October 2017 doesn't have much competition (it's actually non-existent in terms of kids films) yet it's right around the holiday season, which means it's fresh for loads of $$$ for Hasbro.

I dunno, it's hard to predict that a movie will do well judging by it's release date. While occasionally that will have to do with how much of an audience it gets, other times box office results are flat-out unpredictable, especially in the past 30 years.

Kingsman is not that popular in the US like it is in the UK. MLP can win opening weekend if marketed correctly.
