A Brony's Wish

Thank you soo much everypony for the positive feedback By the way, the character is a girl. I know, it should be Pegasister, but I just call them bronies.

 

Chapter 1

 

I walked back from my work at the video store of my small town. I could feel raindrops beginning to fall, and put on my hood - like it would help. My long brown hair fell down from the sides. Although the town is small, my house was almost way on the other side of town from the video store. I could never afford a car, barely anyone here had one either. This place was crumbling, but at least I'm able to survive in it.

Nothing is really bright in this place. The only thing that keeps me from depression is My Little Pony. It started when I was browsing the Internet one day, when a picture of the new my little ponies came up on a forum user. I knew that it was targeted for little girls, but I decided to give it a go anyway. I found myself completing both seasons. The show was amazing. I don't care who it's targeted for, I love ponies. Pinkie Pie is my favourite. When her friends are down, she's there to cheer them up, not giving up on anything.

I finally got to my house, opening the old, creaky door. It had been mine since not long ago, I'm 20, and left the orphanage when I was 16. Yes, orphanage. My parent's apparently couldn't afford to take care of me, and decided to dump me off at some half-run down orphanage. I guess I left because of the hate towards my parents. It was hard for me to leave the caring lady there, but I had to.

I turned on my computer, a wallpaper of Pinkie Pie instantly pouring light on my face. Suddenly a pop up appeared on my screen. The name of the window looked like it was in a different language, and so was the writing on it, but the picture beside it caught my attention.

It was Princess Celestia.

 

Chapter 2

 

I looked at the icon, confused. Was a brony hacking my computer? Was it from a pony website I visited? The world suddenly became dizzy, and by force, my eyes were slowly closing. Am I dying? What's going on? My thoughts went blank as everything slowly faded to black.

I could feel my senses kicking back in, but I couldn't open my eyes. I heard murmurs, which slowly grew into normal speech as if the voices were right beside me. I tried to ask "Who's there?" But my mouth felt too heavy to move. "Princess, we came as fast as we-" The voice was cut off by many gasps. Princess? Why did that voice sounds so familiar? "Princess Celestia? Who- WHAT is this?" The same voice asked. Then a royal voice spoke. "My student, I'll explain later. Right now..." Student? It can't be...

Suddenly all the pain left my body, my hazel eyes snapped open, and my mouth slightly. I moved my jaw around to get comfortable then looked up into the eyes of Princess Celestia.

 

Chapter 3

 

 

Shock prevented me from speaking. My mouth was hanging half open. I snapped it shut. What's happening? I'm here with Princess Celestia, sprawled out on the floor as if someone had knocked me out. I looked behind me to see Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack.

Now I know I'm dreaming. But the silence wasn't long. Princess Celestia's voice made my head snap back to her. "Hello, human. Welcome to Equestria. I'm sure you have many questions, and I'll do my best to answer them." I stood up, surprisingly quickly. I was about as tall as the princess. I looked down to find my hands cartoon-like, as of the rest of me. Looking back up, I finally spoke. "Is this a dream?" I asked. The princess shook her head. "No, it isn't. It may seem surprising to you, but trust me. This is all real." To test that, I pinched the top of my hand, to find pain. This was real. "But... How!? How is this possible!? I don't even..." I broke myself off. The princess smiled a little. "A portal opened up here, right where your standing. I could only get so close before it shocked me. Then you were thrown out of it. After realization from my studies your a human, I quickly sent these 6 over." I looked back. The mane 6 have been looking up at me the whole time. I didn't know what to do. Turning back to Celestia, I asked; "But... studies? There have been humans here before?"

"Well, yes. Only one, actually. He gave us tons of information about humans. If I'm not mistaken, stories about us are broadcasted on 'television'?" Celestia asked. That explains why she didn't introduce herself or the mane 6. "Yes, it's an amazing show." I smiled, then turned back to the mane 6. "You wouldn't believe how many fans you 6 have." They looked surprised. Celestia walked to be beside them. "So what am I going to do?" They were probably guessing I wanted to go home, but that was all wrong. I wanted to stay, stay forever with the ponies. People wouldn't even care. Sure, maybe one person would call a search, but it would all be useless. "Whatever you want to do. Do you wish to return to your world?" I shook my head right away. "I'm experiencing what other bronies can only dream of! I'm not leaving." Celestia nodded thoughtfully. "Very well. Do you wish to have a tour?" She asked. "Yes, please!" I said. I was going to be toured around a place only seen on TV! "Very well." She looked down at the 6 ponies. "Why don't you wait outside, we won't be long." They agreed in murmurs, then all went outside. "Well then, let's begin." Celestia said.

 

Chapter 4

 

The castle was absolutely amazing. She showed me the party room, the Royal Yard where the statue of Discord lay, the largest bathroom, which was about the size of a house, and then the bedrooms. "This is my bedroom." The princess said, opening the door.

I stared in amazement. She had many glass ornaments hanging from the ceiling, and a beautiful white dresser. Her bed was king-sized, maybe even bigger, and had an enlargement of her cutie mark on the blanket. There was a glass door leading to a balcony. "Wow..." I said. "Yes, quite in good shape for 1000 years." She said jokingly. "I would show you Luna's room, but she's asleep." I gave her a confused look. "Asleep? But it's the middle of the day..." I asked. "Yes, Luna being the princess of the night, she must stay up all night. Because of that, Luna only has time to rest in daytime." Stupid me. "Oh." I said sheepishly. "I'm sure Twilight and the others are waiting for you. They'll show you around Canterlot. And when your done, we have a spare room in the castle for you to stay in." Celestia said. "By the way, I never got your name." I smiled "It's Emma. And that would be great, thank you princess." She accompanied me to the bottom of the stairs, then left me to, rather nervously, pass the guards, and go outside to see 6 ponies waiting in silence.

Twilight looked up at me. "Uh, hello! I'm Twilight Sparkle. Sorry for not introducing myself earlier, I couldn't believe a human had actually came to Equestria." She held out her hoof, smiling nervously. I bent down and shook it. "And I'm Rarity, pleased to meet you." Rarity said in her posh accent. Shaking her hoof, I smiled, hoping that it wasn't creepy-looking. My heart was pounding, but I tried to contain myself. "HI!" Pinkie Pie suddenly yelled. I was about to hold out my hand when she suddenly wrapped her arms around my waist. Aww. When she let go, she looked up at me innocently. "I'm Pinkie Pie!" She said. "Howdy there, I'm Applejack." She held out her hoof, and I shook it. "Sup? I'm Rainbow Dash." Said the pegasus. She was hovering over the other ponies, and curled her hoof a little. I formed my hand into a fist, and we brohoofed. What isn't more awesome than brohoofing Rainbow Dash? Finally, it was Fluttershy's turn. Twilight had to literally push her forward. "Um, hi there. I-I'm Fluttershy." She said, so quietly I could barely hear her. She didn't hold out her hoof to shake it.

All of this introduction was pointless, I knew the ponies and their personalities by heart. But I enjoyed it anyway. "I'm Emma. It's nice to finally meet you all." Twilight turned her head slightly. "Finally? You've heard of us before?" I nodded. "In my world, your famous worldwide. Your broadcasted on television. It's a box that humans use to watch things." The ponies let out "Oohs". "Interesting. But we should get going on the tour." Twilight said. Agreeing, we set off to the main street. "This is the bakery, over there is the saddle shop, that's the cafe where all the pony celebrities go to eat, this is the fountain in the middle of the city..." Twilight's words became a background noise as I looked at all the ponies around me. They gave me weird looks as we walked, some even stopped dead. I could recognize many of them. Diamond Mint, Lemon Hearts, Minuette, Twinkleshine, and even Lyra Heartstrings. Lyra was sitting on a bench by the fountain, sitting like a normal pony. She was glaring at me, then her gaze lowered to my hands. Maybe the fandom about her wanting hands of her own is true. "....And that's it!" Twilight's louder voice brought me back. "I guess we should head back now, it's getting late." I nodded. "Right. Let's go."

When we got back, Celestia showed me to my room. It was upstairs, in the same hall as the two princesses. It was a medium-sized room, not as grand as Celestia's but still amazing. The sheets were plain white, and it too had a balcony. She left me, closing the door with a silent click. My smile couldn't grow any bigger. But I couldn't help wonder: "What if I do want to go back later?" I simply shrugged it off and threw myself onto my bed to be entered in a deep sleep.

 

Chapter 5

 

I woke up almost as instantly as I had fallen asleep. I opened my eyes, panicking for a moment. Where am I? I thought. Then I remembered. Oh yea. Equestria. My mind was refilled with the memories of my conversation with Princess Celestia and the mane 6. I looked out the window to see the last of the moon going down. As quietly as I could, I got up, and opened my door. As I closed it and turned around, I almost ran into Princess Luna, who was just a little shorter than me. "Oh, hello." She said, staggering back a little. "I'm Princess Luna. You must be the human Celestia was talking about." I nodded. "I'm Emma." I said. What surprised me a little is that she made no new movement to acknowledge my name. She simply kept the hard stare she had, looking slightly up at me. "Charmed to meet you. Sorry for not staying, but I must get back to my room. I've been up all night." She said. "Oh, sorry for keeping you up then." I said, kinda feeling guilty. She shook her head. "Oh, it's quite fine. Good day, Emma." And she trotted off into the room beside mine, shutting the door behind her with her magic. I tried to keep from squealing like a little girl. The Princess of the night! One of the ponies who had so little screen time yet so many fans. I managed to keep my cool, and headed down the stairs. Seconds later, I heard the sound of hooves coming nearer and nearer. I turned around to see Princess Celestia coming down the stairs. "Good morning, Emma. Would you prefer to stay in Canterlot for the day again or go to Ponyville?" Celestia asked. "Good morning to you too, princess. I think I would like to see Ponyville today." I said. Celestia smiled warmly, and just in time to see the rays of sunlight coming through the windows. "Good, there's a chariot outside." She nodded to 2 pegasi guards, who held the doors open. "See you later, Emma." She said. "See you." I said also, and went outside with the guards following me. Some unicorn guards helped hook them up to the chariot, and when I hopped on, they took a running start.

I would think we would fall to our deaths when they leaped off the cliff, but instead the chariot wobbled a bit, but stayed airbone. It felt weird, standing, but flying. They flew fast, so I had to hang on tightly to the edges. We flew higher, and higher, until we were just below the clouds. I lifted my hand, only for it to go straight through, leaving a dent. Weird I thought. I would have to get used to cartoon physics. Soon enough, Ponyville came into view and we made a descent. We landed, and I wobbled a bit getting off. I looked around, ponies were bustling, doing their daily jobs. Some stopped to stare at the weird looking creature who just arrived to Ponyville via chariot. I saw a familiar pink coat trotting towards me. "Hi there! I'm Pinkie Pie, you remember me right? We met yesterday in Canterlot! This is Ponyville where me and my friends live! Want a tour?" My eyes widened at the Earth Pony, who just gave a whole speech without inhaling a single breath. "Uh... Sure." I said. "Great! Follow me!" And the Pink Pony zipped off at the speed of a bullet. Then she peeked around a wall, giving me a confused look. She ran back. "Coming?" She asked. "Uh... yea." I walked along, following the pink pony as she bounded down the path. The stares of the many ponies burned into me. Don't feel ashamed, Emma. These ponies have never seen a human before. I reassured myself. But would they really accept me?

 

Chapter 6

 

"Here we have Sugar Cube Corner, home of the Cake family, also where I work! There's the Day Spa, where me and my friends like to hang out and just relax. That's Carousel Boutique, Rarity's shop and home. She's an awesome dress maker, she made everypony's dress for the Gala! This is Twilight's house, a library tree! It's also where I threw her amazing welcome party! That mean we HAVE to do one for you!" Pinkie Pie continued to speak faster than ever. I took in everything as it was handed to me. The pegasi clearing the sky, the ponies shopping and working, and the unicorns, well, almost same as the earth ponies but with magical horns. Then I noticed we were leaving town a little and were walking up a long, winding path. Up ahead was the unmistakable red barn of Sweet Apple Acres. As we entered, I could see Applejack smiling at us warmly, then concentrated on the tree she was bucking. One buck, and all of the apples came falling down into the buckets. "Phew! Now that that's done... Howdy! A'm Applejack, as ah introduced myself yesterday. Yer giving her a tour, huh Pinkie?" She turned her head to Pinkie, who nodded. "Yup! So far we've seen town centre, Twilight's Library, Rarity's Boutique, and Sugar Cube Corner." Applejack grinned. "Well, ye've come just in time fer some apple sweets!" she ringed a bell hung on a tree. "Granny Smith! Big Macintosh! Apple Bloom! Soup's on!" I looked at the house of the Apple family as 3 familiar ponies came out, all looking shocked at the new guest. "Hi... I'm Emma. I'm staying in Equestria." They looked at each other then nodded, as if it were totally normal for a creature that was never seen by ponykind before except one time was completely normal. "This here is Apple Bloom..." Applejack pointed her hoof at the little, blank flank filly. "Granny Smith...." The old green earth pony squinted as she looked up at me. "An' Big Macintosh!" She pointed at the tall, red colt. "Eeyup." Is all he said. She darted off, then soon came back with a table full of cider, fritters, pies, tarts, candy apples, and many more. "Well," She said. "Dig in!" On that word, the 5 ponies helped themselves to everything on the table, stuffing their face in it. I simply picked up an apple fritter, and ate it, trying not to get crumbs around my mouth. As Applejack's head came up, I saw her study my hands, and simply shrug.I've got to say, I'm quite impressed with these pony's acceptance.

I watched Pinkie walk sadly down the path of a cabin on the edge of Ponyville. "Guess Fluttershy isn't home. We'll have to visit her later." She said. "That's alright." I thought of what I could do now. My thoughts were interrupted by the pink pony gasping. "That reminds me! Wanna bake some cupcakes at Sugar Cube Corner later?" She grinned up at me innocently. "I'd love to Pinkie!" I smiled. Something to do, alright. "Great! Meet you there in an hour!" She trotted off. "One hour. Got it." I mumbled. I guess I could kill some time waiting by hanging out with the mane 6, since other ponies couldn't stop staring at me. As I walked into town centre, I tried to get the "baking cupcakes with Pinkie Pie" event stuck in my head. Then I remembered something.

Pinkie Pie.

Cupcakes.

Agreed, it definitely gives off the "My Little Dashie" feel too it. [Which I absolutly adored :")]

 

I really like the way you put a lot of thought into identifying the character's thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. Very good overall!

It sounds like it could undoubaly be a fantastic read, can't wait to read the whole thing!
