K_Cast 203 November 6 Author Share November 6 Hello everypony, I just wanted to let you all know that i am working on a number of your oc characters, to be honest a lot more ponies responded then I was imagining so it was a little overwhelming but I think I got everything organized and I can start popping these out if my hand will allow me to. Carpel Tunnel is not fun so I'm having to use some computer help for some of the shading and clean up. I was a 2D animator for a while, I went to school for this originally but years of drawing for kids, working real jobs, and writing have taken their toll on my body in many different ways to the point where I needed to find a little help until i got control over the pain element. I don't use this stuff for the main artwork, and just started playing with this a month ago when the teacher recommended it, but its basically saving me from completely destroying what's left of my wrists. If you are not a fan of this i understand, but its the best way I've found so far to dial the pain down some. Part of why I wanted to do these was to condition my wrists better so I wont need to use any help at all. I never needed to, but a teacher showed me how to get some help in photoshop to clean up, do some of the heavier shading and a few other light things and its honestly helped a lot with the pain, the finer details are what hurts the most to do. Through doing these I'm hoping I can come out the other side not needing to use any help at all, as I never needed to in the past. Thank you for all of the support and I will finish up as many of these as I can as fast as i can. But I see no reason not to finish everyone's OC, I am going in order, I'm trying to do a few a day, but with this many replies it might be a few days, but I will get to you. All the love to you all, and thank you again for letting me draw your wonderful characters, even after 14 years in the fandom it still amazes me how creative and wonderful you all are. Stay the course and Friendship is Forever. 1

K_Cast 203 November 6 Author Share November 6 Hi there! Wonderful to meet you, ya I will be starting officially in February so I'm trying to retrain my eye and condition my wrists so I can do whatever job they will have for me. I'm not really getting into the animation part itself, they more wanted to make sure I knew what I was looking at I think more then anything else. I will be on the production management side, or production coordinator over seeing what ever animation projects they might have use for me in. I have experience running this kind of stuff directing and producing Equestrian Tales, and other animations BUT I know the Disney way is a lot more real. I'm in school now at Full Sail University for Entertainment Business, I went to school in the past at The Art Institute of Seattle for Animation so I'm basically trying to combine that into a career. My end game is to become an Animation Producer, bringing cartoons to life that will help kids and people in general. I run a small animation studio now, the main goal will be to bring in people from all over, help them learn animation, and give them their first real push in the industry, a Launchpad Studio if you will, but I want to get into the industry so I can make sure I'm doing things right, and becoming the leader they need me to be. I've also been staffing conventions since helping put together the first everfree nw in 2011 to build some connections, many who have or are joining our Equestrian Tales production team. If you want to learn more about that one its on this same forum. https://mlpforums.com/topic/169440-equestrian-tales-currently-in-production/ But ya there is a long road, but I moved across the US to do this, and I have no choice now but to move forward. Thank you so my and I hope you have a wonderful day, I will get on Applejack shortly! 11 hours ago, Minka said: OMG ANOTHER CO-WORKER! Hi! ^^ As a fellow who was in the program in 2020, wishing you the best of luck and extending hoof with piece of advice... If you really wanna train, headshots of ponies are very nice general-expression-wise, but you'd need more than that. One of the 1st exercise you do in Character Design course (my teacher was Aaron Blaise, he's a great guy and likes animals - like me! ^^) is to design a skeletal structure basing on a picture. It shows if you can do anatomy or whatnot, and in animation, "pencil rigging" is crucial! They value it especially these days because it's something AI still messes up. Therefore, if you wanna practise, try to draw skeletal structure of somepony. If you want it as request, then do Applejack, any basic screen from the show will do. Good luck! :3 Thank you so much, and I will for sure add your OC to the list, i love the winged ones! I will take as best care of your OC as I can as I know how special they are to you and everypony. Thank you again for giving me some practice, and hope to have her out soon. I will DM you the final, as well as post it on here if thats ok? Have a great rest of your day, and pony on! 6 hours ago, Miss Price said: OMG!!! YOUR DRAWINGS ARE PERFECT!! And congrats on getting a contract to work at Disney Animations!!! I hope all your dreams come true and that you can spread the message of the magic of friendship to your co-workers and all the children in the world. I have an O.C. named Glitter Gum, she's in my profile picture. She's an inventor in the field of technology and is always wearing her brass googles or other acessories thats hide her eyes. (Her name comes from the fact that her hair shines like glitter... and has a sweet taste) Feel free to draw her however you want. If you want to change something in her design or add accessories, feel free. XD Consider drawing her an exercise of creativity too 1

Silver Wind 114514 47 November 8 Share November 8 Well here's mine. A cute little unicorn with bio-machinism wings. (Just because she's a bit talented in science magic and loves flying.) Her hair and tail shape are the same as RD but the hair beside her neck are supposed to look like SG. So…have fun drawing her.

(A Power Chord is a "Chord" that is very used in Rock, specially at the start of a show like "Are you ready to Rock'n Roll?!") Ponydorf is a Swiss style village (inspired by "Apple Strudel", the uncle of Applejack). His parents are Gold Glance, a chief miner from the village and Miss Porcelaine, owner of a humble Pottery Shop in the village. His parent's had a lot of expectations about him; they wanted an heir for the Pottery shop or the mines, but when he saw a mysterious pony traveler who played the guitar and had the opportunity to play one, he received his Cutie Mark (A yellow lightning bolt.) and changed his filly name to "Power Chord". Power Chord Cutie Mark is the emoji of electricity, because his bold, fun and loyal nature. He looks at first serious and a bit aggressive, but in reality he is very Friendly (he embodies the "Spirit of Loyalty" like Rainbow Dash). He knows about all kinds of music that can be played with any guitar, and specially improvisation as guitar player and a Rocker. He also knows a bit of technology (Electric guitar, Amp's, electricity) and he is "Streetwise" so he can move in "underground" movements, know what people gossip about... Oh boy! I wish this is enough about his personality. @K_Cast 1 1 2

Wizard 1,260 November 11 Share November 11 So I had a question @K_Cast ... I've been staring at your work for a while and noticed some discrepencies. Your example images and the new images look awfully... Interesting. I wanted to see how the OC work came out, but something about this feels wrong. I'm not one to point fingers, and I'm more asking in order to get a clear understanding. But I strongly suspect that these images are AI generated, perhaps modified afterwards? I wanted your opinion on this. I will spoiler these images, but they explain why I feel the way I do. Spoiler 1 minute ago, Princess Cookie said: Oh, your work looks a bit Ai generated. Nobody is starting fights or pointing fingers, we're just noticing something that seems odd! In todays world with AI around every corner, you need to double-check sometimes! TheJollyofPones 2,314 November 11 Share November 11 In my honest opinion it seems like the artist just has a lot of different artstyle experience, I can still draw in my middle school artstyle and it's been 4 years since I've drawn that way on purpose.
K_Cast 203 November 11 Author Share November 11 (edited) I did say that I am using AI help to finish the images, I have rather bad carple tunnel in both wrists and one of the teachers are school showed me how to do this using adobe's ai as the really deep detail was what was hurting me the most. I draw the base work, line art and all that, but the AI does the shading and finer details. If people don't like that I started using this to help then really I dont know what else to say. Its allowing me to make art like I use to. I was a 2D animator I could draw stuff like this in my sleep for 20 years, but a life of making art, and working full time takes a toll on the body, this has helped me be able to do what I love again. Before anyone brings it up, I have not charged anyone for these nor was I ever planning too, its not taking anyones job as I did the base work to begin with, and I'm just using it as a tool. If no one wants the art because I got some help with a program then I will stop doing them. The reason i started doing these requests was so I could condition my drawing hand enough so I do not need the AI help at all before I go to work at Disney in February. I will not be making artwork there, I'm going in on the production management side, but this is still something I love. If its to much for the fandom then I will just keep drawing for kids, thats always been my priority and what got me into animation in the first place. I do not use this stuff in production, I only found out how to do this with the AI help this last month so I was experimenting with it, and it has indeed helped with the pain a great deal. Lastly let me post a few images, to prove that I did draw these, i had to prove it already to the admins. I have been on this site since its beginning, I helped start Poniverse back in the day building promo animations and been posting art on this site for many years, I started trying out some new stuff is all, I will go back to what I was doing. Anyways here is some images showing the progress of one of the OC characters. 16 minutes ago, Wizard said: So I had a question @K_Cast ... My mom had carpal tunnel at some point so I know it's most likely painful something fierce... Medical problems with your hands and holding writing utensils does not mix, take it from me, in 4th grade I broke my hand and I had to write with it in a cast because it was my writing hand
K_Cast 203 November 11 Author Share November 11 Im sorry to hear that, this was not to much an issue for a good long while, but this last year or so its gotten really bad since we got into main production as I'm writing screenplay's, drawing, and typing up all kinds of documents along side normal work, it really accelerated the issues. This is why im in school now for the production management side, simply put my body cannot do this for much longer, but I still want a career in animation even if I cannot draw to much anymore. 3 minutes ago, ThatFestivePone said: No, no, it's alright!
