I'm not sure if anyone is even going to care about this, but its worth a shot for the fans who are interested;

As some of you may know, there is currently a Pound Puppies DVD available called "Homeward Pound". It includes 5 episodes from season 1, and the bonus feature, "Learn to draw Lucky"

And there is another DVD that will be released October 16, 2012, called "Super Secret Pup Club." It will contain episodes from both seasons 1 and 2. Along with the bonus feature, "Learn to draw Rebound"

If any fans are interested, here are the U.S. amazon.com links for them;

Remember, purchasing DVDs is a great way to support a show.

Pound Puppies has been getting a lot of talk lately on the MLP forums.

I have been meaning to watch it.

But please Hasbro why do you insist on the DVDs with just some episodes.

I'd much prefer to give you my money for Season Box Sets.

Eh, I'm not really interested in that show. It seems like the show is geared towards little kids.

So is "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" Its target audience is little girls. Its worth pointing that out.

Pound Puppies has been getting a lot of talk lately on the MLP forums.

I have been meaning to watch it.

I hadn't recently done any searches, but as far as I know there's no real fansite or discussion board to talk about the new Pound Puppies, outside of maybe ToonZone.net. I'd done a couple of threads in the past and people Google Pound Puppies and they get the threads I (and now others) have posted here as a result. Perhaps this is one of the few places fans can come and talk about it then? I'm not really sure. Too bad the series hasn't garnered more of a following than it currently has.

But please Hasbro why do you insist on the DVDs with just some episodes.

Shout! Factory wants to do complete season boxsets, but I believe the underlying problem lies with the retailers (Walmart, Target, et al). Multi-disc boxsets for kid's cartoons apparently don't sell very well, and the retailers don't want to buy such product; they would rather have cheaper, single-disc releases that parents can buy for their kids, throw into the DVD player and not have to change discs when their kids want to see different episodes. There's a huge percentage of society that hasn't even heard of bronies yet, unfortunately.

And that's just Friendship is Magic. Doubtful full season set releases will happen with Puppies anytime soon. But who knows, anything is possible.

Hmmm.... I gave this show a shot, and it was okay. I mean, some of the things I disliked about the show was the animation, the music, and sometimes, the plot can be predictable, but overall, it's not as bad as I thought. I guess expectations got the best out of me. I swear, one of the voices in the show sounded like Sheldon Cooper (Big bang theory).

Interesting that you say you don't like the animation/music. DHX Media does the animation (sans episodes 1-7 of season one, done by Story 9), and they're behind MLP:FiM. Daniel Ingram and Steffan Andrews compose the show's music... although they only do the songs for FiM, not the underscore.

And yes, Jim Parsons (of Big Bang Theory fame) does have a guest voice on the show as Milton Feltwadle.

Pfft sounds like it's for little kids......OWAIT :o

I haven't watched it yet and I should give it a chance. But I just have so busy. Hopefully it's not as worst as the original.

Commending Sean for those tidbits of information. Whenever someone mentioned that they didn't like the animation (with the exclusion of episodes 1-8) and/or the music for the show, I had an eerie feeling in my gut that there was something to be said about that, I just couldn't remember it.

sometimes, the plot can be predictable

What show is this not true for? I mean, it's namely a consequence for the show's premise, but nonetheless, I don't know any shows that aren't guilty of having a predictable plot once in a while. As you watch on (especially in season 2), you'll find that the show can actually surprise you much more often than you're implying.

There's also really good continuity between seasons 1 and 2, I must add; that really contributes to "hype satisfaction", and it's more of a surprise than anything I can currently imagine.

What are older Pound Puppies fans called?

Brohounds? Broodles? Brochsaunds? Bronines?

I don't think the fans of this show need an alias, personally. Meh.

Is leg-shaking the equivalent of clopping?

LOL, the Scratch Reflex? I sure hope that a Pound Puppies equivalent of clopping never comes to be. Edited by Zatchiel

I actually think that The Hub's Pound Puppies is a lot better than the original.

Personally, I never really cared for the original Pound Puppies from the '80s. I think the Hub's version is a big improvement.

I think you meant, 1-7. :)

@Senn555--

Not sure if you knew, but there's good news, these Pound Puppies DVDs are also available in Canada, :)

If you are interested, here are the DVD links from amazon.com Canada;

I'm well aware of those DVDs, but thank you nonetheless. :) London Drugs has been the place to go to in Canada for buying DVDs of TV shows that air on The Hub (MLP, Puppies, Chuck & Friends, Transformers Prime...). Can't find the Puppies DVDs anywhere else.

I bought four copies of the Homeward Pound DVD, actually. One for me, one for my best friend, and two that I gave as gifts to Daniel Ingram and Steffan Andrews.

I am inferring that the new Pound Puppies is much better than its predecessor. Haven't really taken time to watch it and confirm my guess, but I should watch an episode soon, for reasons of fairness.

However,

I'd go with the word of this guy.

Yep, my fault.

Fans of Pound Puppies are starting to use the term pupsters.

It was suggested by Yvette Nicole Brown (the voice of Cookie) in an interview last year.
