Jesse Terrence 2,968 February 12, 2021 Share February 12, 2021 Hrm, I think the tag won't do, but couldn't find anything under "art" as in graphical art. Anyway. I was recalling an old twitter trend that came back in 2019 where they would recall bronies that passed away before the decade ended. I was sad to see nopony recalled Ghost, given she did some art and gave us the polemic stoner trixie. All in all was a nice person and all, and she even drew a clipart thingie for cheraxdestructor back in the day. So that there made me check my dA and recall better times for content creators. I noticed several of my watches had been innactive for years. That brought me to this. What artists you admired are no longer active (doesn't matter the reason, just that they no longer do pony art)? I can name a few, like 3 right now. Ghost, as I mentioned, because she's gone. May she rest in peace. Kmrshy. Never knew what happened to that artist. Dunno if just deserted their accounts, was doxxed or anything else. SpanishScoots. Funny fact, she's mexican like yours truly. She constantly joined new fandoms. Last thing I recall is she doing gravity falls fanart. She used to be a digibro (no idea if there's a term for digimon fans). She was into my fave digimon, dorumon (reason why I discovered her in the first place). Then she started to pony and I just had to watch her dA xD Oh, and CSImadmax, too! She gave us the beloved Shinning Dorkmor and the trollestia science comic! I think she had to leave because real life economical issues. Say, anyone else you remember?
ded acc 317 February 12, 2021 Share February 12, 2021 (edited) Does anybody else remember and misses Moe? https://www.equestriadaily.com/2016/01/pony-history-of-day-artist-moe.html I remember his/her stuff was the "you will never be this good, so why even draw" example in the early days of the pony craze. While later artists outdid Moe in quality and skill, the stuff still holds something dear to me. The extra weird thing is that... the art was just dumped no e-fame or e-begging. So pure! It was really surprising that so many really good artists worked on MLP all at once. The first few years were magical seeing so many crazy good people just pop up and seeing the trends in fanart etc. It certainly helped to illustrate the fascination and magic of the era. Writers and game devs too, if you come to think about it. Fics such as past sins and background pony had a trend of fanart on themselves. And let's not forget the infamous cupcakes. In a way, the grimdark scene would have not attracted so many people if sprinkles hadn't wrote his shockfic in the first place. I think that fic is an unsung heroe of sorts. Many of the best artists I saw worked around the lore from cupcakes.

There were some subfandoms in the fandom. Like Fallout Equestria was it's own huge thing with fanfics for the fanfics. I really liked that energy.

I like how painterly they are. Many people prefer making more detailed renders. So it will end up looking almost like a 3d render. Crazy you can make both with the same tools. Digital Painting come a Loooong way from the early 2000s.

Megas 27,699 February 14, 2021 Share February 14, 2021 UC77 was my favorite for sure. Well known for Hot-Blooded Pinkie Pie, his main shtick was mixing pony with giant robots, mecha, and over-the-top anime, basically ticking all of my boxes. Unfortunately like a lot of fans he was done in 2016 and I haven't seen him do anything since
