The world is a different place from 2010. Those of you who grew up with the show, or otherwise kept with it from the beginning, were part of something remarkable.

fun fact: i watched this show the day it came out. like a lot of 2010s shows.

i also watch the hub lps series when it first came out. it's been so long and yet i haven't changed much since i was a kid/teen lol

Wow, 12 years old in 2010 makes you 27 now. How does it feel to have grown up with the show?

It somehow feels like both not that long ago and at the same time EONS ago that G4 started. I still remember those days when everyone was surprised it even made it past the first season, and then everyone wondering if season 3 was gonna be our grand finale after the way it ended (along with the whole twilicorn and equestria girls insanity, ohhhhh good times :ButtercupLaugh:).

Here's to hopefully another 15 years! :derpy-party:

@Luciferase I think I first heard about Bronies and the whole phenomenon in 2012, perhaps 2011. So strange to think back on that time and feel like it's not long ago at all, and very little having changed from then to now. But if I moved that same time span to 1980-1995, the endpoints are unimaginably different. 

People were surprised it went more than one season? Seems hard to believe, but I'm hardly the target audience, then or now. I remember how big the show was--not dominating everything like Star Wars, but a steady current I kept bumping into. "Everypony" in work chats always made me happy. 

Maybe the G4 magic will appear again, but given who/what owns the rights, it doesn't seem likely. Which is sad. So many things could have launched from it, and I presume when I finally get to G5 I'll regret that's what happened.

I think to be more specific (It's been a WHILE so bear with me), FiM was actually a bit of an underdog at first! Most merchandise shows tend to be relatively short-lived, where they'd come in, advertise whatever toys it was made to promote, then fade away after doing its rounds for a season, so it was already a big surprise that FiM seemed to be more than just a half-hour toy commercial. When it came out that season 2 was greenlit, detractors were shocked that the candy-colored horse show was more than just a passing trend, and fans were pleasantly surprised to hear that there was gonna be plenty more to come!

Personally, as amazing as it would be, I don't think the G4 magic will happen again in terms of any official capacity, since Hasbro seems to be wanting to go in different directions with their IPs now, on top of it already just being one of those lightning-in-a-bottle the-perfect-storm deals to begin with. However, I'd say the fandom is doing a pretty good job at keeping the torch lit! We made it to our 15th anniversary after all :derpy-party:
