Theory about Applejack's Parents

It's not specifically stated if they died. The Perfect Pear isn't a exact knock off of Romeo and Juliet because they had kids. So here's my proposal. Apple Jack clearly exists so how could Pear Butter be alive and not me around her kids?

What comes to mind is stories of parents being forced to separate from their kids. War specifically. But they could possibly have been forced to survive in a different environment then equestrian.

I love the idea of the duo being forced to work for a government/society, but are given accommodations by some "good samaritan." Yees! I like it. That way they could meet up with their kids in one piece!

Anyways the problem with their grave being a beautiful tree is people who easily step over their corpses. It's not an appropriate place for burial. Don't you think?

Interesting ideas! I honestly haven't any ideas or theories of my own but I enjoy reading others' theories.
So would you think theres a possibility the perfect pear can return in season 9? Maybe for the 200th episode or something?

Hey @Ray_Knight,

considering the thread deals with events of Gen4 and presents possible theories valid for discussion, I have moved your thread to more appropriate section of Show Discussion from its original posting location.

I am sure you'll garner more attention here... ...as you have already done even before I finished posting this ;>

Maybe for a series finale. Which is possibly down a closer road.

The tree is more of a symbol for everlasting love and it's on private property. It's not specifically stated that they died but it's heavily implied.

What circumstances would result in two farm ponies abandoning their way of life to become government agents when up to their marriage at least we have a pretty clear background on them?

Yeah unfortunately pear butter and bright mac don't get nearly enough attention. i mean come on if I could only watch one episode of MLP for the rest of my life it would be the perfect pear!

Do you know anything about the world wars? Manehattan is a parody of manhattan. There are influences from the real world. And I didn't say government agents did I?

Back then people were forced to work for businesses, groups. Big or small. Some had to cook, clean, organize papers.

In a sense you did.

Quite a bit actually. I'm probably one of the biggest advocates of Equestria having had such a war that you'll meet in these forums. You haven't laid down a framework for your theory though. Saying there are similarities between our world's isn't enough. You'll have to provide supporting evidence from within the show.

You do you. And you misinterpreted my statement and failed to see where I was getting at. If you want a framework (insert tolerant smile) very well.

• Different cities exist in equestrian.

• People in real life will threaten parents this jobs and at times kids will get separated.

• The perfect pear are farmers•

The apple Corps is an attraction in equestria. It's not too far fetched to assume their parents were forced to get different jobs from afar.

• Why didn't they return? In different parts of the world, back then sending messages to far away wasn't easy. If starlight glimmer can brainwash an entire society the perfect pear can easily be placed in hard labor.

• There is no confirmation letters were never received.

Unless you want to think of a slight alternative to the theory or assume they are bastards who gave up on their kids this theory does have framework. Whether you like it or not.  @Sharpwit

In December 2011, Lauren Faust mentioned that the whereabouts of Applejack's parents had not been planned and that the show was unlikely to mention that they've passed away. Faust stated that while she wanted it to be the case, she "didn't think they would allow it." - MLP wiki.

While the character designer cares to differ Lauren Foster is the show creator.

So correct me if I'm still misinterpreting, but it sounds like you're saying that since farm laborers are sometimes captured and basically enslaved in the real world, that this could have happened to Bright Mac and Pear Butter?

Or forced to work. Back then parents had to move away and work so their kids could have better living conditions. And so much more. I like the idea of them being forced to move away, not necessarily kidnapped because that sounds like too much.

For that to work wouldn't the parents have to send some of the money back to the kids? And why would they work elsewhere? They own an apple farm that supplies towns across all of Equestria, along with selling their highly demanded cider, pie, and prized zap apple jam. If the farm isn't profitable they could always keep afloat by cutting down some of the trees to sell for lumber or even the sections of land to new developers. This isn't the great depression where they've lost all of their money and no one else can afford their goods. What would cause them to leave?

Asking questions without knowing what they are. Seems about right.

Who are you all? What kind of creature are you?

Because their talents are recognized. Bigger business. I addressed the letter part I'm sure.
