Dusty smiled and shifted a bit. "Why of course! Not much to show in the village proper, but there's plenty to see around it. Ah'll show ya." He offered his hand and took her on a walk.

 

Crystal held a hand on Clarissa's shoulder. "As much as I'd like to see those two swooning for each other, maybe we should give them a moment in private..."

Celeste smiles and takes his hand "I am sure your town has a lot to offer" she says as she begins walking side by side with him Gosh he is exactly as big sister and cousin described him except even more handsome than i could ever imagine she thinks to herself and rests her head on his shoulder

 

Clare smiles and nods "Yes, how about we go find something to eat, I'm quite hungry" she says patting her stomach and winks to her fiance

Crystal gave the pair of love doves one last glance, then nodded at Clare with a playful look on her face. "Sure, let's get stuffed!" She extended her arm for Clarissa to take, and once she took it, the red mare bounced hips with the pegasus. "Soooo how long do you give them till they fall for each other completely and rush for marriage? I'd be surprised if they lasted a month of "just dating"..."

 

They walked back to the inn and Crystal aved at the chariot driver. "Hey, get the ride into the stable over there, and order yourself something to eat. My treat. Just no booze haha!" She gave him a wink and went to open the door for her love. Turns out she needed to put her shoulder to it this time, since they got a bit stuck.

Clare laughs "A month? you give Celeste too much credit" she says "If anything, she'd be all over him and smooching him already" she laughs "I know if I wasn't so unsure about our relations hip from the start, I would have been all over you in an instant" she says with a mischevious wink and waves to the Innkeeper, only to be tacklehugged by a small filly, "Hey there Rosey, I promised we'd be back, now didn't I?" she asks and hugs her back "Missed you too kiddo"

 

Meanwhile, Celeste was only just holding back her desire to tackle Dusty to the ground and cover him with kisses.

Crys considered her fiance's imput with a thoughtful expression. "All those years... at least these two won't spend years like fillies staring through the glass at the massive cake, when they could just buy it for themselves!" She gesticulated to mimick staring through the glass when she saw that Clare's attention has been stolen by a certain filly. Witha small smile, she approached the bar and leaned on it casually - the innkeeper was cleaning his wooden mugs.

 

"Seems like my mare's crazy plan worked after all. If Celeste were more straightforward, she'd drag him to the nearest haystack." She shrugged. "At least that's what I would do in her place." She tapped her temple as she recalled something. "Ah, nearly forgot - I told our driver to hide the chariot in the stables and have a meal at your place. Could you please add that to my bill? Me and Clare would also gladly eat something, whatever you have really. And a drink too, maybe cider if you have anything left..."

 

The stallion seemed a bit out of his element with how straightforward the mare have been, but nodded with a small smile and went into the kitchen. "I'll have something tasty, don't worry."

 

"Thanks!" The mare replied and turned around to face the chamber, still leaning on the bar with her elbows.

 

 

Rose Petal nodded, smooching her cheek into the pegasus leg. "You did, and you kept your promise! Promises are important, uh huh."

Clare gently strokes her mane "That's right, promises are important and even more important to keep" she says and kisses her forehead "Also, it seems you may be having a sister in law soon" she giggles and picks her up, hugging her closely. She then smiles and goes over to the innkeeper "Why not give this little lady anything she wants, it'll be on us" she says as she kisses Crystal's cheek and puts Rose on her lap, beginning to braid her mane for her.

The little filly giggled as the princess picked her up. "But I have a brother, not sister!" She obviously didn't get it just yet.

 

Clare caught the innkeeper as he showed up briefly to grab two mugs, and he shook his head with a warm smile. "You're spoiling her already? Little Rose knows she has to but tell when she wants to eat something, so there's no need to pay for what she already has, right? Besides, you're doing more for our community than the Lord did in ten years. Hold on for a few more minutes and I'll have your meals ready. With some fresh cider." He nodded at the crystal pony and dissappeared again th the kitchen at the back.

 

Little Rose was intrigued what Clare was doing with her mane, but sat calmly.

 

Crystal purred slightly and leaned on the bar some more, accenting her chest. "Mmmm, cider. Just what I need..."

 Clare giggles "I'm sorry, I just love little ones" she says and nuzzles the filly "Your brother is now with my sister, so in effect, if those two get married you'll get two sisters in law" she says "though I'll always treat you like a baby sister" she nuzzles her then smiles at the innkeeper "That is if I am allowed to, I don't want your parents to think I'm trying to steal you, as tempting it is"

The filly scratched her nose in deep thought. "So... if Dusty gets married with your sister, and you are a princess, so he will be a prince? And me a princess too?" She looked at the mare expectantly, but it was pretty obvious she liked the idea.

 

Crys loked at them with half closed eyes. She already smelled something good from the kitchen and a hard time waiting for the meal. The chariot driver also appeared and looked around the chamber, apparently for somepony who could take his order. "He's in the kitchen, at the back." The crystal mare nodded with her head in the general direction of thekitchen entrance. She seemed oblivious or just didn't care that her posture may be seen as provocative.

Clare smiles "I don't see why we wouldn't be able to make you a princess, you already are one to me at the least" she nuzzles her and finishes braiding her mane, she then holds up a mirror "There, what do you think?"  she asks after putting a toy tiara on her head "I think you look very pretty, and I think my fiance would agree, don't you Cryssi Crys?"

Rose Petal's eyes eyes lit up as she saw her in the mirror. "Wee! I look like a princess!"

 

Crystal shook her head an blinked several times - she got a bit tangled in her thoughts. "Wha? We're going upstairs?" She looked at the pegasus who directed her attention to the filly. "Oh, right, the pet name gave me the wrong idea." She corrected her pose into something more modest and took a look at the filly. ""A" grade princess material I tell you..."

 

The innkeeper showed up with a big plater and laid it on a nearby table. It contained two large plates, two cups and a round, clay bottle, no doubt full of cider. "Here you go... best I could find. Now what I can get you, sir?" He turned towards the cariot driver and took his order, then dissappeared again.

 

Crys smiled widely and gestured to her fiance. "Come love, time for a meal. I reckon it'll take some time before Celeste comes back anyway..."

Clare smiles and nods as she joins her fiance, she smiles at the innkeeper "I am sure it will be delicious, just like last time, thank you" she says politely and looks at the meal "This looks absolutely divine, would you like some too Rosey?" she asks the little filly as she begins to cut some of the meat up for her "But if you do, you have to salad as well, and don't forget to ask your father for a drink, maybe he will give you some nice strawberry milk" she suggests and then smiles to Crystal with a smile that said I can't help myself, she's just so damned adorable!

Crystal Clear took a seat next to Clarissa and offered her a warm smile - she didn't like sitting opposite of her, it felt like the table divided them. She took the other plate and a cup, then began eating. "Hmm, it does look inviting... "

 

Rose Petal looked at the princess curiously when she offered her to share the meal, and nodded enthusiastically. "Okay! I'll go for my cup!" She quickly ran around the bar and into the kitchen, only to return shortly after - this time slowly carrying her small cup, full of what looked like apple juice. She laid it on the table and hopped on the bench next to the princess,

 

The red mare picked on the cue from her fiance's smile and playfully touched elbows with her. "I'll have to search your things before we leave, lest you ponynap the cute filly!"

"Perish the thought" Clare giggles and  hugs the filly "Besides, she'll be family soon enough and will be able to visit us as much as she wants" she says as she begins to put some of the meat and salad onto Rose's plate "There you go sweetie, eat up alright, you want to grow up to be big and strong like your big sisters, now don't you?"

Crystal Clear thought for a moment. "Well, it makes sense to me. I never thought I'll have so many siblings, even if they're in-laws."

 

The filly smiled at the pegasus who loaded her plate. "Thanks!" She took a fork and began eating, even if her technique was rather crude.

 

Crys, as usual, was eating rather fast, but paused occasionally to take a sip of her drink. At some point she wondered aloud. "Hmm, our love doves are taking their time it seems... They would circle the village two times already. Either they went out further or found a suitable haystack replacement." She shrugged "Or both."

Clare looks around "True" her ears flicker "Something isn't right" she says as she quickly make a go for her saber just as Dusty runs in "Dustyhooves!? The hell have you been and more importantly, where the hell is Celeste!?" she shouts at him

 

"R-raiders, boat, port..took her..I fought..but there..were..too..many" he pants, as he was covered in cuts all over his bofdy

Crys chuckled: "Even we weren't so straightforward on our first date. Youth these days hehe..." She looked at her fiance curiously as she started behaving like there was danger. "You alright Clare?" Her question was answered as Dustyhooves ran inside the inn, injured and out of breath.

 

"So much for the roll in the hay." She remarked dryly as the silent inn suddenly burst to life. The carriage driver got up and helped Clare with escorting the large stallion to the nearest bench. Crys led Rose Petal out into the kitchen, where she was taken over by her foster dad. She then ran back to Dusty who was trying to tell what happenned.

Clare barely holds back a curse "Perfect" she says in a rather, sarcastic and flat tone "Father's going to be furious, this is an act of treason and a declaration of war" she says, picking up her saber "Dusty, you go to your parents and get yourself patched up, we're going to need you to fight"

 

He nods as he goes to his father before collapsing in his arms

 

Clare then goes outside and bellows "STALLIONS! RAIDERS HAVE ATTACKED ONE OF YOUR OWN AND KIDNAPPED PRINCESS CELESTE! ARE YOU GOING TO STAND FOR IT OR ARE YOU GOING TO FIGHT FOR VENGEANCE!!" she bellows out in a very authoritative tone "ANY GENDER AND AGE OF PONY ABLE TO FIGHT REPORT TO ME! KNIGHT COMMANDER PRINCESS CLARISSA SILVERMANE IMMEDIATELY!"

Crystal Clear followed Clarissa outside, where she lingered to hear her announcement. Normally she would add a witty remark or a dozen, but she was in no mood for fun. The mare looked down solemny on her hand and a half saber, and sighed. No armor this time, just a single blade... This won't go well.

 

The mare decided to increase her chances of survival and approached her fiance. She asked in a humorless tone: "What now? You'll stand on the shore and try to kill them with a death glare?" She patted the infuriated mare on the shoulder and shouldered the inn door open, so she could adress the carriage driver. She was getting a bit triggered by this whole mess too. "I'm afraid your break is over, pal. Get back to Opal and report that Celeste was ponynapped by raiders, probably the lefovers from yesterday, but it's just guesswork. Crown Prince's ears only, got it? Tell him we need something seaworthy for pursuit, and a couple guards wouldn't hurt either. Now get going before I too lose patience!"

 

She sidestepped to make room for the stallion to get out of the building, then returned to Clare. "I've sent work to Opal and requested a ship for pursuit. Dusty mentioned a boat, so better safe than sorry. He said anything remotely useful?"

Clare sighs as she sits down and begins waiting for the ponies to come to them. "Lets just hope they get there in ti..." she looks up to see miss Hooves hurrying to them, she had an important letter from the palace magician. She reads it and gasps. Tears were welling up in her eyes "N-no i-it c-can't be.."

Crystal Leaned on the wall beside her fiance and unsheathed her saber to check the cuttting edge - a mix of battle preparation ritual and anxiety coping mechanism. This time she checked the blade very thoroughtly...

 

A movenent in the corner of her eye - a familliar pegasus landed nearby and hastily delivered a letter to Clare, then took a step back, as if expecting some kind of outburst from her. Crystal nodded at her in greeting and resumed her obsessive-compulsive task. Clare's reaction to the letter made her pause, however. She impaled the saber into the wooden deck with moderate force and looked at her fiance with great concern. "W-what's going on? What's in the letter?" She didnt' know whether to wait to reply or just take thetter from her hands and read it herself. She chose the former by the virtue of doing nothing.

"F-father has be-been poisoned, Lady Onyx is beside herself with grief and is not leaving his side" she says as she gives her the letter, "It's up to us love, the sage says that there is a antidote for the poison but it is rare and found in the forests where the elven ponies dwell" she says then writes out a letter, handing it to miss Hooves "Deliver this to the Academy right away, tell them that Princess Knight Commander Clarissa Silvermane demands a full contingent..no make that two, their best mages and three battleships to Flounder Cove right away" she says handing the letter to the pegasus

The crystal mare found herself unable to deliver a coherent reply. Instead, she smashed a wall with a fist and let out a furious growl. She spotted the chariot driver getting ready to rol out as soon as possible, and ran to him. "Hey! Orders are moot. Inform whoever's in charge there, and get back with our war gear. Don't give me that look, just go on and do as I said okay?!" She have him a glare for good measure and walked back to Clare and her saber.

 

She wrangled her blade from the woodwork and sheathed it, then took a couple slow breaths to cool down. "Alright, I know we're, like, nearly done, but we have to do something. Those elven ponies, did he write where are they and how to get the antidote? I hate to say this but this is a priority now. As much as I want to chase whoever took Celeste, we can't spend much time searching for her captors..." She looked at her fiance. "it's your call. You're the ruler of this land now."

Clare sighs "Yes he did say, but he also suggested enlisting the aid of.." she shudders "Pale Moonlight" she says and looks to her fiance "I've ordered the academy to send two contingents of knights, three battle ships and their best magicians. We'll take one contingent with us to the forest, while the other stays to protect the cove, as well as one of the battleships, while the other two go off to find the raiders ship and any others that might be coming this way"
