Gimp is a great starter program for you ^-^ I have been using it for years on my art, I am slowly transitioning to Magna Studio 5 though. Anyway, great first drawings using Gimp, you can only do better from here!   If you want any tips or advice just let me know! I would say I am pretty knowledgeable with Gimp.

I mostly need to come up with my own art style and it's been hard to find time to work on a big art project. One thing I've noticed already is that with digital art there's a lot more room for creativity so I just kinda sit there thinking if this is as good as I can make it, without going over board of course.

Mhm, experiment with something new everytime you do a piece of art and see what works and what doesn't is a good strategy to use. Having a general sketch before you digitalize also helps I found out. It gives a good basis of what you'd like and you can adjust lines, ect..

Neat art, good start. But yeah, give your skills a touchup, then try some other programs too, as GIMP isn't for everything.
