The DJ glanced back at Timber before he went inside.

"Thanks Vinyl... its like a pony can't mind her own business these days without hearing a racket." Timber was most definitely warming up to Vinyl. The three continued walking down the street when they came across a stallion busking in the street. Intrigued by the music, Timber approached him.

"You're welcome. He's my neighbor, he's pretty cool, but he doesn't know when not to party. So in a way, he's worse than Pinkie Pie when it comes to parties. You probably won't believe me when I say that was the lowest setting on my bass cannon," she bragged. "Who's that? I've never seen him around here before."

 

Vinyl went back to her neighbor's house, knocked on the door, and shouted "Hey Sonic! Get out here!"

Sonic Wubz stepped out of his house very shyly. "Y-yes," he asked.

"I want you to come with us. I'm showing these two around Ponyville, and seeing as how they're both preoccupied, I need someone to talk to. What do you say?"

"I....... guess," he replied before going and getting his backpack/turntable.

Six saw the way the pony had looked over at his sister, and even though he had nothing against him, couldnt help but feel a little protective of her. He was a typical older brother after all. Six walked between Timber and Vinyl, keeping a wary eye on the new pony and saying nothing.

"Oh, don't act all shy now. We've known each other for years now. These two gave me a ride from Manehattan and are going to be staying with me for a while. Over there is Timber Strum. And prettyboy over there is Six Strings. I think he has a thing for me,"

"Hi there," he said quietly before looking at Vinyl "Then you should know how shy I am when I'm not using my turntable."

"Oh, get over your damn turntable. You'll be able to use it soon enough. Plus, we have a party tonight, you'll want to save your energy for then. Right?"

"Yes of course," he said as he turned his gaze back to Timber.

"Hmm... Ah I get it, you like a certain somepony. Am I right? I'm right aren't I?"

"She's....... cute," he whispered as he looked away.

[Strong Hooves 289]

Again this guy looked back at his sister, he coughed to get the pony's attention and stepped forward, shaking his hoof rather vigorously, "Howdy, ah am Six String. This is Timber.... mah sister." he said the last couple words a little sternly, as if in a silent warning.

"Maybe you'll be able to impress said certain somepony at the party tonight." she said slyly.

Sonic backed away with wide eyes in fear. "Yes, I understand," he said before he gulped and continued walking while looking at the ground.

Six glanced at Vinyl for what she said, his protectiveness over his little sister was showing.

"Right, sorry. He's been looking for a special somepony for years now. On Hearts and Hooves day for the past couple of years now, he's been alone. It's kind of depressing, really. I've known him for years. He wouldn't do anything to hurt her. Just give him this. For me, please." she whispered in his ear.

Sixs gaze softened as he looked at Vinyl, he sighed and turned to Sonic, "Ahd like a word with ya alone" he said as he led Sonic away from the girls.

Sonic followed him nervously. When they finally got away he immediately put his hooves in front of his face in preparation.

Six raised an eyebrow at Sonic, he reached up and slowly pushed his hooves back down. "Look" he said "Ahm sorry if ah made ya nervous, it's just ah only want the best fer mah little sister. Ah ain't got nothin against ya, and ah ain't gonna stop ya from talkin ta her. Just treat her right ok? Ahll know if ya have an attitude with her, but you seem alright, so ah think you'll do just fine."

"Y-yes sir," Sonic replied before joining back up with Vinyl and Timber.

"See, he's not a bad pony," she whispered.

He whispered back to Vinyl, "Well ahll be the judge of that" he said, but with a smile as he playfully bumped Vinyl as they walked.
