Snoopy Fan 1,062 January 3 Share January 3 (edited) I had just learned that Britt Allcroft, the creator of Thomas and Friends, has passed away. While I myself am not the biggest fan of Thomas and Friends, I can’t deny how important the show is to a lot of people and it’s sad to hear about her passing. May she rest in peace. Dark Qiviut 22,444 January 4 Share January 4 Thomas & Friends is one of my all-time favorite shows, and Britt Allcroft's vision of the show is a big reason why. Without her, Thomas wouldn't become the worldwide phenomenon it is today. May she RIP. 3 "Talent is a pursued interest." — Bob Ross Pro-Brony articles: 1/2/3/
Misty Shadow 7,941 January 4 Share January 4 Very sad news. The Thomas and Friends series was a big part of my childhood with the show being my self-proclaimed favorite show when I was little. I also enjoyed what I read of The Railway Series, the books the show was based on. Even after I outgrew the series, it always held a special place in my heart. Rest in peace to this woman, no one will ever forget what she did for this iconic franchise. 3 Comet's still best boi. <
Ganondorf8 11,352 January 4 Share January 4 News of her death began making the rounds a day or two ago despite the fact that she had actually passed away on Christmas Day. Britt Allcroft was able to take Thomas the Tank Engine from the books and adapted him into a series which has had worldwide appeal for over 40 years now across multiple media forms. I grew up with the early iteration of the series as narrated by Ringo Starr so I associate him the most with Thomas.
