Basic Info

Primary RP Thread: When Worlds Collide - Scifi Adventure

RP Type: A moderately directed scifi adventure with combat and increasing stakes. Slice of Life moments scattered frequently throughout

System: Logic-based - if you can make it make sense, you can do it. This might be changed to a stat and roll system in the future, I don't know yet.

Player Death?: No players will die permanently

Setting: Slight AU of Generation 4. Twilight is Co-Ruler of Equestria with Celestia and Luna. Celestia and Luna remain in Canterlot, while Twilight remains in Ponyville.

Length: Unknown

Player Structure: 4 player slots:
Player Character 0 Slot: @Saphire Systrine as "Mysterious Pony" -  Character Sheet
Player Character 1 Slot: @Silly Druid as "Ponyville Teacher" - Character Sheet TBD
Player Character 2 Slot: @Skylight Scintillate as "Tinker Twinkle" - Character Sheet TBD
Player Character 3 Slot: Gala Attendee 1 - Does not appear yet. If you wish to apply, reply below

Language usage: Pony swearing only (aka "buck" and "flying feather")

Some notes:

The characters will be going to The Gala relatively soon within the RP, within the first day or so, so do be prepared for that

It's also okay that you don't know everything about the characters. This first part will be pretty SOL, so just, you know, role-play like you're these characters!

And do go easy on me. I've never done an RP in THIS format, and its been years since my last RP Formatting feedback is appreciated in this thread.

I'm going to make a post in the RP now, and create my character later, then I'll edit my posts so they belong to that character. The description you've given is pretty accurate though.

I assume the quantum theory is already known to ponies, because Twilight mentions it in "Hooffields and McColts". That's why my character is talking about it at the beginning. But since the technology level in G4 seems to be lower than in real world, I assumed it's still a relatively new thing, and not widely accepted yet. So, like at the beginning of the 20th century in our world.

Also I'd love to see a "crazy book-horse rampage"

One more thing: I hope you don't mind that my character's avatar will be AI generated, because I'm not good at drawing stuff.

Actually, for this RP, it's more like the start of their space age Though most of the stuff is kept under wraps. The biggest project is the O.F.C. (orbital friendship canon ):

As well as a lunar colony led by Luna. These are both still in their early stages of development though. When you have magic, things like this can go alot faster.
I'll probably add this to the OOC if you think I should.

That's interesting, I still think my post makes sense though, because when you have magic, you can begin the space age with a little less scientific knowledge. So I won't change my post, unless it goes against your established lore.

OK, since you're offering...

Description: Unicorn, stallion, dark blue coat, pale yellow mane, light blue eyes. Often wears glasses.

Not good at magic, can only perform basic unicorn spells like Telekinesis and Illumination. Gets excited about new scientific ideas, can get absent-minded sometimes. Solves problems by logical thinking, doesn't like when others say things that don't make sense.

Here's an AI picture I generated for him. The AI didn't follow my prompt closely, the coat color should be darker and the mane more pale. Also I forgot to give instructions about eye color. The suit was AI's idea, it's not necessary. I do like the little beard the AI gave him though.

How old is he? Does he wear clothes (like in the example image)? What does he generally look like? Tired? In a 'pulls long nights' way or a 'is depressed/grumpy' way? Exited? Or more down-to-earth and nerdy?

Middle aged. Doesn't wear clothes normally, only for special occasions. As I mentioned, he can look a little absent-minded, because of thinking about abstract scientific ideas instead of dealing with the situation at hoof.

I'm almost done with work here, but when I'm home, I can get to cooking. I've not posted Azure yet, and I can come up with somepony else if it feels more appropriate. Admittedly I'm not too used to using forums yet.

Fusion 360 by Autodesk is for making things you're going to, like, manufacture irl. And it's expensive ;u;

I use Blender, and it's Blender's Eevee render engine, not the raytracing one people commonly use (cycles)

Fusion is the commoner version of inventor, which is what I learned to use! I can't make heads or tails of blender... Also I'm done cooking! I think.

I have the same problem as Druid. I don't have a picture of my character yet, and I'm not good at making art. However, maybe I can create a reference image in Pony Town to use.

 

Also, another note, it feels like you're moving the plot kind of slowly in the RP, so it makes it hard to figure out how to write enough in character to fulfill the character requirements in Advanced Roleplays. (The character requirement is 800 characters, which is quite hard to get without quoting previous posts.) Could you put in a bit more for us to work with?

Totally understandable. Blender is very shortcut-heavy for speed so it can be a learning curve!

Ponytown is totally fine to use! If you send me a picture of the character I can update the 3d model I made of them!  (if ya dont know what I'm talking about, look at the rp thread)

Yeah I apologize about that. I've had quite a lot of crunch time in IRL work so I havent been able to pay as much attention as I'd like. I've been 3d modeling characters, sets, and assets for the rp as well, and that takes time.I was initially going to send my most recent post in the morning my time, but 3D modeling all the current RP characters took a lot more time than I expected. I finished it a little after midnight because of other work I had to do

I'm also still a little unfamiliar with this format of roleplay and the forum culture, and dont want to make things too wild too fast. I might be overthinking things though…

As for the character limit, that took me by surprise as it wasnt explicitly mentioned anywhere before I made the rp. I really prefer things to be shorter because it can allow for 'faster' moments which I need. So I'm probably gonna see if @Ice Princess Silky <3 or mod would be willing to move the thread over to casual just for the smaller character minimum…

Either way, I'm sorry for the slowness @Silly Druid @Skylight Scintillate
