Pinkamena Horror Pony - Bow Down to Princess Celestia

Hey everypony

I just finished my first official drawing for 2012 and it's a horror pony *insert Fluttershy 'yay'* tell me which one is better because I'm not sure whether to use the red lighting and shadows from the trees. I call it 'Bow Down to Princess Celestia' you can't really see it but she taped Celestia's hair to her mane XD

I think it needs more Celestia type things to get the point across. Maybe more of Celestia's hair or some of the regalia she wears.

I think it would help, yes. Some more blood running down her foreleg too, that chest wound would produce a lot more blood than is shown.

 

It's very well done, but I think those things will add to it.

Aha, have to agree with Crispy here. Celestia's crown would fit and maybe some fake-paper wings stuck in her back?

I think it would help, yes. Some more blood running down her foreleg too, that chest wound would produce a lot more blood than is shown.

 

It's very well done, but I think those things will add to it.

I prefer the first one's scheme. Red lighting can really cut down on the visual effect of blood, while the darker, almost foggy quality of the first one helps it pop out more.

thanks XD I knew I couldn't pull off drawing a wing right because that would get in the way of the chest wound (it's the reason I added feathers, I wouldn't make the wings paper because that defeats the point that she killed Celestia) but I could still add Celestia's crown.

hmmm I'll try and work with the darker effect and see how it turns out.

Looks way better now. She reminds me of a monster from silent hill when it's only the fog world.xD

Though for the smoke I would give a 7/10, it's good, don't get me wrong, but for my taste it's a bit off. (maybe it should be darker or something)

nononono, the fog is great, don't change it if you like the way it looks. And besides, wait for more people to say if it's good or bad. That's what I do atleast.

i think that the amount of Celestia's hair is way too little to ever be noticed. i had to squint with my eyes to notice the super duper, tiny strands of hair being taped to her mane.

of course, she wouldn't be able to get anything more than a few strands of her hair, but i think you should make those strands more noticable for the eyes

 

i also think that, having her abdomen being ripped open, she would have to be practically standing in a puddle of her own blood. sure, there's lots of it dried up on her legs, but i really think more blood dripping wouldn't hurt- err, well, it WOULD hurt in this situation for her, but she's Pinkamena, so i'm sure she could handle it.

 

also, black eyes with red pupils are 20% more scarier if they are aimed towards YOU. bonus points if it's an animated gif that switches from looking at the scenery to staring directly at YOU.

 

aside from that, i really liked this picture. Pinkamena fan-art is usually pretty boss, and yes, it does look very Silent Hill-esque with the fog surrounding her. i wouldn't want to meet HER a dark, foggy night...

I didn't really want to put her in a puddle of blood because I know I wouldn't be able to pull it off nicely and it wouldn't look very nice, it would clash with the black and white smokey background.

I understand what you mean by the hair but I didn't quite want to make everything be bright and colourful XD I was going for a dark look and if you were walking in the night what you see wouldn't exactly be clear and noticeable.

As for the eyes, I was trying to give her a derpy look to imply that she has gone crazy like here:
