MLP MMO

i think it would be an interesting "side-scrolling, action platform-puzzle" (or platformer), like Trine or Ori or sth like that.. with switchable ponies, and changing characters depends on the level and story.. rpg, mmo.. it's not looking so great as it should be. imho.

p.s. and it should have a very good drawing, and current rpg's has a lack of that. so platformer totally wins it imo.

I'll be the one to crush everyone's dreams:

A finished MMO fanmade or official is very unlikely. While there is a team making a fanmade MMO, it'll never reach completion. The amount of work and money needed to run a full fledged MMO is too much for a team of fans with no way to fund servers to manage. They will either be C&D'd down the road, or realize that the undertaking is too much. Considering most of the MMO attempts with MLP have either gone bust already, or have been in development hell for years with no real great progress, I think that it is obvious that such MMOs will never be completed. If I recall Legends of Everfree has been in Alpha for years now with no signs of a final release.

As for an official release? Don't count on it. MMOs are sort of declining in popularity because they require a huge installbase to justify. They are one of the most expensive game genre's to make and are huge money sinks unless you get an active subscription base. It's hard to compete in a world where FF14, Elder Scrolls Online and WoW exist. Hasbro probably wouldn't see investing in an MMO as a worthy investment simply because of how much money they cost to build and maintain. MMOs remain of the riskiest business ventures for game companies.

I know I'll get a lot of "hate" for this, but it's the truth. Legends of Equestria will never be finished, and Hasbro will probably never make their own MMO. It's just not feasible for either of those things to happen. Odds are stacked against both. Even if Legends of Equestria manages to finish they will not be able to remain completely F2P with no microtransactions whatsoever unless they accept donations. And the amount of donations necessary to keep an MMO alive per month would be very high. The short version is simply: it's not likely that they will succeed. They are living in a fantasy world, because in the real world, you can't run an MMO on nothing, it's very very very very very difficult to do.
