Aww yee love me something smooth every now and again, normally I like harder stuff but when the day's long and I just wanna kick back...

 

At the moment I'm liking D'Angelo's CD from a couple years ago, especially this one, Iberian af:

Whoa there, that's a large number of genres to talk about! And I like pretty much all of them, as long as we're talking about the 70s or before.

 

With that said, I'm actually going to post music not from the 70s, because those are well-known. Instead I want to post some from the last decade that I really love:

 

 

I've posted them before, to be fair. I just like them so much. Their music sounds very genuine to me, even though they take it a lot heavier than is standard for the genre at times.

Have some lesser-known classic funk

The only women-led 'brass rock' group, I've ever been able to find. Obviously they're very much funk in this song.

And then some much less obscure classic soul. Mm. One of my favorite genres!
