No because then Spike would be hundreds of years old. And so would all the other characters. Also Celstia is like a mentor/mother figure. It'd be creepy if that happend. Besides Twilight can sometimes be to uptight. Celestia has been shown to appreciate humor. She loved when Discord tried to send Tree Hugger to another dimension. She said it was the best gala yet. Celstia would be more likely to date Discord.

Spike could be hundreds of years old. It's shown that age in Equestria works differently. Lifespans in Equestria obviously take thousands of years for people to die. If Celestia is 1000 years old, Granny Smith is probably 3000 years old. A "baby dragon" could be under 150 years old.

I guess. But I think Celstia, Luna, and Discord are the only characters currently shown to be several thousand years old. And many The Dazzlings as well as Tirek.
