Custom Cutie Mark Flip Flops! :D (The Fun Has been Doubled! Now With Luna!)

Ok, so I was perusing Old Navy today and was inspired by their MASSIVE WALL O' RAINBOW FLIP FLOPS. And I decided, DUDE. How cool would it be if there were MLP shoes/flip flops for summer? So, since they were cheap and I was feeling artistic, I bought a few pairs in pony colors! :D First to be done were what I now lovingly have named:

FLUTTER-FLOPS! *snicker* :)

These were a little hard to paint because of the fact that the strap is textured and not flat. I think if people like the idea, I'll try and find a flip-flop maker that actually makes colorful ones with flat straps and bottoms. My next step is to get a vector image of the cutie mark and try and get it screen printed or contacted onto the sole so that when you take off the shoe there's a GIANT cutie mark on the sole of the foot :D

Next up will be PINKIE-POPS! :D (I am just on a ROLL with these names tonight!)

These were a little easier, and I LOVE the way they came out. Easily my new pair of summer kicks! My next pair: The Sonic Rain-Flips :3 Not the most creative of names, but its late, and I'm tired :P

I................MUST............HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could probabely make a fairly good business selling these and, from the sound of it, they dn't sound increadably pricey to make depending on what type of paint your using.

Creative idea from a not really creative shoe.

The tourists out here use them so FLIPPING much. :P:lol:

Nice job on both so far! :D

They're really nice too! How long did they take?

Each pair took between 30-50 minutes to finish. The first pair took longer because of custom paint color mixing and general finer detail. But I'm looking forward to making the RD pair. THAT will be a challenge...

So I lied. The next two pairs are inspired by our two favorite royal sisters, Luna and Celestia :D The first pair I've finished is my PERSONAL favorite Princess', Luna! Fit for the ruler of the moon herself, these are actually done in puffy paint, hence the shinier look. These seem to work a little better than acrylic, which was getting some light cracking with wear. And I mean LIGHT but still. I thought puffy paint would work better due to its flexible nature. :D Hope you like! (And yes. You DO spy starlight glitter accents around the edge of the shoe. ;) )Posted Image
