Alcohol, drugs and smoking: Who would want to be in a stupor that dulls the senses and causes permanent impairment of the brain and body? I’ve known people who have used both alcohol and drugs and the result is terrible. They’re just a shell of their former selves but they believe they are sharper and stronger than ever before. Alcohol, especially the hard stuff, tastes like goat piss (or so I imagine). Drugs are addictive, destructive and expensive. And cigarettes, even the less smelly ones, are not pleasant up close or at a distance. There’s no upside.

Agreed, I don’t like alcohol, drugs, or smoking either.

it's always a shame when a pop thing doesn't land

atm it's the big UK Netflix hit Adolescence.

I quite like the actors... but eh, it's just not for me :(

as for cartoons, I didn't enjoy Full Metal Alchemist much, even though a lot do.

For games, I didn't like the Witcher (although I don't generally like those types of games, so I don't know why I tried)

Frozen.

Like, I've watched both movies. But... I still think it's overhyped.

Oh, and Elsa.

Elsa is one of my least favorite Disney Princesses. Sure, she's magic. But she's ALSO overhyped. Anna deserves more respect.

So yeah... basically anything Frozen

frozen! :pinkiegasp:

okay, I love it too, but it was overhyped

Dragon Ball... It's literally just a bunch of muscular men screaming and fighting poorly choreographed fights with intentionally overpowered moves for the entire runtime at this point. I do say though, the memes are good.

Not only that but Dragonball depicts the fights in a totally unrealistic way, even within the context of fiction it is absurd. Do people really expect villains to cooperate and fly with the hero out of a city in order to avoid hurting civilians? sorry, not how that works. I prefer DC's darker depiction of fictional superpowered fights like the Doomsday movie, where Superman takes a brutal beating in order to save the populace from Doomsday, at the cost of his own life. And while there was collateral damage, that is a more realistic expectation of what would happen if two beings with superpowers went at it in a showdown in a fight for justice.

Even in Hasbro's My Little Pony Friendship is Magic when Twilight Sparkle had a DBZ style fight with Tirek in Twilight's Kingdom episode in season 4, the fight started right away, no wasting time with screaming to build up energy or whatever, no WWE style trash talk, they threw down the gauntlet until the fight came to a draw before that deal was made. People complained about that fight still, yeah, but that fight only lasted 2 minutes out of the whole episode. To me, it isn't something worth complaining about and it certainly did not take away from the main point of the show, as it is conceivable that some villains will be impossible to reason with no matter how much of a diplomat you were. Tirek only made that deal with Twilight in a moment of cowardice when he wasn't willing to drag out the fight any longer, and that worked in Twilight's favour, she outsmarted him. The fight could have dragged out a lot longer like a filler episode, but it did not, so it never annoyed me.

Edit: I'm not saying Dragonball is awful, if I thought it was, I would not still have my Dragonball Kai bluray sets, however it is overrated. And a lot of the decisions the heroes make in the show were questionable and when I say questionable, I'm being charitable here, Vegeta hypocritically accuses Goku of being unintelligent, when Vegeta's blunders caused both Perfect Cell and Majin Buu to reach their full power. Vegeta never learned from his mistakes either.

Flat Design in UI. It looks like it was made in MS Paint but with none of the homemade charm. Just compare the look of Windows 7 vs Windows 8. Yuck. :twilightoops:

I could say Windows 11 would be one of the things people would not get why its so popular, however, one thing to consider here, is we don't have a choice.

It's either that or not have updates for the operating system. If we moved over to Linux distros, they have their benefits, but incompatibility with software makes it an unattractive option for many people. I do think there are things in Windows 11 that could be improved upon though, such as memory efficiency, and a more customizable UI.

This is a good one. Along with the popularity of flat and minimalist logos. Like Petco, Pringles, and Best Buy as examples.

To reiterate my point yesterday about Dragonball. In relation to what some other people said about it, screaming and muscles is not the only criticism to make about the show, there are better ones. Bad decisions characters make, like Goku not taking his second year in the hyperbolic time chamber because he did not believe he could handle the training. Relies on his son, when he could have achieved Super Saiyajin 2 himself, and that was shown in the later arcs during the 7 year time skip, he would've reached SSJ2 before SSJ3 in Other World during that time.

in OG Dragonball Goku was written better and to be less of a fool, but in DBZ and onwards his writing got a lot worse, both in and outside of filler. I can forgive the power up schtick to an extent, because they need to rely on their emotions for their transformations to work, it sort of makes sense within the context of saiyajin biology and mysticism in Dragonball fiction, but making the heroes as incompetent as they are, is unforgivable in my book. Fast foward into Dragonball Super beyond Broly movie, why is Frieza still alive? I cannot stand Goku in that timeline or Vegeta, they're both fools who don't even recognize the danger they're up against, they got their comeuppance for their ignorance in Black Frieza arc, but at what price? Frieza has not reformed and continues to be a problem. If Goku had any common sense, he would've asked for Frieza to be reincarnated, like Buu was, eliminating the problem and saving viewers from the monotony of a recurring villain we are sick of seeing.

I agree with what some people said about it earlier, Dragonball certainly does not deserve the popularity it gets.

Her and later circus baby got way over sexualized. It was not fun to see, especially if you were just trying to play the game for fun.

Incredibly random yet worthy question.

Good thing my fave is Bonnie

Anime. I watched anime but I didn't like it, I don't like absolutely everything there - the plot, the animation style, the actions of the main characters. Of all the anime I watched, I liked only two: Kiki's Delivery Service and Spirited Away. Hayao Miyazaki is the best Japanese animator and he has the best anime. I don't like all the other anime at all.

Five Nights at Freddy's, Poppy Playtime and all of these horror games with a appeal for kids, it's simply one of the weirdest and most curious phenomenon that rised in the previous decade in my opinion. I really don't get what makes the characters scary, they all just look goofy or meh in appearance to me (the "truly scary" ones included, like the animatronics from FNAF 4), the only thing that really scares me are the jumpscares in these games, but anything can easily give me a jumpscare, other than that, nothing really works in these games for me, they all try to have a deep story, but from what I saw all of them are meh to me.

A lot of adults and kids like them, for me it's weird specially when it comes to the kids, I mean, I understand if the "cute" characters call their attention, but, regardless of the quality, don't they shit their paints with the atmosphere and nature of these games? Do they even understand the story the games try to tell? And the adults? Don't think that things like Fatal Frame or Outlast are better?

I don't even know how Poppy got so much merchandise, there was a time I saw a lot of people showing toys based on it, and FNAF getting a movie was also a surprise for me.

Anyway, not really complaining, don't see a problem with people enjoying these games, though a kid get could a heart attack from them or anything, but I don't think it happens. It really just confuses me why these are so popular, I can understand the charm of a lot of things I dislike / don't care about, but not this one in specific. ~☆

I can give reasons

1. The story, a lot of kids got into FNAF and Poppy for story reasons

2. Characters, a lot of the characters design wise appeal to a wide array of kids and older teens

3. Youtubers, if kids see their favorite youtubers talk about something they'll want in on it too

As for me? I'm a combination of number one and the secret number 4, just because

Literally I just like CatNap, and Bonnie, that's mostly why I'm here, and making alternate universes when the story doesn't go how I want

I remember watching a few youtubers telling the stories of these games during a short time when I was younger, was curious to see how the games and the stories were like. I think they seem a bit too complex for kids to understand them, but if they really get into these games because of the stories like you said then I think i'll trust it. I even saw them talking about stuff like books, these universes seem to be really big.

Still I can't really understood what's the charm in them, I remembered that these are called Mascot Games, I understand what's the concept behind the creation, the appeal for kids is because they pretty much try to make charismatic characters, something that maybe "adult horror games" don't try to do (though for me characters like Pyramid Head are just infinitely more charismatic), like, Sonic and Mario but in a horror game (though these two also are infinitely more charismatic to me)

Maybe it's just me being a boring adult, but actually even when I was kid I wasn't interested by these games, I remember that in 2014 I already thought that FNAF looked meh, and I thought the same about all the sequels. I always preferred creepypastas when I was a kid, I still prefer them to this day actually, even though I don't really like them anymore.

Well, anyway I respect anyone who likes them, though I at least think these kids are smart enough to avoid stuff like Garten of BanBan. Everytime I saw someone talking about this series it was just to compare it with dumpster fire. FNAF & Poppy's character designs are already meh for me, but Garten of BanBan hits a new low :ButtercupLaugh:
