what if Vinyl represents the proverb "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" (three wise monkeys)? Her eyes are covered by shades, her ears are covered by headphones, and she doesn't speak....

It'd fit with her personality too, the music would make her feel chill all the time rather than worry about anything.

 

But I am not sure the proverb fully makes sense. If you don't see evil how can you know what to not do? Granted it could mean nothing is evil, life is more complex than labelling misfortune as bad, it could go either way, not sure which way its intended, but I heard chinese politicians in more ancient times used to use paradoxical proverbs to distract the peasantry to prevent them from rebelling or something. 

 

And ignoring problems certainly doesn't fix them. It just perpetuates them but allows peace with them. Its sort of like a corrupt value or virtue. A lot of virtues are easily corruptible. So I think the highest virtue is understanding.

 

But yeah, it does seem about right, but she did communicate with wubs before to let Octi know to turn when they were zooming around with speakers. Easy to miss.

The belief is that Vinyl can't speak.  I'm not sure a mute DJ would work.  IMO, she is like Big Mac & just doesn't talk much.  But yes, Vinyl & Chrysalis See no evil, Hear no evil, + Evil. :-o
