I definitely say C and it makes me sad when games don't have them. I've had so much fun in places like the Gold Saucer in FFVII, the festival in Wild Arms, the game arcade after the Hero Competition in Legend of Dragoon, playing Sphere Break in FFX-2 (not an arcade but still a great minigame) and more. I disagree but I think they can be a very nice touch if they're appropriate. I really liked the Gold Saucer in FF7 and the Festival in Chrono Trigger, but I wouldn't go so far to say they're necessary or essential.

But I do think they provide a bit of fun/comic relief to otherwise dark stories and I think that's probably why they're so important - not necessarily because they're filled with minigames but because they lighten things up.

You can try copy pasting it into notepad first to get rid of the black background

Well I didn't mean essential as in HAS TO HAVE IT OR THE GAME SUCKS but just an RPG doesn't really feel complete without something like it to me.

And I figured out how to do it, going into the alternate editor and deleting the background BBCode did it.
