So how is a child one of the unreformed villains encased in stone for an indefinite period?

I've thought for a while she must be a juvenile changeling queen. In real legends of changelings they steal children and leave their own young. Cozy said friends are power. Probably she doesn't know what she is and she's feeding off love from her friends.

I think that would be a great resolution for her character if they do it someday as a movie or something.

That IS a good theory. I always was hoping they'd incorporate more of the original changeling lore into the show. 

On a side note I used to think that Chrysalis's changelings were all ponies she'd foalnapped and they gradually turned into changelings.
