G5 may be back next year?

I think that G5 is coming back next year, even though Tell Your Tale was abruptly cancelled last year and those Camp Cutie Mark leaks as well as the "Year of the Pony" in 2026 does have people think Hasbro is moving on from G5 and that it's completely done, is it really though? I mean I used to think that it was done and G6 was dead ahead, but then I slowly started to think the exact opposite given I've been looking at official information from themselves as well as the current situation. I was able to connect the dots and came to the conclusion that G5 is actually NOT cancelled and G6 won't be until another 5 years, despite the rumors saying otherwise. Here's why......

 

1. Hasbro says that they have new content coming out in 2026. 

Ok, but here's the question, Why 2026? It seems to early to roll out G6, how could that even happen? They would have to be working at breakneck speed in order to do that, it just seems too early to conceptualizing a sixth generation given the time and money, both of which Hasbro doesn't currently have. 

2. Hasbro hasn't fully thrown G5 into the trash can. 

In a recent licensing magazine, which features TYT. Hasbro says that MLP is doing well and hasn't forgotten about G5. 

 

So I am thinking that whatever this "brand reinvention" is Hasbro overhauling G5 to be disconnected from G4. Which is for the best imo as being connected to G4 has doomed it. G4 was owned by Warner Bros which limited Make Your Mark's story being continued. A new G5 show would have no G4 lore or characters mentioned and be a completely new universe.

It may also be more for kids but MLP has always been for kids.

I would love for that to happen and I am glad G5 is still getting new merchandise in China in addition to being celebrated at a festival there this year. However, I would not get my hopes up without seeing something definite.

Hasbro said that there was new MLP content coming out in 2026. However, it's looking like that content might have been pushed back to 2027; at least that's when the  announced live-action movie is supposed to be released. 

It would be great, though, if Renegade Game Studios announces one or more new MLP game releases next month!
