Misty Shadow 7,955 January 16 Share January 16 Love how they're going hard with the "It's just like the original Switch, but better!" pitch. Super happy about the backwards compatibility and I really hope the Joy-Cons for the system are an improvement. 1 Comet's still best boi. <

Cash In 22,518 January 17 Share January 17 I know we were all expecting this, but I'm still laughing at how they announced this so damn casually. Yeah, backwards compatibility was to be expected. We all knew there was no way they wouldn't include it, but actually hearing it be confirmed is a relief. In regards to that new Mario Kart, we obviously don't know much at this stage. But, there seems to be at least 24 spots on the starting grid, so that's quite interesting. 1 At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do. Snoopy Fan 1,514 January 17 Share January 17 I wonder what new games we’ll get besides the new Mario Kart. I’d personally like to see another 3D Mario game.

Backwards compatibility is nice, it should practically be a standard process for new consoles. However, I'd like to see FORWARD compatibility. In other words, I would like if the original Switch can play Switch 2 games. Even if it's not the best experience; even if you lose some graphical fidelity, resolution size, or a drop in FPS; I'd be happy to see them making the games available to both consoles. Save the best experience for the Switch 2, but still make it so that people don't have to ditch their original Switch. I really, really hope the Joycons actually have a lock-in system. Some people have been saying they will lock in via magnets; and I really hope that's not it. Otherwise, we're going to see a lot of people accidentally dropping the gaming pad. Just one accidental jerk, and they'll unintentionally pop both of the Joycons out at the same time. Despite everything, I really don't need the Switch 2 to improve everything. A higher resolution would be nice. Higher FPS would be nice too. I could suggest a bunch of things; but I don't want it to risk a higher price point to offset all the additional hardware. The Switch being cheaper than all the other major consoles was easily the highest selling point, and I don't want to lose that with the Switch 2.
