Was "A Flurry of Emotions" a missed opportunity?

Anyone remember Shining Armor's friend, Spearhead, the stallion who had all his works up in the Ponyville art museum? Yeah, him. Does anyone think that that very episode and scenario would've been a better time to bring a mare guard with artistic talents to the table? Somepony like, g3 Toola Roola, for instance? (we already have migrated over ponies from g3 in g4, which make up the majority of the Mane 6/ CMC, anyway). I'm pretty disappointed, as this seemed like the perfect opportunity to depict not only a female member of the guard (which would've also explained why she wasn't seen around Ponyville, if she's part of Shining's guard in the Crystal Empire), but to give her a solid reason to show off her artistic abilities that made her who she was. Erin Matthews already lends her voice to two other MLP characters, no doubt she would've loved to voice one the ponies she did in the past, had they brought Toola in, in that episode.

Not really.  I felt the episode was good enough without having to do something like that.

I feel like it would've been an unecessary addition. I don't know, this is just personal opinion, but this show has plenty of female power in it, and focuses on the Mane 6's all mare team. I actually hadn't noticed that all of the guard so far has been stallions, but it doesn't bother me much either. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a female guard somewhere down the line either, though!
