((We now present Pony Masterpiece Theatre's Sunbrurn Kills Bucking EVERYTHING))

Twenty ponies rushed in with spears all thrusting in at Sunburn, who jumped up, allowing everypony to stab each other all at one, and stabbing the couple of survivors. As more and more rushed in, a smile almost crept over his face.

More to kill, more would die. That's how it would work.

General Blade came down the hall, clapping.

"Very impressive, but we're gonna have to stop you right there. I have Nightfall right here," Nightfall walked up behind her, "and I'm handing him over to you, so that you can leave without any further loss of lives."

Sunburn cocked his head to the side.

"That's your primary goal, here?" Sunburn said. "Then..."

He glanced around. This was the NLR, the enemy, his anathema. He wanted them dead. What could hurt them the most?

"... You're coming with me, too. Or I'll kill everypony in this whole mooned base."

Vinyl was furious, "I came to give you back a prisoner of war and you are going to try to take the General of the NLR? You're lucky we're not trying to kill you right now. Last time I checked, you killed twenty-two of our guards."

With a swish-click, the blood on Sunburn's hoof came oiut.

"I'm getting a 'no' out of this. I don't like the sound of 'no'. Do I need to incapacitate you? I can't guarantee it won't be fatal." Sunburn's voice was a void of emotion, so muc that it was hard to remain passionate whilst speaking to him.

"Alright, I'll go. It's been a while since I've seen Celestia. Maybe we can catch up."

Sunburn quickly struck her in the neck, with the intent of knocking her out.

"Nightfall," he said, grunting and looking at him. "Good to see you. Been six months? I'm getting off court marshal for the nasty business with the privates. All I need is to get you back. Help me with the general. I might even get a commendation."

Vinyl was stunned for a moment, then everything faded to black. She was slung onto Sunburn's back and she looked so innocent.

The round hit Red instead. He fell to the ground twitching, and within seconds had transformed into the changeling it really was. A pony who looked exactly like Red dropped down from a ledge literally right above Fine's head."A-ha! I sought zat pony looked familiar! No matter. Now zat IT is dealt vith, I can introduce myshelf visout confushion. Red Alert. For REAL zis time." He turns to Fine. "You shot me. Make sure not to do it again. I have been shot many times und have not... vell I've only died vunce." Red looks contemptuously at the changeling. "Shloppy!"

Sunburn shrugged off Vinyl quickly, and look at Red Alert, a changeling drone.

"Ah," he said. "That would explain it." A hoof-blade came out. "Friend, and I kill the sniper. Foe, and I kill you. Your choice."

Fine hit the deck. The blow winding him as he slammed into the floor. Lightning grinder was cast aside and clattered to a halt several metres away. His lanky frame was pinned beneath the stallion. He struggled but found his efforts fruitless in his escape. He was at the mercy of the pony atop him.

Sunburn wasn't a math expert, but he figured that two hostages beat one anyday. He went for a quick blow to knock him out, then loaded him up and turned to the newly changelingified Red.

"Don't care what you are," he said, quite honestly. "Just help me get these ponies to the Citadel and I'll make it worth your while."

Vinyl regained consciousness and saw that Sunburn was taking the NLR corporal. "I said you could take me, not anypony else," she shouted weakly.

Imaging that "weakly" was the key term there, Sunburn walked over to her and hit her once more, to keep her quiet and passed for a longer amount of time.

"I don't need any trouble," he muttered. "This is enough to get done."

"Sunburn, you expect to get back and be awarded when you have a corporal and could have had the general of the whole NLR army?" Nightfall put Blade on his back.

"She's an old friend of mine as well, so let's get her out of this dump." He started walking off.

"Thought you wouldn't see action again, Sunburn. Good to see you out and about again."

"I'm going to have both," Sunburn said, heading back towards the Citadel.

"Yes, after the... unwilling private was... disciplined, I was on court martial, probably death row, but luckily Celestia had need of my unique brand of skills." He said. "Funny enough, it seems you managed to save my hide, by letting me save yours."

"Huh. The death of that private was unnecessary, Sunburn. But then, to ask a question: why would I not let you save my skin?" Nightfall moved a bit quicker, but tried not to jostle Blade.

"Foibles, foibles. Let's not dwell on old wounds. I was merely pointing out the irony in the universe." And yet, there was not a hint of humor in Sunburn's tone. "We're taking the Friendship Express back this time. There's a station not 3 miles from this location."

"I didn't know the Express was still working." Nightfall didn't really trust Sunburn too much. It was the "old wounds" thing, and he knew that if this mission was successful and Sunburn was promoted, he would have to forgive Sunburn, but still...

"So, taken a shine to this one, have you?" Sunburn said, looking at Vinyl. "Nasty, that. After all, she's not going to get a pleasant treatment. Celestia takes to traitors about as well as Parasprites take to hunger. Maybe you should put her out of her misery."

Nightfall boarded the train with Blade.

"She's both an old friend and the general of the whole damn NLR army. I'm taking her to Celestia alive and untouched if you won't." Nightfall glared at Sunburn.

"I'm going to make sure she's ok in captivity. Funny, considering how no pony did the same for you."

Sunburn glanced at him. Somehow, he knew, deep in his heart, who had reported him for the death of the private. Maybe it was time for a bit of revenge.

"A bit.. defensive, are we?" Nightfall said, nothing changing about his voice. A hoofblade slinked out, and he reached out to touch Vinyl.

"Maybe... just maybe it would be best if she were... killed in the brawl that allowed me to save you."

Nightfall smacked Sunburn's hoof away.

"Don't. You. Dare." Nightfall pulled his right hoof back in the sign of being ready for a fight.

"She is coming ALIVE."

"Come to think of it... I think I have to kill her. My instruction were to kill everypony in between the Citadel and you, and for that brief moment, she was there," Sunburn's voice was unreadable, there was no trace of malice or duty, just a cold, endless resolve.
