Night Sky 841 July 11 Share July 11 (edited) The Alpha Labs of DOOM 3 are a special flavor which I've never seen repeated in quite the same way, no matter how many bad Sci-Fi FPS games I continue to play. Most creepy is Alpha Sector 4, and while this screenie is not quite there, it nonetheless captures something of the essence of whatever it is that I am nebulously rambling on about this time. Notice a certain H.R. Giger inspired, non-rational biomorphic curvature to this machine, even if it is purely technological and devoid of any fleshly components. The Alpha labs in particular hint at a psychic environment as much as they do a physical environment, and for this reason I've always felt that here was the most frightening and unnerving part of DOOM 3.
