SymphonySketch 12 September 9, 2016 Share September 9, 2016 (edited) I did a thing! (Base used) It's one of my many OCs and her name is Candy Corn (yay for laziness!) This is just one of many things I'll post here! Have a vinyl scratch! This is the first drawing I've done without a base I'm so happy Edited September 9, 2016 by SymphonySketch
Sarge Sixteenbit 287 September 11, 2016 Share September 11, 2016 I think you did well in, not just the proportions, but also the conception of the original character above. My only criticisms are the visible sketch marks and the uneven coloring. However, in your DJ PON3 pic, the muzzle seems to be stretched outward a bit too far. Not to mention the excessive horn length and oddly tiny ear length You have great potential! Just work on a few things - Sketch lighter and erase as you ink. Visible sketch marks and indentures caused by pressure can hurt the aesthetics. - When you're not using a base, always draw out the basic shapes of a character to get proportions right before you add the "skin" - get some loose leaf or any paper you can draw on, but also find to be disposable and practice drawing muzzles, mouths and any other parts of the body you feel you can improve upon - Lastly, with coloring, it's best that you mark lightly and to keep your strokes going in the same general direction. Judging from what I see, you appear to use colored pencils. The marks of these can be layered easily for thicker color, so just keep the marks, light, take your time and add another layer if the color isn't thick enough the first time. Remember, it's easier to add layers than it is to remove them. I hope this helps DevianArt Youtube
