Clothing of the Mane 6

I was kinda shy to ask this question. Why are the mane 6 all wearing skirts? There are also pants and shorts. Even Sunset Shimmer is wearing a skirt. Exception to Rainbow Dash as she is also wearing black stuff. I'm kinda scared to see the answers. (PLEASE DONT JUDGE ME)

Because it's easier to manufacture dolls in skirts? Also those are old designs, much more pants now.

but then think about the fan theories such as "Fluttershy is Scootaloo's mother" or "Rarity is actually Sweetie Belle's Mother" it's because Hasbro just doesn't want to change their oppinon (too much).

Since Equestria Girls was the first instance where DHX had to animate humans using the MLP template, they needed simple designs that weren't overly complicated hence the need to give the Rainbooms skirts. Since then, they've gotten much better and are now more comfortable allowing the girls to wear far more complex clothes.
