Steel was thankful for the romantic atmosphere but also felt like circumstances were spiraling out of his control. He didn't want to force Fluttershy into anything!

Steel stared at the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen in his life. His eyes could not be divorced from her, but her gaze held such apprehension towards him. He'd dreaded this moment. Swallowing hard, he finally spoke. "Uhuhuhuh Nice to meet you, m'lady. I'm Captain Steel Accord." He tried to sound confident but non threatening and it came off awkward.

 

Fluttershy looked down shyly.

"Nice to meet you, Captain.. I'm.. Fluttershy.."

She said quietly, not looking up from the ground.

Her heart was beating fast, she was so shy!

She didn't like being introduced, it always made her anxious.

But the captain seemed like a nice pony. So She'd have to make the best of this.

She took a deep breath and said (only a little louder)

"How are you, captain? I- I- like your - um it's a nice day...."

Great. Now she'd embarrassed herself.

She sat down and looked at the ground, blushing.

"Nice to meet you, Captain.. I'm.. Fluttershy.."

She said quietly, not looking up from the ground.

"How are you, captain? I- I- like your - um it's a nice day...."

"It's uhhhhhhh my military rank. I'm in the Royal Guard. Hence the swords." Steel indicated his weapons. He then double taked and quickly sheathed the blades and blushed. "Uhhhh that was very impressive with the Hydra. Thank you for the rescue m'lady."

"That a boy!" said prince siting down. "Who says they get all the romance huh?" prince teleported a clothe in front him and sat on it.

{{Finally got? The poor girl is TERRIFIED OF ME!}} Steel was doing his best to maintain a calm exterior but couldn't calm the storm raging within. His heart burned with desire for the pure soul that stood before him. Yet he also felt such shame for bringing such a dirty and unworthy one such as himself before her. "Damn me to the Stars." Steel muttered under his breath. "I don't believe it safe to dally in the Everfree Forest. May I escort you home, m'lady?" Steel offered.

Fluttershy nodded, and smiled.

"Y-yes, that would be so great! I'm s-scared of the f-forest.."

Fluttershy walked closer to Steel, and smiled up at him, blushing.

"Well then . . . I guess we best be off." Steel gave a weak smile of thanks to the Prince as they exited Froggy Bottom Bog. As they made their way through the forest Steel tried to make the best of their time. "M'lady. Might I say you are very brave. Not many would stand against a hydra as you did." Steel complimented.

Fluttershy blushed at Steel's comment.

He was a very handsome stallion.

"Thank you, Captain.. It really isn't anything so brave though. It was just a poor Hydra with a thorn in his neck. All animals are usually very nice."

She smiled.

"Ooh, look, look! An owl!"

Fluttershy flew gently up to a branch.

"Hello, mister owl. It's a nice night, isn't it?"

The owl hooted happily in reply.

Fluttershy smiled.

"Have a good night, mister owl~"

She flew back down next to Steel.

Steel watched this display of random tenderness with awe. What a mysterious power she had! It was like she had a universal connection to animals. It was a power of kindness . . . of unconditional love. Both given and returned. To merely be in it's presence made his heart glow. He allowed to his eyes to wander to his travelling companion. The Princess saw fit to give the rising moon enough light to clearly make out her willowy frame. Her pale yellow coat glowed softly in the moonlight. He was enthralled by her beauty.

Seeing a small glimmer of hope, Steel made an offer. "If you feel at all comfortable with it, you may call me Steel. Only those under me refer to me by my rank."

Fluttershy asked, blushing.

"N-Not like a d-date or anything! J-just um just fr-friends!"

Oh gosh. He probably knows I mean like a date! And he's gonna turn me down!

Steel's eyes shot open and his heart stopped."This CAN'T be happening!" He thought to himself. "She's so kind and pure and innocent. You can't date her! Steel finally spoke nervously. "Ummmmm I . . . *gulp* love. I-I'd love to eat somewhere with you. But I'm not decent. May I clean myself up a bit and return to you in an hour's time?" Steel begged Luna for this reprieve. As terrified as he was, he wasn't going to dishonor Fluttershy by escorting looking like he'd just come from a fight . . . which he had.
