RainbowSonic#1Fan 20 August 15, 2014 Share August 15, 2014 (edited) it was meant to give the idea girls arent always into the stereotypical crap thrust upon older generations and I still believe it was to break the line of male female barriers thats what lauren had in mind I think and im surenshe said something like that aswell would ya rather men saw themselves better than women like the old days? The idea wasnt to make women look better but to equalize things if ya follow.. this gender role is always what it comes back to and such a vile thing should not exist as besides men having penises and women well you get the rest we are all human and should be treated no different so the show isnt being one sided its just giving females the image they deserve. Thats my opinion though. I agree that they can balance things out a bit for Male and Females, but I also believe they can do that without a giant reboot all over again. Changing it slowly to balance things out even more and giving more screen time for other characters as the seasons progress would be better than rebooting and taking a risk that we might all be so tense to wait for happening. I believe the Mane 6 have grown to be like Mascots for Hasbro and MLP. That and the revolutionary design. It's something that can't be replaced. RainbowSonic#1Fan 20 August 15, 2014 Share August 15, 2014 My opinion? G4 is the best generation they have ever had. So, they will probably keep it until they notice it being to die down, which I do believe will be a long while. My opinion? G4 is the best generation they have ever had. So, they will probably keep it until they notice it being to die down, which I do believe will be a long while. I have a feeling you couldn't get MLP: FiM to die down unless Hasbro has gone nuts and asks for a 82 episode season all to be done in a small timeline, if they keep moving along at a slow pace with only a limited amount of episodes a year/season. Their sure to be fresh and active all ready and awake for a new season full of bright ideas. If they want to change something, they could do it in the same Generation rather than a reboot. I mean, if they so happen to make 6 episodes dedicated to other ponies that would be fine as long as we get to see the Mane 6 in the end. Diversity isn't a bad idea at all and that's what I think will prevent it from dying down... well... at all! They can always add new characters and give the Mane 6 a break such as what they did with the Cutie Pie Crusaders and Appleblume's season 1 episode. That way once they haven't given the Mane 6 enough attention they'll have plenty of ideas once you do an episode centering around the Mane 6 again. Personally id like to see the fan made vid about how sombra became so evil made into a full episode. I loved the video and the music was a hell of a match to the vid tale of one shadow.

I believe there shouldn't be a limit to it. Just my opinion of course. Because why make a new Generation when you can just change parts of the current Generation ie more characters/story writers. More episodes DIRECTLY devoted to side characters and their stories. That way the story for the Mane 6 could be brainstormed by other story writers while other writers concentrate on other episodes not related to them (gives time for a good plot for the next mane 6 episode)

Ok it was badly done forget I said anything lol. Edited August 15, 2014 by chaos rains
CriticalStylus 65 August 15, 2014 Share August 15, 2014 I'm sorry, RainbowSonic#1Fan, but I can't help but disagree with you completely about what you've been saying. Yes, the show has a lot of untapped potential, and yes, the characters are now beloved and iconic; But the longer you extend a lifespan, the more the series will stagnate.
Zekromic 1,054 August 15, 2014 Share August 15, 2014 I don't expect them to change generation soon, it's more likely they'll make a new show, either in the same canon as FiM, or has totally nothing to do with it. I'll give them a decade at least to change to G5 Take note I'm referring a redesign of ponies as a new Gen, not a new show

I'm sure Hasbro isn't dumb enough to mess with a good design or remove the Mane 6. I sure hope not.

I can kind of agree with what your saying about rainbows comment but who is to say when the series will go stagnant? It may last long it may be cut short lets hope the first though as there is like you said plenty more to be done with the series. Its all down to the writers and if you can get a few good ones as rainbow said it should be a good run I would think.

That's why, as I much love FiM, I prefer it to end while is still good, instead of ending it because it deteriorated. I'd rather keep the good memories to the end instead of leaving with bad ones

It would still be perferred that they just change the story within the same generation to be honest. Now lets see if that falls on the other foot, a girl likes transformers (which although its audience was supposed to be little boys has always had strong female charatcers) she gets labled as a tomboy maybe and nothing else comes of it. I just think if the show had equally prevalant male charatcers it would balance the hatevout a little. Just my views
RainbowSonic#1Fan 20 August 15, 2014 Share August 15, 2014 (edited) Actually I can't help but admit it's True myself... nothing can last forever and I just don't feel like saying goodbye to the Mane 6 yet ;( Lol either that or I'm in denial xD. I just hope the Show Lasts as long as it can go But eventually if it runs dry of ideas, they could make a sequel like Korra was to the Last Airbender with the whole thing in the same generation. When I became a brony I was shocked at what I stupidly judged to be a show for little girls true about the older ones but I shouldve gave this a chance earlier. And if huys can love this show then somethings being done well dont you agree?

Just my views its partly how they are raised I think we need tk teach kids to be open minded and less judgemental so yeah I agree it is bad. Im hoping kne day we can really get passed this stupidity though since like you said young boys are being bullied because of it. As we are bronies we should be supporting each other though. I wouldnt wish such vile things be said or done to you and also what they say would be an attack on all of us. In hard times we help the ones we love so why not help all in there dark days?

Is it possible for a successful reboot of the MLP universe coming true where the main characters can be brought over? I can hope at least... does anyone think its possible for Hasbro to successfully pull it off? Like an ending for G4 with the Mane 6 saying goodbye to Ponyville or moving somewhere else where a new story will take over G4 in the same generation. I do not see a need for the generations to keep changing. Take sonic, he's been rebooted twice (and his second wasn't that successful for a start) the rest of the games can proceed in the same generation just with better story. Theres no point in dwelling on it so just enjoy what you have and any mistakes later if very small dont threat too much after all its just a wonderfully made tv series. Nothing lasts forever just see how it goes.

And besides, if the setting is going to change, what's the point of retaining characters who are likely to reach their peak during G4? Besides, that would be jumping the shark, sorry.
