Are hybrids even possible? Doubt it

Occasional really well drawn fan art aside. Are hybrids even possible in this universe? I'm not talking a donkey and pony(that's proven to be possible "mule") I mean can a Pony reproduce with another species? Like a Griffin or a Dragon? I don't think so. Some arnt even the same blood(meaning ones cold blooded the other is warm) I'm pretty sure one of the show people said it was impossible.

 

Both in size and biology, a hybrid is just not possible. Maybe in another universe, but I doubt this one.

 

Spike really needs to realize two things, 1. Rarity is too old 2. There not even the same species. He's got thousands of years ahead of him(Rarity has about 100) im sure there is a fine and beautiful dragoness out there, that way he can have a family of his own. I mean Spike as an adult would make a nice dad.

 

The only species I can see reproducing hybrids with others are Changelings(for obvious reasons)

Hippogriff's are a thing, and they're basically like...Half Griffon, half Pony. We don't know their origins but it's possible they're a hybrid of Griffon and Pony.

As for the not reproducing thing. A dragon and pony couple could adopt, not being able to have biological children isn't a dealbreaker for everyone, or they might just not want kids at all. Still, the huge difference in lifespan for some species would certainly lead to some heartbreak.

Well, To Change a Changeling they where revealed to be insects, so it may take away the chance of interspecies reproduction between ponies and them. Then again, this is a fantastical world, and reproduction is rarely touched upon, so it may still be possible. While it isn't certain about the hippogriffs, being said to be part pony and past eagle, it may still possible they are actually part griffin instead of eagle, like in the miths. Also, zebras and ponies can crossbreed as well
