What if Paramount picked up My Little Pony?

My Little Pony has a massive media distribution problem now. It has been jumping from company to company, first from Discovery, then Netflix, and now presumably Amazon if the live action movie does happen. Given that Netflix has absolutely SHAFTED Make Your Mark in favor of more Big Mouth. Hasbro had cut ties with them as all of FiM is no longer available on that service. This leaves MLP without any kind of distribution as Hasbro has no streaming service or FAST channel to distribute it, and I don't think they would want to finance one given their situation. Discovery Family is on life support and will not be around any longer after the contract expires and Youtube isn't a good enough platform.

But one thing has me pondering, What if Paramount got the media distribution rights to MLP?

Keep in mind this is speculation.

Having Paramount distribute or even make MLP content isn't that far-fetched. They also have Transformers and Peppa Pig, two other Hasbro properties with media and even distributed the G3 home video movies in the 2000s. Sure they f---d up Transformers One, a move that caused Hasbro to stop co-financing movies. But that doesn't mean they'll no longer have Hasbro properties if Hasbro breaks up with them given that they both have been together since 2007. Plus, that was then, this is now.

In case no one noticed, Paramount merged with Skydance Media and has new leadership. The new CEO is David Ellison instead of Shari Redstone and Brian Robbins, David has had a history of working with Paramount for the Transformers movies and is working to turn the company around after they were struggling to stay alive under Shari. Plus, he has one important thing and that is MONEY, he's the son of Oracle founder and multi-billionaire Larry Ellison and teamed up with Redbird Capital to buy Paramount. Before this, Paramount was on the verge of going bankrupt which is why they merged. So the new leadership could very well afford to pay Hasbro for MLP.

Assuming G5 gets a reboot that undoes everything previously established or Camp Cutie Mark happens, Paramount should be the one that makes and distributes it. David is prioritizing kids and family content using Nickelodeon and it's animation studio to roll out new shows for children.

Since G5 has been set to a child audience, It will obviously be Nickelodeon who does this show with blessings from Hasbro and new episodes would be broadcasted on Nick Jr. before it gets onto Paramount Plus.

I say G5 because whatever the "Year of the Pony" is and what the "total brand reinvention" will look like in 2026. It will most likely be G5 overhauled to undo everything Goldner set up and start anew to fit the current company's trajectory. It can't be G4 rebooted because Warner Bros owns the media rights, not Hasbro, so people thinking G4 is coming back need to understand this. G4 may be back merch-wise as Hasbro still owns that side of G4. I could see the mane six reappear to as toy-exclusives, they simply won't be in nor mentioned in the show.  Plus there's this....

If the brand is doing well and they still acknowledge g5, then a sixth generation is unnecessary. Not to mention it is currently unfeasible because of Hasbro's ongoing economic trouble which includes the tariffs and falling birth rates and the selling of Entertainment One.

If Paramount gets the rights, then it would be beneficial for both parties. Paramount gets more content to add to their small library, and Hasbro can focus more on the toys without having to focus on media.
