How to introduce someone to MLP?

How would you convince someone to MLP?

Would you introduce them by letting them sit through all the seasons?

Or would you go on to skip some episodes and just watch  the "double episodes" mostly first and last two episodes?

The two-part pilot is the "best" way to introduce someone to MLP. However, I think there's a number of episodes that would be good to show a newcomer that give them a feel for the show:

- Fall Weather Friends

- The Best Night Ever

- Pinkie Apple Pie

- The Saddle Row Review

I agree, first two episodes of season one are a pretty good way to tell if they are going to enjoy the rest of the series

Perhaps sharing some fan art/animation/music you think they might like as well, they might find the fandom side of things interesting

I wouldn't sit someone though a whole season if they didn't end up being interested, but the first two episodes is a good start

Really, there's only a handful of episodes in the first season that you need to watch that are crucial to the "plot"

1. Friendship is Magic (Parts 1-2) - Introduction to the main characters and setting.

2. Griffon the Brush-Off  - Gilda and the Griffons become important later.

3. Boast Busters - Not great, but introduces Trxie, another character who becomes important later.

4. Call of the Cutie - Introduction of the CMCs

5. Sonic Rainboom - Furthers Rainbow Dash as a character and her quest to become a Wonderbolt.

6. The Cutie Mark Chronicles - Origin stories for main characters.

I personally think MLP needs no introduction, someone randomly looking at the ponies and seeing how colorful and cute they are can be enough to this person to convince itself to watch it or not, just like as I did a year ago, it was my own interests that called me to watch the show, the stories are simple and easy to understand, and it's a reboot, so anyone who starts watching it won't feel confused, they will watch the first episodes and they'll decide if they should continue or not.

If MLP had a complex watch order, where someone would need to watch specific episode(s) or special(s) or read a comic before getting into the first episodes, then I would try to guide that person

But the show is not like that at all, so for me someone can get into it through their own initiatives :)

In my opinion it isn't the best idea to convince anyone. Just tell that person why you like the show, you may even ask to give it chance and if person is interested that's great! If they isn't then ok as well.

My experience says that most people just do not care about MLP and it isn't very polite to insist on liking what you like.

The first two episodes are always my recommendation since they’re what personally got me hooked on the series.

Really most of the season 1 and 2 episodes should be a good starting point, they’re relatively simple and have a lot of charm to them imo.
