How do I draw MLP:FiM stuff

MLP:FiM is draw/animated using a program called Adobe Flash. It is a digital art format called vector art. This effect can also be obtained with a lot less hardware with Adobe's other program, Adobe Illustrator. Both programs are in the ballpark range of 500$, but they both have 30 trials and are easily an industry standard.

A free alternative would be Ink Scape which has a horrible learning curve and is, imo, an all around piece of shit. :]

As for how to actually draw the ponies (ie: technique) then I would suggest starting on paper. If you can't do it on paper then you won't be able to do it on the computer, simple as that. The computer does not somehow give people the ability to draw and many of the best artists in the world that work digitally also have a background in traditional drawing/painting.

I also want to draw MLP Fan art... But with a pencil.. i want to increase my drawing skills.

I would draw Any of the Mane 6, especially Fluttershy or RainbowDash.

Basically what Bohitty said... Another good program to use that is free is GIMP. I just thought I'd add that to the list of free alternatives, because I personally find Inkscape hard to work with.

You could start by tracing a picture from the show to get the form down. Once you have that, you could try to draw using a reference, then when you get really good you could do it without looking at any image. Edited by Dusty Soul

I was not aware that GIMP had vector tools? If it does then, yah, use GIMP. Inkscape is so complicated and horribly designed, but not impossible. Edited by Bohtty

Practice, practice, practice... There simply isn't any other answer. There isn't any magic trick that makes you really good. So what are you waiting for? Start drawing ponies!

It does have the tools to vector. I know this because of all the tutorials I've seen on Youtube for vectoring. Once your used to the software you can create very nice things.

I tried to draw ponies before but I looked up how before I started and said to download GIMP its way to hard to handle though  So yeah I will stick with Photoshop if I want to draw something... I never draw a full pony before, usually just give up...

Are you using a mouse? GIMP is almost an exact copy of photoshop, it's just a lot more buggy. If you can't draw on paper then your probably going to have a problem drawing on the computer xD

You can play most games with a touch pad, but it is virtually impossible to draw anything good with a touch pad. If your doing non vector digital art then you pretty much need a tablet.

I know of a few people that use paint and/or GiF program to render

already made pony pictures into signatures and avatars, not sure if you are looking

for this exactly, but it would be a good starting point :)
