~Sugar Sprinkles~ 638 June 17, 2012 Share June 17, 2012 My mom confirmed that I can get a Monroe piercing (A stud on your upper lip to look like a beauty mark, like Marilyn Monroe) Im just so excited that I can get one. I honestly thought my mom would FLIP!!! She usually does, well since im 18 and she said as long as i dont pierce my whole face hehe. Had to say it, just so happy as ever :3 But any ladies.....or men o.O that has had experience, please tell me, is it true? Is the pain minor? Everyone ive asked said that
Inkfeather 597 June 17, 2012 Share June 17, 2012 I know nothing on monroe piercings as of a specific piercing, but I know that the degree of pain you feel differs from person to person. I have had many piercings, still have in my ears and my eyebrow, have had in lower lip and nose as well. None of those hurt in my opinion, but I know people who said that their nose piercing or eyebrow hurt like buck. The degree of pain vaires depending on your own pain treshold. I would recommend, if you have any other piercings, to compare how much that hurt with someone else with the same type. When talking lip piercings specifically, mine didn't hurt more than my eyebrow did, and that was highly a sharp pinch and then it was over. Anyways good luck getting it!

Bohtty 1,775 June 17, 2012 Share June 17, 2012 The only person I know who got a piercing did it themselves. With a safety pin. In class. It got infected because hes a dumbass. I haven't talk to him in a long time. Last I heard, he was addicted to Oxycontin. Big surprise. He's always been a dumb delinquent. At any rate, depending on your state of mind and if your looking and how prepared you are, your body's natural pain killers may kick in. If they do then you won't feel it, however, since you are expecting it, it probably wont happen. At any rate it will hurt for sometime its only a matter of sooner or later. I'm sure the pain, in comparison to other areas can be considered minor. It will always be different for everyone since everyone is different. We all have varying levels of pain tolerance. I'm not a doctor, nor do I have personal experience, however I do remember that it is a common human tendency to down play things after they happen. 1 Legit signature made by Shift. I used to be a stranger 7,993 June 17, 2012 Share June 17, 2012 I really don't see the point of piercings myself. A waste of energy and metal in my opinion.

I hate it when people do it themselves >.< Apparently my dad pierced his own ears when he was young, LOL, but i can tolerate needles, depending on where at. Ive gotten a shot in my gums, and those are sensitive as hell, and i didnt even react
Bohtty 1,775 June 18, 2012 Share June 18, 2012 (edited) I really don't see the point of piercings myself. A waste of energy and metal in my opinion. I think it's silly personally, but it has been a part of human history far longer then things like marriage and democracy have. I hate it when people do it themselves >.< Apparently my dad pierced his own ears when he was young, LOL, but i can tolerate needles, depending on where at. Ive gotten a shot in my gums, and those are sensitive as hell, and i didnt even react Keep in mind, most shot based problems are usually created in the mind. The pain from the piercing will be very real. Also, I don't mind self piercing as long as its controlled and done by someone with an understanding of piercing. I still don't suggest anyone do it and that kid didn't know shit. He just thought he was cool. Edited June 18, 2012 by Bohtty Legit signature made by Shift. Sheogorath 1,155 June 18, 2012 Share June 18, 2012 Face is the most sensitive part of your body, and lips are the most sensitive area of that part so you can do the math.
