts from everypony here"

Gentle smiled at the young filly's excitement. "It's nice to know that she really loves them. You picked out some really good ones Candy. You always had good taste when it came to picking out things." She said as turned to Candy and voiced her opinions.

 

Dynamo chuckled at how his sister was acting. "It's just like me when I find an anime figure or a plush. It's really sweet how there's one that represents each of us." He said as he smiled.

Candy nods and scoops up her little one along with her plushies "Indeed, it is wonderful to see her happy like this" she says "Now come on sweetie, say goodbye to your big brother and aunt and uncle, they need to go home soon" she says.

 

Starling pouts a little but nods, as she reaches out to hug each of them "Big brother come over tomorrow?" she asks

Dynamo, Gentle and Quick smiled as each of them gave little Starling a hug. Gentle nuzzled the little filly. "I love you my little star. Be a good little filly. I'll see you again soon." Quick patted her head as his smile turned into a grin. "It was nice to see you little Starling. Don't be afraid to come visit your uncle Quick, okay? I'll put on a comedy show and make you laugh like no tomorrow." He said jokingly as he laughed.

 

Dynamo smiled softly at his little sister. "I'm not sure on what the plan is, but it'll most likely be a yes. I love seeing and spending time with you and your big sister." He said as he felt her hug him a little tighter in happiness. As he let go of the hug, Dynamo walked over to Orange and gave her a kiss and a hug. "It was nice seeing you again sweetheart. Thanks for another great day. Also, should we ask your parents about the convention?" He asked as he gave her a curious look.

Starling hugs them all and curls up in her mother's arms, swiftly falling asleep as she snuggles all her new plushies.

 

Candy smiles at Gentle "Gentle, before you go, how about using that beautiful voice of yours to sing our little one to sleep?" she asks, gently petting the little one's mane and ears, "I think it would mean a whole lot to her."

 

Orange giggles "How about tomorrow? when things have settled down?" she asks, "I-I'm still a little overwhelmed" she says softly.

Gentle smiled as she looked at the young filly in Candy's arms "It would be an honor to sing for her. Is there any song you recommend? I'm drawing a blank on what to sing to the little sweetheart." She said with a lost look on her muzzle.

 

Dynamo smiled and nodded, before replying, "Okay and I understand. Tomorrow sounds great to me."

"Do you remember that little song your mother used to sing to us when we were little and had sleep overs at your place?" Candy asks "I'm sure she'd love that one" she says, holding the little filly close to her.

 

Orange nods and begins to yawn "A l-little sl-eepy too" she says and hugs him, "I love you D-Dynamo" she says softly.

Gentle gasped softly as the song Candy talked about was coming back to her. "That's a song that I will never forget. I remember when Dynamo was little I sang the same exact song. This is a song I know she'll love." She said as she closed her eyes and began to sing.

 

 

As she was singing, she noticed Starling snuggling her plushies and smiled at the sight of it. As the song came to an end, Gentle walked up and lightly kissed Staling on her head. "Pleasant dreams and I love you my little Star."

 

Dynamo could see the tired look in Orange's eyes and yawned from her yawn. "I'm feeling a little tired myself and the yawn is contagious." He said with a light chuckle. "I love you too Orange." He said as he returned the hug and nuzzles her lightly.

Candy closes her eyes and thinks back to the times when she and her friends were little and would sleep over at Gentle's parents' house. That song always made her smile, and after Gentle finished singing, Candy wipes away her tears and hugs her "I've always loved that song" she says and tucks Starling into her bed and kisses her forehead "May Luna bring you pleasant dreams"

 

Orange giggles and hugs him one more time, "See you tomorrow love" she says softly as Chocolate scoops her up

 

"come on sweetie, I'll read you your favorite bed time story"

After tucking Candy in for bed, Gentle hugged her best friend once more. "Thanks again for today. It was truly great seeing my friend again. I hope to see you again sometime." She said in a whisper so she wouldn't wake up Starling.

 

Quick shook Chocolate's hand and smiled. "It was really nice to meet you Chocolate. I promise I'll let you know as soon as I check for those parts."

 

Dynamo returned the hug and kissed her cheek once more. "See you tomorrow. Good night my love." He said with a smile as Chocolate scooped Orange up.

 

Dynamo and his parents showed themselves out of the candy shop and were walking home. Quick wrapped an arm around Gentle as Dynamo was walking in front of his parents, a grin forming on his muzzle. "Today was amazing. It was great spending time with Orange and her family and I even made friends with Spike and Twilight. I was also able to find the books I wanted." He said as he turned his head to look back at his parents. He held the books under his arms as he walked.

 

Gentle smiled at Dynamo, glad that things worked out for everypony. "That's great sweetheart. I'm so glad you were able to make some new friends. I still can't believe that I saw Candy again after all this time." She said as she giggled. Quick pulled Gentle closer to her and looked at her with a smile. "I'm really glad to see you so happy today. You deserved it and it's good to know our son found himself somepony truly special." Quick said as Gentle smiled and nodded at her husband's response.

The next morning, Candy and Chocolate both wake up to find both Orange and Starling curled up in between them, Candy smiles and kisses their foreheads then says to Chocolate "You stay here with them, I'll go cook us breakfast" she says with a soft smile.

 

Chocolate nods "Alright sweetheart" he says as he gently strokes his fillies manes and ears

//Time Skip

 

The next morning Quick was making breakfast while Gentle was dusting the house. She hummed and giggled to herself, feeling happy about the events that took place yesterday.

 

In Dynamo's room, the young colt was tossing and turning in his sleep. He awoke with a shout and shot upright in his bed. He was breathing quickly from the night terror he had. He placed his hand over his chest to get his breathing under control. After getting himself to calm down, he heard his alarm clock begin to go off. He turned it off before placing his face in his hands. 'What in Equestria was that? What was that dream telling me?' He thought as he looked over to his desk. He saw the first book closed while the second was stacked on the third, opened to the advanced spells. 'Huh, maybe it was from all that late night studying. Never doing that again.' He chuckled lightly as he wouldn't keep that promise.

 

Gentle went to the steps that lead up to Dynamo's room and called out to him. "Dynamo are you up? It's time for breakfast! Your father has made some waffles!" Dynamo laid back down in his bed and groaned, still tired from having his night terror. "Five more minutes mom, please?" Gentle sighed and shook her head before giggling. She walked away from the stairs and back into the kitchen to have breakfast. Dynamo sighed happily as his mom let him rest some more. Dynamo placed a hand over his eyes to try and fall back asleep, but his stomach had other ideas. He groaned in disappointment before getting up out of bed. He yawned and stretched before heading downstairs and into the kitchen.

 

As he sat in his chair, Quick handed him a small stack of waffles. "There you go buddy. You better eat up." He said as he went back to the stove to make more waffles. "Yes sir." Dynamo said in a mock salute before taking a bite into his breakfast. "This is really good. You've really outdone yourself dad." He said as he lightly smiled to his dad. Quick grinned and raised his spatula into the air with his hoof. "It does a father proud to hear that from his loved ones. I know how to make a mean waffle!" Gentle giggled and nodded at her husband's antics. "You sure do dear. You sure do."

Orange soon woke up to the rumbling of her stomach and she smiles as she slowly opens her eyes and begins to snuggle up to her father and little sister.

 

"Good morning there sweetheart, did you sleep well?" He asks, gently stroking her mane and rubbing her ears.

 

She nods "Yes daddy" she says with a cute and adorable little yawn, "But I did have a nightmare about Dynamo" she says softly and nuzzles him.

 

"Oh, that's not good, but I am sure that he is fine dear, he's a strong colt" Chocolate says and smiles as Candy comes up to their room with a tray of their breakfasts.

Gentle noticed there was still a lot of waffles left on Dynamo's plate "Are you okay sweetheart? It looks like you haven't been eating as much as you say you have? Is something wrong?" She asked with a look of concern on her muzzle.

 

Dynamo's ears perked up at the question and turned to face Gentle. "Huh? Oh, uh...yeah I'm fine. I'm still just a little tired from some late night studying. I got really interested, you know?" He said hoping his parents would buy the excuse. His father turned away from making breakfast to look at his son. "Are you sure you're okay? You know you can always tell us if something is wrong."

 

Dynamo nodded his head at his father's concern. "Yeah I'm sure dad. Also you don't have to worry. If something is wrong I'll always come to you two for help." He said as both parents nodded and ended it at that. Dynamo sighed as his parents stopped worrying about it. As he took another bite of his breakfast, he closed his eyes. 'I can't let them know. I don't want anypony to put up with my burden. This night terror will stop and I won't have to worry about anything.' He thought to himself.

 

"So are there any plans for you and Orange today? Gentle asked with a smile as she winked at Dynamo. "I'm not too sure. We never really talked about it last night. Whatever it is, I'm just really glad to spend time with her and Starling." He said as he opened his eyes and smiled at Gentle.

Orange smiles as she gets her breakfast and begins eating "Mummy, can I borrow your phone please?" she asks as Candy nods and hands it to her "thank you" she says as she then dials Dynamo's number. When he answers she sighs "Dynamo, I..we need to go see Miss Luna, I..had a really bad nightmare last night" she says softly.

 

Starling eeps and snuggles up to her "Big sis sis not be scared"

As Dynamo was finishing up his breakfast, his phone rang. He picked it up and saw the caller was Orange. He accepted the call, but could hear her sigh. He started becoming worried for his girlfriend. "Hey good morning sweetheart. You had a nightmare too huh? Are you going to be okay? We can to Luna's if you want. I completely understand." He said with concern in his voice. 'Maybe Miss Luna can help me with my nightmare. It might have some meaning behind it.' He thought to himself.
