private Skittles n' Apples: My Best Friend & Sister

Applejack, still quite groggy at this point, nodded responded in agreement. “Sure thing, sugarcube.” After getting up on all fours, she stretched first her front hooves, then her back. The sensation felt great, the start of a brand new day, after all the wondrous events that have happened the past 24 hours. Wide and awake, she turned to Dash and gave her a chuckle and wink.

As gentle as she could, she gave the snoozing Scootaloo a slight nudge in the side, and slowly rolled her off as she laid onto the floor peacefully. Alertly, the two mares looked over at her as she squirmed a bit, adjusting her current sleeping position, while giving a slight moan. “Y....you're the best sister...ever....Rainb..ow.....”, she murmured as she fell back asleep again.

Applejack couldn't help but utter a slight grin. “Aw, shoot, now ain't she a cute little girl when she sleeps like that?”, turning to Rainbow for a response.

Dash's face lit with the sincerest, warmest smile she could possibly muster. In fact, she probably never gave such an emotion-filled smile in her life. Her chest heated up with affection for the cute little filly, whom made another little squirm. Applejack was watching her, and Dash's legs shook slightly as she fought a two-sided battle between keeping her cool, and sacrificing it for this moment.

"...Man...how is it that whenever I hang around you AJ, I end up getting sentimental?" Dash asked rhetorically, admitting defeat from herself, and flopping down on the patterned rug. Using her hoof, she gently dragged the small purple-maned filly into her side, and curled up around her. Her feathered wing acting as a magnificent blanket, she enveloped Scoot in her embrace, and amidst the sun that was now fully warming up the living room, cuddled against the carpet and smiled.

"...Glad you think so, Pipsqueak." She said softly, referring to Scootaloo's words a few moments ago. "Soon as you're ready, you're gonna get the workout of a lifetime when we start your flying training. But for now...this will do."

Applejack's mouth had formed into an outright smile as she watched the beyond adorable scene, and seemed to become entranced for a few moments. However, Scootaloo wasn't the only filly in the room...

"Nnnhhh...Applejack?" Came the quiet, tired voice of Applebloom, stretching out from her previously curled-up position and squinting at the heated sun in her eyes. She located her sister in a second, and looked at her with a confused expression. What was she doing up already?

"W-Whaddya doin? Is it...is it time to wake up already?" She asked, not wanting to leave the comfort of the make-shift sister bed she had just been sleeping on. Said bed was now up and about, staring off at Rainbow and Scoot, and a bed like that was no use for a filly trying to sleep. "But I still wanna sleep sum more..."

Deep down, the filly knew how to get Applejack to do what she wanted. Enough cuteness, and even she'd cave. But she truly did think it was too early for chores. Surely another twenty minutes couldn't hurt.

She rolled her eyes and uttered a small chuckle. She lived with her and has been through more than enought experiences to recognize her standards. And, aforementioned, she was completely okay with that.

“Okay, Apple Bloom, ya’ darn asked for it this time!” She stomped her front left hoof on the ground slightly, and charged towards the filly. She landed with a start-of-the-day, cuddle-filled bear glomp. “Ya’ thought you could outsmart me this time, huh?”, the mare uttered with a playful evil grin. Apple Bloom couldn't respond over her laughter from the tickling storm her big sister was now giving.

“Hehe...had enough, lil’ sis?” She started lovingly into her sister's joy-filled face that was still recovering from the cuddle attack.

As Applejack and Apple Bloom were busy, Scootaloo was just slowly opening her bright and expressive purple eyes to see her new best friend and surrogate sister. She was dreaming of everything that had happened yesterday, how her life changed in such little time, and what would happen in the future.

When she realized all of this was more than real, she squealed with joy and tightly hugged Rainbow. “I knew it, Rainbow, I knew you'd always stay by my side! And now, everything I've always dreamed about doing with you is coming true! I....I love you, big sister!” She was squeezing a bit tighter now as a tear of delight came down one of her cheeks. “You'll....you'll always be the best friend and sister anypony could ever have...!”

(One long delay later </3)

Applebloom was more than used to being assaulted with tickling and hugs from her big sister. Applejack was all about work and getting that work done through teamwork, and doing what was best for the farm and family, but Apple Bloom would be lying if she said that AJ wasn't into being sentimental and playful. In fact, of any of the siblings she'd seen, Applejack was probably the most caring one of all. But all the same, the filly giggled and squirmed as she attempted to escape the attack. When it failed, and she only received peace when AJ allowed it, the bow-tied pony got up and gave her sister a glare.

"That ain't what ah meant, Applejack!" She complained cutely. "Ah wanted you to come back and lay down a little longer...I was usin' ya as a pillow, after all. But dangit now I'm awake from that ticklin', and don't wanna sleep anymore..."

Huffing with puffed cheeks, the younger pony trotted past Rainbow and Scootaloo, and made her way into the kitchen. Whilst she disappeared to go make breakfast for herself, Rainbow had taken to playfully nooging and messing with Scoot's purple mane.

"Ready to see if I can get you ungrounded, pipsqueak?" She asked, unfolding her wings and, after the orange filly ceased giggling, stood up and stretched herself out. "It may take a while, but hopefully we'll be makin' some progress before sundown."

It was a perfect time in the morning. Celestia had just risen the sun up a few hours ago. It was now 8:04 AM. All the potential and fun that could be had by the four ponies could all be fulfilled today.

“Alllllright!” She pumped her hoof in excitement. “So big sister, when we gonna do it? Huh? Huh? HUH?” She was already jumping multiple times, eager to get the memories started. Her mouth was agape and her eyes were wide, bright, and sparkly with all this excitement.

Applejack just took a good look at all the progress she has made. “Well, shoot, lookit that. To think that it only took one day for them two to realize that they were really meant fer eachother. And it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be.” She chuckled to herself. “...Ah guess I just make it easy for ’em.” She wanted to see what her hungry sister was up to.

“Hey, Apple Bloom, what's cookin’?” She did not literally expect her sister to be preparing actual food that involved any cooking process. When she walked in, she was surprised to see the filly already start to turn on the stove, with a pan and to uncooked eggs on top of it.

"We can start...right...NOW!" Rainbow shouted, placing her bottom left hoof underneath the orange filly and tossing her up onto her own back. She flexed her feathery wings and scuffed her hoof against the smooth wooden floor, facing the doorway. "Alright...here we go. Off to go find the ideal training spot for your lessons to begin. Hold on!"

With a bang, the pegasus shot from her spot in the center of the room, and smashed out the front door. The door smacked against the house from the impact and wind it was suddenly hit with, and Rainbow soared up into the brightening blue sky. The clouds needed to be cleared, but that could be done by the other pegasi. Today, her priority was staying loyal to her promise teaching Scootaloo, the seemingly flightless pegasus, to fly.

"Eggs are cookin'," Apple Bloom responded, sitting on a pulled-up chair she used to reach the top of the stove. She sat there and blinked at the burner heating up the frying pan. She...wasn't totally sure how eggs worked, but she had to do it somehow. Especially now that her big sister was here, watching her. This could be her chance to show her how she was a big pony, and not a little tiny filly that needed to be watched all the time. She...liked being with AJ all the time, but still, she wanted some shred of respect as a growing pony!

"I'll ummm...hold on, don't tell me..." Applebloom said nervously, grabbing the two eggs and trying to figure out how to crack them into the pan without getting any of the shell into it. She skittishly tapped them against the bottom of the frying pan, nervous, knowing her sister was watching her every move. But she had to show her! She just had to!

“Heeeeeheehe...!!!” Scootaloo squealed with joy and delight, as she would get her very first lessons in flying from her favorite pegasus on the entire world. She gripped as hard as she could onto the back of her new sister, and let the wind rush in her eyes, tears of joy escaping them. She thought about it for a bit, and she was suddenly overcome with joy. She then suddenly grasped Rainbow's neck in a hug. “Oh, thankyoythankyouthankyouthankyouuuuu!!!!”

Back in the kitchen, Applejack had taken notice of her friends’ absence. She looked back at the empty room and uttered a deep breath. Feeling pleasure, she was prideful of all the work she had done with the two, and in such little time. Quickly thinking back to the breakfast, she came back and chuckled as she watched her dedicated little sister attempt to cook food. She thought it was rather adorable to see a young filly strive so high.

At this point, she was actually impressed by how much Apple Bloom had done correctly, the stove was near the right degree, she picked the exact type of traditonal pan, it was actually going quite well. It all ended though when her little sister gasped at the sight of the one object now on the pan- mushed up egg, a mashed mix of shell, white, and yolk, altogether in a pile of egginess. As she blushed and looked at her big sister, Applejack was starting to get a tad tempted. Watching her cute little sister pretend that she can do something way out of league, and obviously fail at it, but in a cute way of course.. Apple Bloom attempted a second time, the same thing happened, except it was on the stove outside the pan.

“Apple Bloom...Ah sure hope you know what yer doin’...” Applejack said. She had a puzzled, but flattered look on her face. She knew that if she went with it, everything would be fine.

The warm summer day beat down in an unflinching heat. Rainbow Dash soared through the open sky above Sweet Apple Acres, smiling happily and and feeling joy in the fact that the young pony was so incredibly thrilled at a mildly easy prospect. Whilst her mane and neck were hugged, the blue pegasus descended down in a big open field that had yet to be filled with fully grown corn stalks. There she landed on the dirt with a quick, firm thud of hooves against soft dirt. She put her head down and forced the filly to slide off.

"Yeah yeah, no problem, pipsqueak." She brushed off, smiling and flapping her wings. She hovered in the air over the filly, in her usual coach formation. "Alright. You'll start training here. First we'll do some simple strength training, and then once your wings are up to it, I'm gonna work you till you lift yourself off the ground!"

--

"A-Ahh I do know what ah'm doin...I don't need your help, don't worry..." Applebloom said with uncertainty in her voice, as she tried to save the horrible mess of breakfast she had already created in the pan. But the more she attempted to save it by removing the egg shells, the more and more the yolk and egg was meshed up. Normally it'd be fine, but it made the eggshell only break down more and more into tinier and tinier pieces. After a few forceful thrusts of the spatula, the filly gave a nearly silent whimper to herself and jumped off the chair.

"H-Hold on!" She said firmly, grabbing for utensil after utensil from Granny Smith's collection by the stove and trying to remove the shells with each one, seeing if the tiny metal wires of the whisk, or any of the other tools might help. But the little filly glanced over her shoulder every few seconds just to notice her sister's expression, and with each new attempt, AJ's expression grew more and more sheepish. Pretty soon, Applebloom stopped her attempts and looked down at the pile of egg and shell she had created, sizzling on the stove. She growled to herself and shut it off, then jumped off the chair and trotted out of the room with her head low, eyebrows furrowed, and expression irritated and frustrated.

"Why can't ah I ever do anythin' right? I can't even make breakfast...!" She said, leaving the kitchen, and heading towards her personal room, right across from Applejack's own upstairs.

Scootaloo tried her best, but could not hold in all her excitement, everything awesome was going by just too fast. She couldn't help but flutter her wings rapidly with tons of energy. "I'm ready when you are, sis!" Her wings were fluttering so fast that she nearly started to hover above the ground, yet she was so excited she did not notice. "What're we gonna do first, huh?!" She looked up to her idol, who was about to give her a lesson of a lifetime.

--

Applejack knew that it had been taken too far. "Eh...n....now, Apple Bloom!" Her feeling of sympathy was going through her system, as she rushed to her sister. She quickly stopped looked back at the horrid mess, and then shook her head. "Naw, naw, there's no time for that!" Trotting quickly after the little filly, Applejack managed to make it only halfway up the stairs when she started to feel fatigue. Gasping and panting, she heard the slam of a door. "Ah...what now...?" When she made it to the second floor, the first place she went to was right outside her little sister's room. She tried opening it, but it wouldn't work. She knocked on the door lightly.

"Listen, Apple Bloom...now what yer doin' here is nonsense, come out and talk to your big sis and tell me what's goin' on here." She had a serious tone in her voice, but not very demanding.

"Discord, where have you been?"

Basically how it's went down for the past ten days <3

--

"Alright squirt, so first you're gonna follow me through a simple aerial training method of ups and downs and diagonals. We're gonna go through some of those clouds up there," She pointed her hoof up to some of the puffy clouds in the sky. "Then see if you can keep up with me. We're gonna train like that, and then put your skill to the test each time against me, till you're goin' nearly as fast as I can. Or, you know, at least twice as fast as however fast you can go now."

Oblivious of the fillies' problem, the pegasus stretched our her wings and wiggled her flank as she lowered her head to the ground. Only after turning her head and seeing that the orange pony hadn't moved from her spot, did she cock her eyebrow and give a confused look.

"Let's go squirt, what's the hold up?"

--

"There's nothin' to talk about, Applejack!" Apple Bloom said through a few stray tears, jumping onto her bed and laying her head into the pillow. Hiding the world from her view and descending into the darkness of the pillow, she muffled her frustrations into it. She was so upset...but she wasn't even sure why. Maybe it was the fact that her sister had been watching, but that shouldn't bother her so much. Should it?

"You're so good at bakin' and cookin', and...I can't even...make some eggs for breakfast! I don't even know what ah am good at!" She said, turning her head to the side and watching the closed door, knowing the orange pony was on the other side, listening. She felt torn. On the one hand, she wanted to keep the door closed, just for a little while longer. She wanted her sister to know how upset she really was. But on the other hand...the need for comfort to a young filly for emotional outbreaks was a short fuse, and there wasn't any pony in the world better at calming her down and helping her feel better than her big sister. She could feel her lip quivering.

A blank, lifeless look of sudden realization and astonishment had approached the orange filly's eyes. "I.....I...." She was in the perfect position to lift off....but after comprehending the issue, she slumped down to the ground with her head held down.

"I..can't...fly....at all..." An instant feeling of depression overcame Scootaloo as her eyes started to moist up. “I forgot to tell you...everypony knows that I can't fly, and they're teasing has been following me....well ever since I can remember....when I met Sweetie Belle, and then Apple Bloom, they've been protecting me from that kind of stuff, but still I can't stop being reminded....and now I can't learn from even my new sister..." She broke down into a cry with her face buried into the fresh grass.

--

Applejack wasn't leaving until she saw Apple Bloom face to face.

"Come, now, lil' sister, Ah didn't think you did too bad at all! Heh...in fact, I never expected ya' to jump to such a task outta nowhere. I'm actually very proud of ya'! What I'm discouraged if by the fact that yer gettn' all riled up for nut'n. You didn't need to get all upset 'n' pouty 'n' all that. You should be proud of yourself, just like me. Now, how 'bout you open this door, and tell me what's the real reason your so down?"

Rainbow Dash's expression began as utter confusion as she gazed back across her own outstretched wing, and then, as the little pony dropped to the ground and began to sniffle, and then a full-on cry, her face evolved into one of unsureness and surprise. With a sigh, the azure pony retracted her wings, smiled a little, and trotted over the filly. The pegasus wasn't the best for sentimental affection on the spot, no, that was Aj's specialty. But, there was one thing, two things actually, that she could do pretty well. Humor and play.

"What are you talkin' about, kid?" She asked playfully, putting a hoof on the filly's purple mane and ruffling it roughly. "If ya don't know how to fly, then I'll just help you figure out the problem, and then fix it; so that I can teach ya how to fly!"

She could see the confidence returning to the filly, in the form of a delighted and eager grin. Dash held out a hoof to help the filly back up. The pegasus then began to scan the young pony's wings, walking around her and looking at them carefully, scrunching her eyes, as if waiting to see some grand, obvious flaw. But after a moment, she stood straight and returned to her normal confident expression.

"Alright, I have a few ideas." She announced. "First, do some wing-ups. I wanna see if there's a problem with the physical strength part. If a pegasus doesn't use her wings enough, they become weaker, a lot like your muscles. So go ahead, kid, do...ummm...twenty!"

Like a friendly coach, Rainbow hovered in the air at a near-horizontal angle, watching the girl with her big purple eyes.

--

The room behind AB's door remained dead quite some time. The little filly didn't make a noise; not a sniffle, ruffle of the pillows or bed sheets, or any other sound. At last, there was the sound of the doorknob turning, and it was pulled open, as soon as the lock had unclicked. But Apple Bloom had already made it back to her bed by the time her sister could get a good glance at her from across the room. Giving a defiant pout underneath her obvious tears, she frowned at Applejack and shook her head.

"Not nothin'..." Was all she said. She herself wasn't even sure what she was so upset about. But as Applejack entered the room, she knew that it was time to let her big sister handle the situation. She was good at these things...and the little filly didn't have the attitude to put up a stubborn fight to not let herself be comforted, at the moment.

As Scootaloo's idol gave her the inspirational pep talk, she could feel her positivity and confidence fill up. Her tears dried away and her mouth stuttered. “Th...th....thank you, sister!!!” She quickly gave her a hug, and then went on all fours in a ready position. “Ready when you are!”

As her orders were given, she did so, her wing-ups, and in under a minute, struggling more then ever in her attempt to impress Rainbow, as well as making progress. When she finished, she finished, she immediately fell on her back, panting and sweating like crazy. But it was all worth it, right? She looked up, with an attempted smile, tongue still out from catching her breath, she muttered, “Did....did I do it, Dash...?” Her eyes were full of joy and accomplishment.

--

“Yes, somethin’.” Applejack's voice was at the point of becoming a little more stern then it had before. She was going to do anything she can to get to the bottom of her little sisters’ sudden breakdown. She walked towards her bed with the sobbing filly who was trying her best to hide her shame, in which was obviously failing. The more she pouted, the more Applejack felt like giving in, but she knew that this wasn't the time. No, not yet.

“Apple Bloom, Ah don't know what to tell ya, but there's nothing else I can do unless you tell me more about what's wrong. Look, I know there was something going on back there, and you didn't start actin’ up like this for nut'n. Now, Ah want ya to tell me, right now.” She stood, looking at her little sister straight in the eyes, straight in the teary, shaky eyes of her little sister.

Rainbow fluttered there in the air with a rather amusing puzzlement on her face. Plot high in the air, upper body facing mostly downwards to observe the filly, she nodded with a 'good enough' look on her face. She plopped down onto the green grass next to the pony half her size, and poked a hoof into her exposed tummy.

"Yeah that works, squirt. But I just realized something else we gotta do before we work on that stuff..." She explained, trotting behind Scootaloo and pushing her up into a sitting position. Flopping onto her rump just behind the orange, purple-maned filly, Rainbow took her hooves and began to prod and stretch the tiny wings on the filly, as if examining them. They were so small, and when they flapped, it was just like a humming bird, Dash mused to herself. It took a 'what are you doing, Dash?' from Scootaloo for the azure pegasus to smile and explain her bizarre actions.

"You ever heard of preening, squirt?" She asked quizzically, leaning down and taking the fillies' left wing into her mouth gently. Using her teeth, she combed through the soft feathers, far fuzzier and not as soft and fleshed out as her own. Completely oblivious to the fact that Scootaloo grew a thick blush from the sudden strange behavior from her idol, Dash continued. but before long, the filly was giggling and squirming, and Dash could feel the wing pull right out from her mouth in a hurry. Blinking in confusion, she sat back up and gave a confused look.

"Kid, ya gotta hold still for this to work. I gotta preen your feathers so they aren't all jumbled underneath with undercoat. That's one of the things that could possibly be the cause of your flightless-ness."

--

Apple Bloom sat her flank on her bed, her large bright eyes shimmering with the verge of tears. She looked at the wooden floor and tried to rub them away. Her sister's bright orange hooves exiting from view as she got up onto the bed as well. Her older sister instincts kicked in without even thinking, these days. Tears? Time to get onto the bed and get the cuddle position ready, as well as a comforting, soft tone.

"But ah...ah really don't know!" The filly said, shaking her head. "Sweetie Belle n' Scootaloo n' ah always fail at gettin' our cutie marks and stuff, so...I dunno why ah'm so irritated at such a small thing. But ah am! And you bein' there to see me blow it makes it all the worse!" She sniffed, maintaining her sad little curled position. Applejack was now laying down, but the filly still didn't move to her on her own.

“He....hehe....hahahaha! I'm....hehe...I'm sorry! I can't help it! Pl...PLEASE STOP!!!” Rainbow halted the preening, while Scootaloo was recovering from all the tingling sensation she felt all throughout her body. She stood up in front of her idol, and began to look down with a blush. “I'm....I'm....k-kinda ticklish...”, then came the innocent smile. “Y....you don't mind that, right...?” She kept staring into the blank expression of Rainbow Dash.

--

Applejack fully understood her little sister's predicament, and knew exactly how to deal with it. “Now, Apple Bloom, lookie ’ere.” Her sister glanced up at her.

“Now. You say yer all upset ’cause you 'n' yer friends're always failing' at her attempts to get a cutie mark, I understand. But you just gotta keep on rememeberin’, you are just as special with a cutie mark as you are without. The latter meanin’ that you still have all the time in the world to venture in hopes of gettin' one, and still have a chance to have memorable moments with yer best friends. And also. Me? As your sister, I don't care whether you succeed or fail. That's all the fun out of it you get that matters to me, because in the end, I know you and yer friends will all have understood their purpose in life. Now, does that make you feel better?” Applejack smiled and gave her little sister a little noogie.

“Alright, so how's about I show you how to make a good ol’ Apple family breakfast. The right way!” She gave Apple Bloom a smirk and a smile, and beckoned her out the door.

Rainbow Dash stood there blinking for a few brief moments, rump planted in the grass as she cocked her head a bit and gave the filly an amused smile. Not a smile of mischievousness, however. At least, not yet.

"Ticklish, huh?" She said cocking an eyebrow, grabbing the filly gently and pushing her onto her back, holding there with one hoof and kneeling down. Her smile became more playful and adventurous every second. "It doesn't effect me squirt so of course I don't mind. But ticklish or not I gotta get this done, squirt, cause we need to make sure you're feathers are straight." She explained, pretending to sound like she wasn't about to enjoy the tickling she was about to cause. But enjoy it she sure did, smirking as she used both front hooves to pin the small pony to the grass, and continued to use her teeth to comb through her wings, seeking out any downy filly feathers that might be in need of straightening or plucking. So far, there was only a few single stragglers, which Dash plucked out without much pain to Scootaloo, as they were already somewhat loose.

The more she did so, the more Scootaloo giggled and squirmed in the grass underneath her, and as she did, the more Rainbow's large, purple eyes gave way to a smile on her mouth. She wasn't about to admit it, but Dash was enjoying it, and it made her feel really happy.

--

Apple Bloom listened intently, and while her sister was in the middle of her speech, she finally decided to give way to the inevitable. She slowly got to her hooves there on the bed, and took the stride or two it took to come over to Applejack's side. Listening and giving the appropriate nods when needed to the speech about why she needn't be so worked up over silly things, she laid down on the bed and pushed herself into her sister's side, laying her head down on the bed and watching the doorway, her sister's front hooves lazily hanging off of the bed next to, of which she could see in the corner of her eye. Applejack was so in sync with the sentiment of affection that she didn't even stop her speech, and simply curled her tail around the filly.

When time came for the noogie and suggestion to head back to the kitchen, so that she could learn how to properly work out breakfast without anything going crazy, Apple Bloom hesitated. The new found comfort of her sister-pillow was making her relax and calm down. She could probably even take a nap, if she wanted.

"Nah...ah'd really just like to stay'n here for now, Applejack, with you. The food can wait, ah mean, I'm not that hungry right now anyway. Is that okay?" Apple Bloom asked softly, pushing the side of her head underneath Applejack's chin.

The orange pegasus couldn't help it, she couldn't take all of this ticklishness. She stopped practicing to fly ever since she was teased of her ability to do so, and so her wings adapted respectively. All she was able to do was unstoppably keep on moving around, squeaking, because no matter what, getting preened from her idol seemed to always give the filly that kind of feeling.

"Dash...hehe...please...HAHAHA!!! I...can't...take it!!!" But the older sister didn't tend to her current needs, she needed to get this out of the way before anything else. Just the feeling of Dash's slightly rigid teeth mending through her soft and frail feathers continuously. Scootaloo was about to explode when she stormed an idea. Overcoming her laughter, she reached her front hoof towards the underbelly of the azure pony, and began to move it up and down in a tickling fashion.

Applejack was immediately taken by her sister's vivid and cute charm. Just the site of her just being the adorable, innocent young filly that she is just makes her want to cuddle it out with her. She looked over at the clock. It was 8:49 AM. She slowly turned her head down back at Apple Bloom's. She still had that irresistible look and smile. "Y'know...yer right. Ah guess that food.....can wait." The orange mare knew exactly where this was going. She lied down and snuggled next to Apple Bloom, putting her hooves around her back, giving her the nicest sister hug any pony in Equestria could ever give.

"You never have to worry about messin' up in yer life, sugarcube, you can always come to your big sister if you need any help."

Rainbow had finally managed to finish Scoot's left wing, and as she did so, she knelt back up, giving an disapproving stare at the filly whilst she continued to hold her down. She couldn't help but smirk as the girl giggled and squirmed continually, but this had to be done, and that was all there was to it. If the Cutie Mark Crusader couldn't handle some unintentional tickling, then that was just too bad. Just as she thought, the girl's wings were an absolute mess of unkempt feathers that resembled more of a fluffy mess than an organized wing pattern. She had no doubt it was a reason, if not the entire reason why the young filly was still unable to fly at her age. But just as Dash knelt down and combed through the girl's second wing, an orange hoof poked into her tummy from underneath, and wiggled around spasmodically. Dash's large purple eyes dilated for a split second as she twitched, flinching and pulling a hoof up to push the tickling object away from her sensitive underbelly.

"Hey! Squirt, if you're gonna be all squirly on me fine, I can hold you down no big deal, but don't touch me there, got it?" The tomboy pony said firmly, not brave enough to outright say that she was deathly ticklish on her belly. She tried her best to hide the blush on her blueberry cheeks and reached down once again, gripping the soft downy feathers in her mouth and combing through them.

Apple Bloom could feel herself calming down the moment Applejack laid down as well; even her heartbeat was slowing down to a more relaxed rhythm. She smiled and giggled while simultaneously digging her head into her big sister's side, listening to AJ give one of her classic chuckles all the while.

"Yup, and she's always available for when ah need a pillow, too!" The filly added. Whilst Applejack blushed and nodded, Apple Bloom glanced back towards the wide-open bedroom door, and examined the wallpaper of the wall on the opposite side of the hallway. Her thoughts shot back to the two pegasi. She wondered if Rainbow Dash could really teach Scootaloo how to fly...she was always completely flightless, and it seemed like it might be an impossible sight to see Scootaloo flying, or, at least as well as Rainbow Dash or even the average pegasi.

"Sis, do ya think Rainbow Dash can really get Scootaloo flyin'?" The filly asked curiously, noticing that the sun was setting rapidly, and that Celestia's bright golden sun faded to a deep orange. Soon Princess Luna would be watching over them instead.

Just then, a wide, evil smile appeared on Scootaloo's face. She knew Rainbow's weakness, and was about to use it against her. “Don't try and fool me, sis!”, the orange filly said. Mercilessly, she finally got her revenge and reached for Dash's underbelly again, starting up another furious tickle attack. The blue Pegasus couldn't help it, she fell on her back from laughing so hard.

“Now I gotcha!” Scootaloo wouldn't give up, over the endless laughter of her big sister, she kept on her wave of immens massive tickling. She couldn't help but chuckle herself at how much she was enjoying it. She didn't even notice what Rainbow was doing.

Applejack was looking at the same beautiful image as her little sister. “Apple Bloom, Ah have the biggest faith in the world for those two. They're more perfect for eachother than a refreshing cold apple coder on a hot summer's day. Ah just never realized how introverted Rainbow was compared to how much attention she actually needed. And now, everything is falling into place. I know things can get worked out for them, because that's what being a sister is all about. We always solve our problems, now don't we, sis?” With a smile, Applejack reached over and gave a sweet little nuzzle to her sister's mane.

She then yawned. “Gee, golly, gee...sure is gettin’ late, isn't it? Ah wonder when them Pegasi’ll be back. Wouldn't want them to be out there in the cold misty dusk.”

Rainbow's dignity came crashing down in a smoldering, fiery explosion, as she found herself flat on her back, hooves in the air, being assaulted by a filly. But after the initial surprise, it was she who had the advantage. Wrapping her brightly colored tail around the filly's legs, she pulled Scootaloo away from her just enough to keep her hooves out of range from her own underbelly. Dash sat up on the elbow half point of her front hooves, and gave a disapproving, yet mischievous smirk at the little filly.

"Alright you little pipsqueak, all I was trying to do was help my little sister out by helping her preen, but if you wanna play around and goof off instead, and attack the bull head-on, then you're just gonna have to deal with the bull's horns!" Rainbow pronounced, leaping to all fours in a heartbeat, and tackling the rambunctious, orange crusader in a single pounce.

"Whose got who now, ya little purple-maned tangerine?" Dash teased, digging a single blue hoof into the filly's tummy and rubbing it around quickly. While Scootaloo fell into a fit of giggling, Dash could feel herself smirking again. That feeling in her chest was the same as last time...a warmth. The feeling of...contentment? She couldn't quite place her finger on it. She felt something she thought was similar to it when hugging her friends, but...this one was a bit different. She again shook it off.

"Just cry uncle, squirt, you don't have a chance to get away from the fastest flier in Ponyville!"

Apple Bloom nodded and smiled at her sister's words. Rainbow and Scootaloo were getting along rather well, weren't they? She couldn't wait to see how they turned out. And then, the bright red maned filly's eyes brightened as a delicious thought dawned on her.

"Applejack, now that Scootaloo has Rainbow as her sister, we could have an official Cutie Mark Crusaders Sister Sleepover Extravaganza! With me, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, and you, Rainbow and Rarity!"

AJ nodded and chuckled at the thought. A good thing she and Rarity were far better on terms with sleepovers, thanks to that one with Twilight a month or so back. Otherwise that idea wouldn't turn out so well. And, she was decently sure she could put up with Rainbow for a sleepover. They were rivals, but they were also more similar to one another than Rarity was.

"So...do ya wanna go wait for em'? Or do ya think they'll go back to their homes instead tanight?" Apple Bloom asked, giving a cute yawn as the twilight in the sky began to fade away slowly into night. Luna's stars and moon were quiet and patient, becoming more and more visible as the sun's raise vanished below the horizon.
