What kind of hybrid animation do you prefer?

Cel shaded 3d characters in 2d environments?

Hand drawn 2d characters in 3d environments?

Or 3d characters and backgrounds rotoscoped with 2d overlays?

I have to go with the last one as my favorite.

Paperman and the Feast shorts Disney made look really beautiful and I am waiting for them to make an entire movie animated using that technology.

I think I'd favor the middle one; 2D characters with 3D environments. I love the look of traditional drawn animation. I do rather like the third one quite a lot as well though. Paparman is a really beautiful short and the look is gorgeous. Disney has such nice resources for smooth, perfect animation like that.

So for me, the second one, then the third. I don't mind the first one with the cel shaded characters, but it's a distant third for me.
