ManaMinori 4,145 December 9, 2016 Share December 9, 2016 Why are these things called Hatchimals so popular? (Does anyone know?) For there to be news reports of these things being SO outrageously hot and popular, that they're sold out everywhere, and sold for double online, is nuts. Question is, why are these things so popular? Can you see MlP toys ever reaching that level of "it" fame on store shelves? What would MLP have to do to capitalize on the Hatchimals popularity? Could there be an "Everfree Friends" branch ofMLP's toyline that works similarly to Hatchimals, with a Pokemon egg hatching twist? (Blind bag reveal + hatching a creature from the Everfree with X amount of walking. Then raising it with registered Friend Codes from other people, encouraging friendship) to make things more activity based, rather than finding FC's online, The Everfree Friend could even have a SciTwi like amulet that would pick up on Friend Codes other EF owners leave at citywide hotspots (they could leave a friend code that could be registered, or food for other people's Everfree friend) so sort of like a Hatchimals meets Pokemon egg/ Pokemon Go/Pokemon Safari meets My Little Pony Thoughts on such a thing working for MLP's brand? Kaneki 1,073 December 10, 2016 Share December 10, 2016 It's gotta really have some sort of pop to it, a marketing thing to be so... viral like that. MLP toys are just toys, but with the Hatchimals, they hatch out of an egg, which catches people's attention. Perhaps if they come up with something unique with the MLP toys, it could sell big, but not really at this point, no.

I think what I came up with is pretty unique for mlp to do. Of course, I do wonder why toy execs haven't thought of it, themselves.... Rainblow H. Ash 5,091 December 13, 2016 Share December 13, 2016 Not a bad idea, but what they really need to compete with Hatchimals and other toys is a Discord toy with Kung fu grip. #bringbackmerriwetherwillaims
